What? Painting a Host of Word Bearers or life getting in the way?

If it’s Word Bearers then yeah, I started building/painting a HH/40k Host after reading “Slaves to Darkness” and being impressed by Zardu Layak’s Unspeaking Chapter.

I prefer the Undivided Legions in general because you can ostensibly do more with them in terms of customization and characterization. The God-aligned Legions will inevitably all have their own ranges and that’s cool but it enforces an aesthetic that may get boring after awhile.

All the Death Guard are rotting neckbeards
All the World Eaters are raging retards
All the Thousand Sons are nerdy trolls
All the EC are Californians
 
Gate of Bones LE is up for preorder.

I'm currently building my Word Bearer forces to be the antagonists for my Black Templars.

An old model I did back in the early 2000s. Chaos Beserker main body, Fabius Bile cane, Catachan? head, greenstuff, and slave from DE Vect kit. Technically it's 100% GW so he's a legal model living an illegal life. I miss having the time to just screw around and build goofy models.

Anyone who buys that deserves to be ripped off. Anyone with half a brain knows that an ancient can easily be made from a standard intercessor, a banned piece and a fucking toothpick.

Don't forget:
All the Black Legion are wigger gangsters
All the Iron Warriors are technophilic jarheads
All the Night Lords are emo Chris-Chans
All the Alpha Legion are "just pretending to be retarded"

They are both daemons; can't ever be killed. And after establishing two of the largest faiths in the galaxy, what else are you really going to do that tops that?

I don't think he is very threatening when he is too scared to deal with the psychopath outside.
 
The first mini's I've ever painted, please be gentle.
I think the fat one turned out the best, but in retrospective, I really used too much Agrax Earthshade on these.

Well Daemons can be killed. It’s just retardedly difficult and only the Grey Marys can do it consistently.

IW are alright, them and the DG are the only other Legions who didn’t fucking implode and still act like soldiers. Plus Pert was one of the masterminds behind the heresy (he didn’t let his legionaries run rampant and kept his shit together)

looks good, whatever the brown is (shade, oil, whatever) , you dont want to let it pool up like it has, try using less or spread it more.

I also appreciate that they remembered to brush their teeth...
 
Possible that the above picture might not represent their actual final state, but I do think good teeth are nice, even if you're basícally walking AIDS.

I like the blood effects and while pooling can be a little off-putting, it gives these guys an oily feel to them, like some sort of sweat is staining the clothes.

The other fantastic thing about these model are the conversions, especially the axe for the guy on the left. It is so seamless that I had to check what my copy of that model was carrying. How did you go about the converting?
