Washington’s Warnings Against Partisanship Related to the ‘Illuminati’ and ‘Democratic Societies’ - The Epoch Times

I don't actually think this is that hard of a dynamic to understand. Weirdos like to get together in exclusive cliques to get wasted and say stupid shit to each other that they can't say in public. They influence society specifically because they're places where people who give way more of a shit about this stuff get together and communicate personally. Some implode like the Bavarian Illuminati, others remain like the Free Masons.

Hell, if you want to get creative, you can say this forum (and even some of its rivals) is no different in some respects. Its completely open to the public, but look at the hilarious exaggerations spread about it when its really just a place for neurotic autists to show up and complain about how miserable their professional lives are or what stupid trending news article inflicted itself on their faces this time or what fucking idiot lost their mind on video recently. Just the fact that anyone cares to talk about this stuff casually seems to freak the average person out for some reason.
