So... I guess that means his guides are now going to shill for his specific paint range?
He doesn't seem like the type to do that. If I had to guess, I imagine he's going to aim to mimic certain GW paints only sell them in eyedropper bottles at a better deal than GW's, and just wink-wink-nudge-nudge mention the GW equivalent you could use instead.

Where does one find the Chinese discount models?
Various chinese websites.

Ebay for example, search for anything big (like a Telemon) and you'll get an ebay listing or 10 with a blurb at the bottom about them being fans of 40k and resin recasters. They don't even really try to hide it.

Etsy too. Aliexpress has some.

(Am I allowed to use private tag for this? I think Null didn't want people using it except for very specific things?)

The one I am looking at is http://mirandairene.co/, trying to do a test order of the Space Marine Heroes I talked about earlier and some Cataphractii Terminators. They want to use Western Union, however, and I'm waiting for instructions cause I have no idea how to send money to China properly that way.

Two others that were mentioned recently were https://blacklegionmarket.co/ and http://blackmarketminiatures.su/

Black Market Miniatures is expensive, still not quite as much as GW but noticeably more than other recasters, but they're actually not just recasters but restoration specialists. They fix the models up (removing mold lines, fixing joins, etc) before making their own mold of the result, and I guess they focus more on out of print stuff. They go into it here: http://blackmarketminiatures.su/about-us/why-is-so-expensive

I haven't touched BlackLegionMarket, but someone mentioned it on /tg/ as one of the sites that shouldn't be talked about in public.

I've also gone through http://all4wargames.com/ before, ordering a test setup of 5 Custodian Guard. They came just fine, but I did have to boil some water to adjust a spear and sword or two.

I ended up finding a damn good STL for Contemptor Dreadnoughts out of the Caith box (as opposed to the hyper-ornate Contemptors from the Forge World Legio Custodes line) and I don't really need Mk4 Marines (as I have something like 100 marines to put together and paint still; although I'll probably be ordering at least one box eventually). To be fair though, I also have a stupidly good Cataphractii STL as well as a Tartaros STL by the same guy, so yeah.

OMFG some of these knock-off names are killing me though.
"Nucleic Acid Theif"
"Alien Nest Dictator"
"Alien Nibbler Worms"

Not sure if I can or should share recast sites but there are plenty models that share design elements but are arguably different enough to not call down the wrath of GWs legal department

I liked RH stuff a lot. Really wish they'd make STLs of a few of their lineups.

Having bought three Chinese recast models from other fellas around the area they're generally good. Two out of three models came out perfectly and cleaning them wasn't too bad, can get it done with a hobby knife. Only strange occurrence is that one model came with an additional power axe.

I am now 100% convinced the "SODAZ was bullied out of the 40k Community" thing is a GW lead op to get people talking about something, ANYTHING, other than how they apparently were caught blackmailing people via the legal system into working for Warhammer+.

Related: Here's the public comments 3 months ago (you know, when SODAZ was approached by GW) from Tyber Portoghese, who created The Last Church, a 70 minute long fan adaptation of that amazing short story. Basically saying the same thing, in a roundabout way. "We weren't C&D'd but hey did you know we were "acting beyond our rights" and "used an IP and story that wasn't ours to use."? We're happy to possibly be working with Warhammer+ in the future!"

Eh, I think tons of people just eagerly slurp up GW cock. Took a quick peek at DakkaDakka, and it's still just as faggy as Reddit.

Edit: For example, this faggot:

I'm not a huge fan of Sigmarines; the Primaris Simgarines look a bit better, but I will admit my favorite part of all this gold is that a Custodes fan all these alternate paint schemes give me ideas and hope for some nice Custodes variants.

Now we just need the Talons Codex to come out and not somehow fuck them up.

I never heard of SODAZ but I can totally see GW fucking shutting down creators just to have exclusivity.

Did this, apparently.
