Tomorrow seems to have new reveals scheduled. People are 3 new characters. Most likely characters are Rick Sanchez, Lebrun James, and ?
There’s a small battle pass to unlock for about $5, gets you two extra costume with voices along with random cosmetic stuff. There’s also a free one that gets you a costume and random cosmetic stuff as well.
have y’all seen the $100 one? That shit is insane for coming with practically nothing.

The one that just unlocks everything and gives you a tone of stuff to unlock future characters and everything?

Since it’s not locking characters or perks or anything, I don’t care. If someone wants to waste their money unlocking cosmetics, that’s on them.

yep, if there's one thing I remember from Iron Giant, it's how he loves to fight
like that Area 88 game when Shin's like "FUCK YEAR KILLING PEOPLE!"

Most of his attacks aren’t actually “attacking”, so to speak. One is him doing the canon all, one is him playing with the car, ect.

But you can use his “attack mode”, and that apparently builds up a meter. I haven’t unlocked him yet, so I can’t say for sure.

In regards to that $100 version with all the stuff unlocked, it also gives you 30 “character unlock” coins so you can immediately unlock them.

There are currently not 30 in the game, so there may be a good amount of characters being released when the game is “officially” released.

100$ is too much.

Talking about prices, each character costs 800 currency, which is 8 dollars lol.

Or you can grind and unlock them in 5 days.

The prices are ridiculous!

And it’s a completely optional price. You don’t have to spend money to get the characters. You don’t have to spend any money to play the game.

Hell, they’re all unlocked already if you play local.

Yes, $100 is ridiculous, which means only ridiculous lazy people are going to do it. Like I said before, who cares if they have a $100 thing if I literally don’t have to spend any money to get the stuff?

100$ is ridiculous. Overwatch costed 40$/60$ and you could get every hero up front. Inflation hasn't gone up that bad.

I'll play devil advocate here.
With OW: 30ish heroes with those price. I have no idea if they'll keep releasing new heroes free when OW2 comes out and becomes F2P.

Overwatch starts with 21 characters, while Multiversus starts with 16. OW has entry cost or soon not to be and Multiversus is F2P at the start. It's just nature of a F2P game requires you do some grind or cash out money for unlocking roster (pay to skip, or worse P2W).

Multiverse microtransaction pricing source.
With Multiversus: At start, you have 4 (Shaggy, Haley, Jake the dog and Taz) out of 16 characters unlocked, will be 5 (Wonder Woman) if you finish tutorial.
40$ edition will give you 15 character tokens, a cosmetic item and a 300 gleamium (premium currency). Normal in game currency is called coin.
60$ will give you 20 tokens, 3 cosmetic items (banner, special effects), 1000 gleamium and a premium battle pass.
100$ will give 30 tokens, 5 cosmetic items, 2500 gleanium and 3 premium BPs.

Gleamium price conversion: 5$ to 490 gleam, 10$ to 1000 gleam, 20$ to 2200 Gleam and 50$ to 6000 gleam.
A character unlock requires from 1000 to 3000 coins or just 700 gleamium.
So $40 is still 15 additional chars, $60 is 21 chars (can be more with premium BP) and $100 is 33+ chars more.

The few questions here are:
1) How fast can F2P players grind for coins? Considering winning - losing matches and matches duration.
2) How much is a premium battle pass? Do they give enough coins and gleamium to you to save up for future contents (characters and cosmetics). Usually they cost like $10 in other F2P games
Because usually in other current popular F2P games (Apex, Fortnite), you'll get more in game currency (both normal and premium), cosmetics and faster leveling.
Like in Apex, you spent like $10 for the premium BP, but you get your $10 back at the end and additional $3 premium currency worth at the end of BP.
3) Character balancing. Be real, no game has perfect balance, so the real question is whether balance change is healthy for the game.

Me sucking corporate dick this part.
Since this is a fighting game and be real, no one actually plays all the character. It's surprisingly generous of them allowing you to try locked characters for free in local, other F2P games or even normal fighting games aren't even that generous.
The game isn't a MOBA, so there is no banning character system. You only worry about your teammate already picked your main.
Pretty much every popular F2P games nowaday uses BP as incentive for you to play their game dailies or almost dailies. If players are playing that frequent even without premium BP, gaining normal coins to unlock new characters isn't that bad. They'll have tons of coins and coins may not even be used for anything beside unlocking new characters.
If a casual doesn't play the game that much, the $7-8 price does look bad. Apex Legends also costs around this much for unlocking new character with premium currency.

8$ for a character and 100$ for the whole game is not generous.

My point exactly. Apex isn't exactly the 'fairest' system.

I bet you they changed the model after the movie flopped.
Also.

Double post, but they added some more seasonal quests that give 600 battle pass xp each. So if anyone need the extra boost, they’re pretty easy to get.

Also, if you need advice on grinding BP XP, battle on a team and constantly switch characters. You get bonuses for playing with the same person and not constantly using the same character.

Also, new patch. Taz is getting hella nerfed.

Anyone notice a shift in available characters recently? Now Jake, Shaggy and Harley are locked for me, while Finn, Reindog, Garnet, and Superman are available. I still have progress on the locked characters making it weirder.

Yeah, it’s because the game has essentially “released” now. There’s going to be rotating set of free characters you can play as, and you have to grind gold to unlock the others. But once you’ve unlocked it, it stays unlocked no matter what, even when the free ones change.

Closed beta to open beta, essentially.

Lebron has an interesting moveset, I give them that. But I see the game only going one way, and it's the same way Heroes of the Storm went.

Right now we're in the honeymoon phase. Things are still experimental and new people are coming in. There's no need to change, so there can be super powerful heroes like Superman, who can fly you off the stage, Batman who can throw a flurry of batarangs, Fin who is basically Brawl Metaknight, etc. HotS, LoL, were genuinely fun to play at first, that's what attracted the audience.

When the steady influx of people will stop, it will go into the next phase; this is when the game is no longer new or fresh, pretty much everyone heard about or has tried the game, and the game has made a steady audience. The developers will think that the influx of players stopped because the game doesn't appeal to literally anyone, and needs to be made more 'accessible'. As a result, most 'fun' characters will be dumbed down, interesting mechanics will be nerfed and players opinions will be disregarded in an attempt to captivate the 'wider audience'. The core audience will steadily lose interest and the game will lose players.

Then, the game will reach its life support phase. The core audience doesn't like the game, and new players don't care about the game, so the game will steadily bleed players. As a result, the devs will no longer make content and eventually the game will become irrelevant, and the servers will shut down and match quality will decrease. This is a MMO game, so the devs expect a large playerbase and a constant revenue. If the revenue does not exceed the server cost by a large margin, it will shut down.

But it's fun beating Arya and hearing her complain, "You beat up a child waa waa".

Man, Superman is super positive with his win quotes and everything. I won with someone else play Jake, and he goes “I bet Finn is going to be really proud of you, Jake.” I beat Bugs, and he says “I may have had to fight you, but you still really make me laugh, Bugs.”

Seriously, one of the best things this game did was put the money and effort into the voice acting.

Characters fall in these 3 categories:

Broken: Finn, Batman, Reindog
Trash: Tazz, Iron Giant
Everyone else.
