So here’s something funny. The Multiversus Twitter account put out this challenge to get something a little earlier than planned.

A bunch of people in the comments were bitching about how they should just give it to them now without them having to play, complaing that it would take forever to do so, usual Twitter whining stuff.

Guess what people playing the game managed to do in about 4 hours.

And yes, there is a Get Swifty remix.

God, I hate Iron Giant. Super armor on just about everything giving his attacks priority that can get you to 50% by pressing one button just invalidates most characters from doing anything... and let's give him a projectile shield with up to 5 charges too, because fuck you! I need to learn a character that can deal with him, because the ones I play cannot.

Also fuck teabagging, hitting no in the rematch window is the ultimate flex.
It's not a flex, it's the ultimate bitch move. Winning game 1 and then declining (unless you dominated with a 2 stock) is outright saying you know you got lucky and assume you'll lose if playing again, and the opponent understands that. I'll not do rematches if I lose sometimes, but never if I win.

Finn's backpack is fine once you get used to play and fight him. It costs money, it's can be comboed into anything, its super predictable and leaves him exposed. He's a glass cannon with small body and big sword, if anything his side jab that beats everything is way more cheap.

btw i changed my mind on bugs being high IQ now that i got him, he's super brain dead and you can easily get away with mindless spam, especially on free for all. Everything hits someone and when if you're out of ammo just jump around super fast smack people with a bat.

I dont understand why Bugs is a "mage" when he has more speed, range, dmg and combos than the "bruisers". Pretty much all his air moves are great and apparently the devs already confirmed he'll be nerfed after EVO.

You want a speedy character. In my experience, Reindog, Bugs and Finn are good in catching him on the ground and keeping him there. If he starts spamming the cannonball, get above him and use down attacks. You essentially want to keep moving around him and land projectile hits or dash in close and get him caught in combos. He’s got a massive hit box, so you can keep him trapped for a while. Then back off and repeat once you see an opening.

Oh, and dodge as much as you can to keep him off balance. Most of his attacks have a slow startup, and if you time it right, you can get behind him and attack him while he’s still whiffing.

I really hope they focus on 1v1 instead of 2v2. Sure, some abilities help allies and there's a support class and all, but it all comes down to mindlessly spamming your abilities. There's no strategy and whatnot, just spamspam spam.

I wouldn’t say that. I’ve played enough to tell the difference between when someone Is button spamming/using one really effective move vs someone who knows what they’re doing. That second one usually involves a very long combo mixed in with the other person keeping you pinned down to extend the combo. There’s some long ass combo chains in this game. Fitting since it’s very much based on “do NOT stop moving.”

Yet to see that.

The potential is there, but most of the players are shit.

It is a new game with like over a hundred thousand players. I’m sure a fair number of them are just kids wanting to play as Bugs or something.

Maybe change up the time of day you’re playing.

EDIT: Morty drops on August 9th, Rick will be coming later this “season”.

I'm about to reach the end of the season pass with tomorrow's dailies and am considering dropping some cash to get the premium track, but I have some potential scruples. 300 of the premium currency is pretty cheap to buy in, and $20 buys 2400, enough for this one + 7 such future passes which is a pretty good deal for F2P stuff. That is the issue, however... it being a good deal runs counter to the other prices in the game such as 1,500 currency for some costumes which is ridiculous. Basically, I'm worried they'll jack up that price in the future and instead of a perfectly divisible amount of currency I'll have the standard F2P uneven psychological trap amount.

I've played enough without paying a dime to where I would like to give some financial support, but if it turns money grubbing I'll feel bad about having given that dime as well as cheated with the uneven currency. What do you guys think?

I don't want le Reddit characters... give me Fred Flintstone and the Wicked Witch of the West from that datamine!

Unless there’s costumes you’re really REALLY wanting, I wouldn’t worry about spending your money on that. Though if you’re gonna spend money, might as well go for one of the cheaper founders pack. You’ll pay a little more than you’re planning, but you’re getting a bulk of stuff rather than just a handful of those gleameon or whatever it’s called.

I’m also assuming there will be ways to slowly save up for/earn costumes too. So that’s my advice. I’m planning on spending some cash on the game once I get paid too. I’m pretty happy with it and want to support it too.

Battle passes are not gonna be 3$ in the future. They said this is a smaller BP with less stuff and cheaper.

The meta feels so cheap; stack Coffezilla and I Dodge You Dodge We Dodge on a Mage (Welma, Reindog or Harley will also do) and just throw your shit while dodging as soon as the enemy approaches. Dodging is so low risk and you can dodge out of most combos and run back to safety, that it's very hard for most characters to pursue you, and lock you in a strong combo.

I don't think I agree. I've played Reindog the most getting pretty high ranking for the character (1096 2v2, 2163 1v1) and ranged characters are nothing compared to in-your-face melee. A good Harley Quinn or Bugs get in your face so hard and aggressively, forget even having the time to use a projectile. The top character is also Finn, someone who rarely uses anything outside the melee kit. I even fought a Reindog mirror with a guy who far outclassed me and had every perk setup for speed and he crushed me with 95% melee... as Reindog, he used like 5 projectiles the entire match! My perks are set up for the keep away style and let me tell you, if I am not aggressive with melee as well people easily reach damage in the 200s before a ringout. As you said dodging is low risk... so you just dodge projectiles and punish hard, projectiles are really more of a mix-up then a camping matter with the speed and ease of gap closing of the game.

Going full melee with Reindog really throws people off. Aside from max charging the Crystal up into the aair, I tend to go full melee with him and almost always end up doing 320-400+ damage a match.

Melee with bugs can be pretty strong too. The bat and hammer attacks do really well, especially if you can combo with the safe( or, to fuck with their heads even more, dig a tunnel, slap a safe target on top of it, then smack it with the neutral melee as it pops out the other end.)

WTF is up with the Fred profile icon that they are selling for 50,000 coins? How is this stupid icon worth as much as about 25 characters?

Can you show what you’re talking about?

EDIT: looked it up, it’s apparently going to be tied to the battle pass, so I guess it’s a “play the game, or just be really lazy and pay for it if you want it that badly” kinda thing.

Not sure what game you've been playing lol.

Even when I do good with Taz he feels like shit to play, his tasty debuff goes away so fast and the range on everything but his dogfight and vomit move is awful. You can even get knocked out of your cooldown AOE special by anyone spamming neutrals.
I truly hope they do more than just change his tornado when they buff him.
