Played a themed game at the local GW Saturday just gone and my god Lychgaurd are brutal. I was foot slogging a unit of 10 Lychguard equipped with dispersion shield and Hyperphase Sword with Orkina the Diviner attached. All together the unit with HQ clocked in at 420 points. I was also using the Mephrit Dynsaty force org from the Shield of Baal book and the unit took down more then double it's points and I only lost a single model in return.
They destroyed two ten man tactical space marine units, ten man assault squad with chapter master and a Lascannon Predator if the game carried on for another turn I could have taken down a Baneblade (super heavy imperial guard tank). Next time I'll throw in a destroyer lord for that sweet sweet preferred enemy re rolls.

I am thinking about getting into Warhammer so should i buy the games on Steam to get a intro into the lore and world of Warhammer?

The First Dawn of War and Space Marine are really good. Final Liberation is a really good place to start if you're okay with some of the lore being from 2nd edition.. The has it's own mini codex built in.
 
Ah i see then then i might get the first Dawn Of War or the ones i can buy.

Edited:Is Dawn Of War 2 a good place also?I can get it since it's on sale .

I didn't really like DoW2 but it's an okay place to start. If you're getting 2, buying Chaos Rising is a given.
 
I only ask because the master collection for DOW 1 is like almost $50 while DOW 2 with DLC is like $21 bucks so I'm on the fence which one I should get.
 
Thinking about picking up more models have not had time to do any in awhile.

I hear yeah.

I have a few squads of steel legion guardsmen I need to do, and when I finally found some time I discover I'm out of superglue.

Can you make one of them Jace? Like, paint on flameshades, make the Bolter gold and black, add a weed-leaf insignia?
Or make a Tycecron. Or a Race War Monolith?
