Pretty fuckin much what the major factons of the world of Caen are.

Also for any one who suspects why people out there dislike GW's idiotic ideas:

To be fair its not like there are a hundred other apps that do something similar to that.

Oh wait. There are. ....

@That Chris Guy you can use warhammer models with Kings of War rules. The best part about Mantic is that they allow players to use proxy models, something which GW would kick you out of their hq for.

Also as a beastmen player I can glady say that Mantic has my respect.

Even worse than the app.

Oh that....thing.

First time I saw that I nearly had a stroke. 25 euros for that piece of shit. Privateer Press sells something similar to that for 5, and its part of a set.

Godammit GW. Your models are cool but your prices suck.

The lack of hair on that space marine is complete HAIResy.

Nice paint job. I wish I could paint as good as that.
I've found, more than anything else that buying decent brushes is the key. I used to be bloody awful even though I was "doing everything right" then I bought some Windsor Newton Kolinsky Sable brushes in size 000, 00 and 0 and everything sort of came together. Also Nuln Oil wash is cruise control for awesome. It covers a myriad of small evils.

Hmmm, I'll have to remember that brand. I mostly have been using the army painter brushes.

I also should try Privateer Press p3 paints. A few of my friends said they are great. Thou I probably will still use the GW washes.

They're on Amazon for about £7.00 a brush. Also get yourself some B&J brush soap also on amazon. It keeps them lovely and clean and helps maintain the points. It can also breathe new life back into split brushes if you're really patient.

For brushes I picked up the Army Painter Wargamer brushes. All but the largest brushes have triangle handles for easy handling and they are priced excellently, especially since most of them are made with Sable-Kolisnky hair, I think the Regiment and smaller brushes all are. I picked up the Mega Brush set, which was a complete set of 11 brushes for 38 shipped on Amazon. I am also thinking of picking up the Army Painter Mega Paint set, I can get it on Amazon for about 88 bucks shipped and it has all 42 paints they carry. I have used their colour primers a bit in the past and they work great, I also hear their washes and metallics are really good.

Army painter is my favorite brand. I'd highly recommend their mega set. Uniform Grey is the best primer.

Vallejo are my favourite brand of paints especially for earthy colours although i use a mix of different stuff from different companies.

I bet you guys will NEVER GUESS which army I play.

Anyway, I've seen the talk that future Codexes are going to be structured similar to the last Necrons dex, but I haven't seen it nor played against it. Is this true and is it a good idea? And what's the deal with Necrons setting the pace for everything?

I presume this means they will include unique formations, I don't mind this however it means GW will have to carefully internally balance the codices to avoid every army from that book choosing the same units. This is a problem with codex decurion Necrons. Codex Necrons is also a very strong dex and its likely the spearpoint of a new wave of powercreep- while annoying this doesn't bother me too much as with a game as complex as 40k total balance is almost impossible and every race should get its day in the sun (except sob for some reason). What is more important is that every unit within the dex is usable and there are no useless or redundant units- in the past this has been a major problem for CSM's, tyranids and Orks in particular.

Completely unrelated but I said I'd share more as I finished- unfortunately poor lighting and a bad camera has these quite washed out still it's better than nought:
this is the previous;y unpainted squad now painted and based and ready for action!

A hellhound 'The Scorpion' with a modest conversion from an ork kit, the skulls are not that bright irl:

a converted devil dog- the conversion here is more subtle- there is a vat of toxic warp goo in the back, the picture isn't great but irl it looks pretty good, the vat has a thin glaze of pva which has dried clear and slightly reflective like liquid, it wasn't quite dry when i took the pic though!the vatade of three old tea light cases.

the final model is a counts as commissar and suffers the most from the poor light and shit camera irl his skirt is black and his armour has a subtle bronze trim

I hope to have him armed with a tang war pattern power fist, i consider him to be a delegate from another chaos warlord and he may act as the segway into an infantry horde chaos cult army over the winter, epending on what else catches my eye!

There is a 1850pts 40k tournament on 7/11/15 and I intend to enter all I need is 2 LRBTs and one excecutioner- the conversions of which are the next fortnights project. However there is a small (<30models/one monster/one hero) Aos tourney kicking off the local clubs winter AoS campaign (it goes year about here for large 'hexgrid campaigns'and apparently last year was 40k :( ) I would kindof like to get involved but have a very specific theme in mind and two weeks would not be long to convert it :/. I'll decide for certain next week when I see how the LRBTs turn out.

@LazarusOwenhart gonnae show us your £60 score as you paint them? you are probably the best painter in the thread and I'd love to see your boys in blue as they are completed!

@Vitriol I certainly will share. After work I'll take some pictures of the one's currently not soaking in tubs of Dettol (just to show you how thick and awful the paint job on them is) Most of them are Imperial Guard and there's a few Catachan Jungle Fighters in there. There's a sentinal but until I work out wether Dettol will strip the unholy amounts of thick glossy enamel paint off It I don't know wether it's destined to be used or just an interesting wreck on my terrain. I've got two IG tanks, a Leman Russ and a Deathstrike Missile Launcher. Plan for the Deathstrike is to maybe scratchbuild a new missile for it as I hate the fat stubby look of the current one and would far rather it looked like this:
bd6f3767da8415bdb0e98025c0b0d7dd-dmypu4.jpg

There's also a Vakyrie but it's missing it's rear door so I need to replace/manufacturer it. I'm gonna bust this thing to hell. I want it to look like an aircraft that's been through the bowels of grimdark and made it out the other side patched, smoking and bad-ass all the way. Ultramarines wise I've got a dreadnought and some Terminators which, from their setup appear to have come from the Assault on Black Reach box set. There's some scenery as well and I've got big plans for that. Finally as a bonus there was also a brand spankers Librarian in Terminator Armour so I'm looking forward to giving him a go.

Dettol and a toothbrush will strip almost anything short of outdoor emulsion (retarded as it sounds i knew someone who put that on his macragge marines!)

Can't wait to see the valkyrie and scratch built missile, i really like 40k imperial fliers.

It was Catachan bits i used on my gors- they are so out of scale the arms blended in nicely. Are you going to use the jungle fighters alongside the cadians? Quite a few local players use them to represent veterans but the different scales bother me too much!

@Vitriol. I might use a store bought Bristol Bloodhound missile as airfix make a great one and it's just the right size. As for the Catachans, not sure. I might use them as is or I might modify them slightly. All the cadians are gonna be veterans because my army goal is to have a core force of ultras backed by a small company of Cadian armour and veterans accompanied by Adeptus Mechanicus heavies.
