I wonder if they'll remold the Nightbringer and Deceiver.

Incidentially, the Nightbringer is hilarious levels of 'fuck you' if he gets into melee. His Entropic Blow is six attacks at S14 AP-4 Dm D6, and you cannot take invulnerable saves against it. Combined with Nightbringer's Drain Life ability (which blocks any ability that would let an enemy resist a wound from his melee attacks), just about any non-LoW unit in melee is boned (and a fair number of LoW units as well). Combined with his innate C'tan power (Gaze of Death, which lets you pick a unit within 9" and roll 3d6; for every 4+, that unit eats d3 mortal wounds), he's a monster.

gargant prices are a big ouch even as an AoS fan. Sad part is I’m pretty sure someone is gonna buy a whole army.

On the plus side, you can buy just one of them and use it as a mercenary for another army. But that's still 200 bucks.

So what's the over under on Christmas box sets this year? The last batch was kino.

I believe it was hinted at in the reveal for the Supreme Command Detatchment, that the qualifying role of Primarch, Demon Primarch, or Supreme Commander would see a release around the end of the year. I think the Rumour mill is that Fulgrim or Perturabo was the next Demon Primarch in the works, so maybe some Iron Warriors or Emporer's Children stuff like Death Guard got. Maybe we'll have more than one and have Lion step out of his cuckshed(I've heard in reviews the Dark Angels have had a lot of keywords missing from units that should qualify show up in the Codex) and have it paired with some "loyal" astartes boxes.

I’ll think about it. I play Stormcasts, Fyreslayers, and Maggotkin. So the only army I’ll feel comfortable to use them with is Maggotkin. A gargant with heavy nurgle conversion would look real sweet.

my lore autism could never see Stormcasts employing a giant man eater or pissed off dwarfs on dragons as well.

Little do we know, the new sanguinor is primarch sized...

Fyreslayers are basically mercenaries to begin with, so a mercenary giant seems redundant. And, personally, the Order Gargant is the least cool-looking of the trio.

So if I gloss a mini, is that enough to make a contrast paint run? Or do I need to buy the 8 shekel pot of medium? I am planning on lining my blood angels with flesh tearers red.

As far as I understand it, the contrast paint runs anyway. The magic smooth paint surface thing was to prevent micro-pooling in like, brushstrokes. I could be wrong, though.

IIRC Darren's video on Blood Angels used Flesh Tearers as a liner / shade for red:

And IIRC Duncan covers using Black Templar as a liner:

Has anyone ever used cork for 40k bases? I'm trying to find the right thickness on amazon and not quite certain. I have a mini that I need to do some rubble -- my Telemon I'm going to model like he's being pushed backwards by the recoil of his guns.

I use cork for some of my hippie forest bases. Super glue some layers on top of the plastic base, they allow for quick expanding or reshaping without the hassle of puttying things up. Because of the way they crumble, they work fine simulating rubble too. Remember that being porous, superglue gets "soaked in" the material so try to lay them carefully and press gently to ensure contact.

Hey all, looking for but can't find a warhammer lolcow thread because boy would my partner have some stories to tell and I'm sure you guys do too.

Remember that guy who burnt his entire warhammer fantasy army in protest when Age of Sigmar came out? As a warhammer widow (and Australian) I know how much that shit costs and I was horrified.

I use cork for rubble quite a lot, i find it is best go get the thinner sheet as you can always double up.

Warhammer is a weird one where it doesn’t have cows as such but does have its share of reactionaries like Arch or Sigmarxism. As a whole it’s pretty good at keeping its own player base in line, while this doesn’t mean there aren’t cows who play the game or enjoy the universe they’re probably more involved with other games or fandoms to be even noticed.
One thing that probably helps is the barriers for entry are a big initial financial and time investment. While video games only need you to buy a console and follow the tutorial warhammer makes you read through novel length rule books then assemble and paint the product before you even play a game.

Also yes the guy who touched his army was a turbo sperg. If you have stories to share please do.

I saw guys on /tg/ say the dudes plays age of Sigmar now but I haven’t seen concrete proof. Warhammer doesn’t have lolcows exactly but it does have its fair share of typical nerd autism nothing bad but in your life of playing table top in person you are bound to find “that guy” once.

You can really tell the difference at stores that have both Warhammer nights and Magic nights.

Outside of political spergs, most Warhammer lolcows are people who become obsessed with the hobby. Win at all costs people, those that chase after the meta. I know a someone who buys whatever army is currently winning in tournaments. If the models are painted, they aren't even primed, and most likely not applied with two thin coats.

And not to forget the autists with modeling and painting. I heard that there is a GW store owner that sculpted giant naked tits on slaanesh daemons. There's a story about one player who painted his Imperial Guard army as WW2 Germany, including painting swastikas on the models.

I wouldn’t call WAAC’ers cows but that dude you described has the ‘Tism. Maybe hardcore lorefags could be cows? Or people who make those dumb “what if battles” on YouTube and always have 40k win. I learned over the years to stop taking the fluff seriously but nowadays it’s a community in its own right. Though speaking as a Blood Raven fanboy I wanna say ADB is a cow since the dude used to get very angry over the Blood Ravens = Thousand Sons stuff.

Prompted by the Auspex tactics video on Necron warriors pricing I went and checked one of my local stores that just got their monthly restock of products. Vanguard vets are now 10$ more expensive, the funny thing is that store still has their old vanguard vet boxes with the cheaper price too. So who is gonna buy the new one? More importantly why? Is that the final form of the GW consoomer?
