I really want to see a re-release of battle fleet gothic i’d play aeronautica but the factions are too limited at the moment. Updated sculpts for necrons and orks would look sick AF.

I’ve been watching stuff on YouTube and i’m really catching the bug for it.
I've been playing the second video game and I both hope for a third game, this time with a metamap campaign with all races, and GW resurrecting the TT wargame itself like they did with Fantasy for AoS after Total Warhammer got people interested. MAKE THE KOR'VATTRA GREAT (for the first time)!

well, there's stuff like https://www.patreon.com/posts/august-guest-40084453
probably the only way to get "new" stuff for anything GW doesn't deem feasible.

I have discovered a thriving GW 3D Printing community.

Now, to find a resin printer that doesn't suck.

isn't that the feature of resin printers?
(there are good ones out there, but the whole process is just annoying - or maybe I'm lazy. plant based resin you can just let decompose is definitely the right direction, but afaik only anycubic does one currently. also consumer inkjet printing never ever)

let me guess, it has both the zips and extracted folders, because what's wrong with not only sharing duplicate files, but also ones that are 60% bigger than needed. same way I love my movies in uncompressed RAW...

No, it's all zips. There's a shitload of them.

As for resin, they're getting better and better. Apparently the new ones are monochrome 4k screens and stupid good. This is the one that people have been suggesting on reddit, it's the new hotness. Waiting on Amazon because $50 for shipping is FUCK THAT levels of bullshit.

Im working on some Death Guard right now. Just in time for the new codex and the leaks of the boxes coming out have me salivating. They are going to be my last hobby project of the year. Next year I plan on 2 armies an AoS Ironjaw army in an orange color scheme and probably a full phobos Raptor army. Im waiting for the battle force to come out and it will surely have tons of people reselling stuff. I need 2 invictor war suits since I have a lot of extra phobos stuff from ebay purchases.

As for Ironjawz im real keen on making them have Orange armor its a color I rarely seen tackled on miniatures

I get some of my customization 3D prints from Pop Goes the Weasel in a couple weeks(mostly beaky heads). After they are in I'll be pretty hot to start up my first models.

Gonna be working on my Sisters of Battle army over break. I'm planning to give my senior Sisters (Canoness, Imagifier, etc) a slightly different color scheme from the line nuns. If it turns out well I'll post pics.

The blood angels leaks really makes me want to make some DC assault intercessors, but I kind of hate the Indomitus assault marines. It's such a shame that all the Indomitus kits are so retardedly priced compared to their starter box counterparts. Like at this point I will NEVER buy a box of necron warriors on their own(and I'm currently building a fucking necron army), like the multi pose assault intercessors are cool, but not cool enough for me to forgo the Indomitus ones.

Stupid question.

I bought the inventory off a couple Hobby Stores after Corona hit. What is the likelihood resin printers are going to be reproducing car / train / Gundam models?

I don't know much about 40k except that it sells for a lot. Wondering if I need to be worried about other things being counterfeited.

I'm not very knowledgeable about the 3rd party market, other than in my experience 3D printed resin stuff is more expensive than GW for full models, but there is larger recasters that I hear are competetive but don't know about pricing.

If it's in a box it's probably legit? I haven't seen anyone selling counterfit stuff, just recasted models or 3d printed bits.

You don't really need to worry about counterfeiting, even for 40k stuff. There are weirdos like me that are interested in it. The tech is maturing but is still expensive and niche. That is to say, if you're looking to flip that hobby store inventory, you're fine. If you're looking to open a hobby store after the world returns to sanity, you're fine. If you're worried your inventory is counterfeit, it's almost definitely not.

4k is definitely an improvement, and not even that expensive. still no SLA but those probably never reach broad consumer prices. phrozen 4k mini is one of the first, that's probably why people are hyped for it (and apparently good track record while being from taiwan, not china). but tbh even 2k could produce great results, heck you can even use FDM with good results, but it's usually not worth the effort when resin makes it easier (while still being an annoying process where you have to check supports, waste resin on them, wash & cure that stuff with gloves and mask etc., which is my main issue with it).

you might be able to buy it from another reseller, MMF sometimes has some deals too if you buy a sub (but the 4k mini is prolly too new for that).

stores usually get their stuff from distributors, it's not really worth importing recasts when everybody can do it without the markup, so as @HTTP Error 404 said it should be fine.
not even sure if there's a big market for that stuff outside warhammer, it's pretty niche (so why bother when you can use it for forgeworld stuff) and with GW prices you can still make good money being 20-30 bucks cheaper whereas other stuff is not as outrageously priced (although figmas are close).

I think he's asking about counterfeiting the models himself and competition.

Assuming you mean models not meant for wargames, I haven't seen those being counterfeited anywhere near as much but it's not something I pay attention to. The model train spergs I've met are older upper-class dudes, not so much in need of that nor predisposed to it. I'd be surprised if there isn't a thread here about model trains, you could ask them. Gundam is more likely though.

Realized the other night that my plan for basing isn't going to be as easy as I thought, so I'm having fun figuring out alternatives.

Man, world eaters and emperor's children need codexs and a range update. It's at the where I'm barely even seeing berserkers taken anymore. I don't think ive even seen noise marines taken anywhere. The black legion meme is cancer.
