Sounds like they're getting those DMCA companies to get their people start DMCAing channels. I figured they would. Too bad UK has similar copyright law as North America so fair use is still a thing.

I wonder if GW is gonna go after the 40k parody songs eventually.

Not much of a loss if they do since most aren't that good, although I sometimes listen to a Big Iron and Battle Hymn of the Republic parodies if they pop up in a mix

Didn't know they even had any. They never come up on my recommended list. I used to have a lot of WoW fan songs saved but many of those people left and even deleted their music.

This is the type of thing i’d expect from chicks who are “influencers” not some toy company.

It was NOT an automated DMCA. It was NOT a DMCA hunting service. It was manually flagged by GW. Apparently after his review went viral in the 40k community.

Even Valrak is losing his shit about it and openly talking about pirating Warhammer+ content instead of paying for it.

AFAIK the only IP you can actually lose through non-enforcement is if a trademark becomes generic. But I suppose that if GW understood IP they wouldn't have tried to trademark "space marine."
If you don't protect your copyright you can be seen as not protecting your trademarks as well when it comes time to show courts what you've been doing to protect it.

You know that there are services that go out and DMCA channels manually right? They don't cost that much and companies use it because technically you're not supposed to get bots to do it.

Yeah there's quite a lot and a few dedicated channels that make them, like I said most are crap (one channel kind went off the deep end with 40k idols), but there a few gems
