There was something I recently realized about Age of Sigmar. It's pretty much Elder Scrolls lore. Think about it, in the lore there was a group of skaven that developed chronomatic weaponry, Nagash and Sigmar teaming up to take on rouge gods, the giant god Behemat stomping on duardin which is a mythical reason for why they are so short. And then there are the armies. Star-born lizardmen created from the minds of ancient spacefaring frogs, steampunk merchant dwarf pirates, a skeleton army of tax collectors, meth-addled religious fanatic goblins.

I've been on an Elder Scrolls lore dive for some time and the some of the weirdness of Age of Sigmar feels like it fits in that universe. The only thing we are missing is Teclis realizing he is a miniature and starts comparing "swords" with Nagash.
Despite being an TES lore head myself, I don't agree but I think it's because I don't follow your direct comparisons. And even if I did, most of the OG lore was LOTR, Warcraft, and WW2. In the even larger scale of things, these stories all draw from some unified human unconsciousness. Most ancient cultures independently developed mythos for dragons, possibly from some evolutionary inherited trauma. These stories follow the hero's journey unconsciously too and have since people could write. When you break these stories down into generalizations, yeah they're similar. But the specifics and reasons you enjoy or remember them can be very personal. I would never compare the hardy and justice oriented Seraphon of the jungles to the oppressed, conniving, but often amusing swamp Argonians. I will give TES more points for originality because they didn't copy the world map and as many real world cultures.

Tldr time is a flat circle.

"Boo hoo!" said the space marine player, after FW discontinued one ( 1 ) of their dreadnoughts, and upon realizing GW hasn't updated horus heresy stuff within a year.

"Boo hoo indeed" said the craftworlds, imperial guard, grey knights and tyranids players.
First off, the Leviathan Dreadnought was not going to be mine. It was going to be in a relative's army (which is Alpha Legion, btw).
Second, most of my armies are Chaos.

The eldar player comes on to seethe and cope like always. "Eldar would be as popular as space marines if they got the support" he cries.

To be fair, everything the Craftworlders have done since the Fall is seethe and cope. Well, except Saim-Hann. Those guys are cool. Ride jetbikes, fight honor duels, and don't afraid of anything.

Hurts that renegades are recaster only now. The smaller bits were already more likely to be warped - doubly so for most casters. I can only pray my pay pigging for Blackstone guardsmen (28 as proxy cultists) helps influence a renegade supplement to be tacked on to the next guard dex or something.

Stop kvetching and get a resin 3D printer. GW are going to keep discontinuing more shit you like to make room for Primaris. You can get a whole army for the price of one box of tactical marines. Including Vehicles.

Now I might be a consoomer but I see no need to print primaris. I’d rather print forge world stuff since it’s expensive and crap. Something like Elysians have been tempting me or Tempestus Scions for a full stormtrooper army.

Can't wait to order to new box set featuring my favorite army!

At this point I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football.

Honestly, these releases are such a fucking joke. I was thinking of buying the box because it looked cool, but fuck me for not being able to sit on GW's webstore with my finger on the trigger, I guess.
