Iirc mandaloregaming's review had a part about making the pc version more bearable.Anyone played Fire Warrior for the PC/PS2? I bought it on GOG and thought it would be terrible but I'm not having that bad of a time. The PC port isn't great so is the PS2 version any better?

It was okay but a bit of a drag. The environment felt pretty bare. I don't think the controls were screwy if that's the problem with the port.Anyone played Fire Warrior for the PC/PS2? It's honestly not that bad. It feels like a game that was being developed at the same time as Half Life if that makes any sense. The controls aren't great and it's a bit buggy. At least I think it is, it's hard to tell sometimes if a weird animation is a bug or that's just what it looks like. The story isn't that bad if you can get over the idea of a Tau going full Doom Guy and murdering everything in sight. I think you can get through it if you don't mind a janky 5/10 game. I've got a pretty high tolerance mediocre games so maybe it's just me.I really wanted to play it back in the day but with what i’ve seen of it I didn’t miss much.
It seems fine to me. It's definitely a PS2 game that's for sure. The environment felt pretty bare.

Why aren't there more video games set in the 40k universe? The strategy games are nice, but I would like to see a RPG open world in a hive city or a FPS set during the third war for Armageddon or something like that.
You've just reminded of that. Hope it's good. We're getting a Vermintide spin off set in 40k as an IG squad called Darktide. Finger's crossed it isn't shit.
I might be talking out my ass here, but I recall that there's a bit of a negative feedback loop with Geedubs and videya - they don't want to spend more than they have to, so they contract studios that work for peanuts, who make awful games, which don't sell very well, which makes Geedubs not want to spend more than they must for new games. Repeat ad nauseam. Why aren't there more video games set in the 40k universe? A recent investors call said they wanted to get into video games more. I just want a shooter I’m sick of strategy let me shoot some niggas.I might be talking out my ass here, but I recall that there's a bit of a negative feedback loop with Geedubs and videya - they don't want to spend more than they have to, so they contract studios that work for peanuts, who make awful games, which don't sell very well, which makes Geedubs not want to spend more than they must for new games. Also it's probably a hell of a lot harder to repeatedly bilk customers with planned obsolescence over videya than it is with tiny doods.
Considering it's the same studio, I fully expect it to be at least a little grind-tastic. That they decided to go with Guardsmen over Space Marines has certainly piqued my interest, though.A recent investors call said they wanted to get into video games more. darktide should be fine I hope it’s not Grindy like vermintide.
Because guardsman have the most diversity while being the same. from what theyve shown (an inquisitorial looking dude, an ogryn, a cadian, and a tanith looking dude) That is 4 pretty distincive play styles. While if you wanted to do space marines, it would either be space hulk again, or the amount of thought youd have to put into gameplay to make them different is a lot more work and a lot more likely to fail. That they decided to go with Guardsmen over Space Marines has certainly piqued my interest, though.
Oh, I get that bit. I'm just pleasantly surprised Geedubs is leaving well enough alone rather than trying to ramrod Space Marines into it, owing to my very low opinion of the company's overall intelligence.Because guardsman have the most diversity while being the same. from what theyve shown (an inquisitorial looking dude, an ogryn, a cadian, and a tanith looking dude) That is 4 pretty distincive play styles. (ofc there is more chance to sell dlc through different regimental attire.)
Also, I can't think of a better way to have RPG elements in a 40k shooter game than Orks, given that they canonically get bigger and stronger with every fight, not to mention their tendencies towards loot and shiny fings. You'd be this runty little git at the start and by the end you're a massive Nob bigga an' 'arda den da rest o' tha boyz. As to why you wouldn't just kill and loot da Mek selling you stuff... he's got a few Killa Kanz by him ready to tear you to pieces if you try anything.Considering it's the same studio, I fully expect it to be at least a little grind-tastic. ... if they ever make a balls-out shooty 40K game, they'd better make you play as Orks. It would give them the leeway to be absolutely ridiculous in execution.
