Our local no-homers tournament of legends is kicking off and I got pooled with DG and Tau. The Tau guy btw is your standard "3 riptides" type waac, so nice knowing ya all.
I can understand the concern regarding DG, but what can a Triptide list do in 9e? It's pretty much a surefire route to losing on primaries.

Looks nice! How long have you been playing word bearers?
I started at the dawn of 6th ed with some friends playing nightlords but the LGS I went to at that time had too many weirdos. This plus me spending money on stuff that just got blown up by gunlines turned me off to the game. A different friend wanted to get into the game about half a year before 9th came out and pressured me to get into it with him and some other people and I went for WB to get a fresh start. Plus I sold off a bunch of stuff so I didn't have my old NL anyway. Only models I had to "Rebuy" were some bloodletters.

I was hoping to get in the group with the grey knights and the orks to be honest. Also I've played DG several times before, but I'm not too acquainted with tau stuff.

Nice Sorcerer. Mine looks similar, except I kitbashed the force stave into a force sword.
got pics? I love conversions but I'm not that good with green-stuff so I just do minimal things like kit bashing

edit - Misread your post but the request stands

Now, I haven't finished painting him (let alone touch-ups) so please excuse any sloppiness:

If anything that I wish I should have done different is shorten the bottom of the sword.
Oh, well.
Lesson learned for my Alpha Legion Sorcerer.

looks like an odachi almost, I like it. The serpent heads on the sides of the jump pack are a nice touch too.

I would'nt shame you for not having finished a paint job. I would be even more of a hypocrite than I already am. Its so easy to dodge the responsibility of doing fine details by starting the basic stuff on a different primed model

After seeing the sagittarum custodes get such a massive boost from 8th to 9th (this goes for the whole army really, but they are the most improved). I really wish that the custodian wardens get figured out in the new custodes codex, my idea would be allowing them to keep access to storm shields. Shields and axes would be very fucking threatening.

I like their robes but they seem very redundant to me.

I'm thinking about picking up some Firstborn Marines on the cheap and painting them up as Rainbow Warriors 🌈.

I had a blast playing DG guy. My roided out wraithblades took down Typhus but ultimately I was outscored. What's more important is I can run a list that is free from the WAAC shinning spears swarm and with smart use of warlock and farseer buffs, not get deleted by turn 2. Still not looking forward to facing the tau next week.

A couple of days ago I picked up a couple of boxes of Chainrasp Hordes, and it kind of sucks that it's almost $40 for a single sprue. I mean, imagine having 120 for your average 2000 point army.

There was something I recently realized about Age of Sigmar. It's pretty much Elder Scrolls lore. Think about it, in the lore there was a group of skaven that developed chronomatic weaponry, Nagash and Sigmar teaming up to take on rouge gods, the giant god Behemat stomping on duardin which is a mythical reason for why they are so short. And then there are the armies. Star-born lizardmen created from the minds of ancient spacefaring frogs, steampunk merchant dwarf pirates, a skeleton army of tax collectors, meth-addled religious fanatic goblins.

I've been on an Elder Scrolls lore dive for some time and the some of the weirdness of Age of Sigmar feels like it fits in that universe. The only thing we are missing is Teclis realizing he is a miniature and starts comparing "swords" with Nagash.
