They tried that with the "Battle for Vedros" product line. Neckbeards just raided the local Toys'r'Us for cheap models.
Licensed MegaBlox would likely end up going the same way.
At first I thought those were Dark Mechanicus because of the odd shape, but now I see that it is the other necron releases. What else do they have left to release from last year? Flayed Ones, a cyrptek, Bladeguard, and heavy intercessors?View attachment 1862077

The cloak looks great.Hi, long time lurker. Been into the lore & books for years and recently started building my first army (Thousand Sons). Almost done painting first mini ever- Ahriman. Need to fix the broken staff, cats and minis don't mix
I just looked up the "Battle for Vedros" and it's pretty much a starter kit like Shadowspear and Dark Vengeance. They tried that with the "Battle for Vedros" product line. Neckbeards just raided the local Toys'r'Us for cheap models.

They were based on the 5th edition starter box. The molds were the same.I just looked up the "Battle for Vedros" and it's pretty much a starter kit like Shadowspear and Dark Vengeance.
No wonder it was raided for the minis.
Not a fair comparison.
It was an entire line of models with it's own rules, and the models were push-fits so they were easy-to-build. The line was specifically designed to be marketed to children.I just looked up the "Battle for Vedros" and it's pretty much a starter kit like Shadowspear and Dark Vengeance.

You're thinking of the "Build+Paint" kits. They were licensed to Revell and sold in both toy stores and model shops. The difference between that line and the "Battle for Vedros" was that the Revell kits didn't have rules and were strictly just model kits.I still have the crappy Trukk from that line and shamelessly utilize it, tiny drivers and all.

I like it. It seems unnecessarily duplicative because the Sisters have Penitent Engines to fill that role. And the legs are really dumb, but... the Sisters are a dumb faction so that's not much of an issue for me.
