In his defense (ugh) a video game is typically 15-60 hours long, compared to a movie (2 hours), a CD (70 minutes) or a meal (1 hour). There is a lot to deal with because of a Video Game's size and how a critic needs to consume them (really fast) vs how a typical player would (maybe a few hours a day/week spread out over time).

To go back to shitting on him though, he's a complete moron. He claims to have a "set of skills" (like he's Liam Neeson in Taken) being a video game critic AND having worked for Giantbomb but he's never apparently had the idea to record and monetize his gameplay to any degree (unlike every Youtube reviewer, Twitch streamer, and Giantbomb employee). Having early access to a game (even an embargoed one) still means you can prepare all kinds of video content and then just simply release it post embargo.

He can pre-make a "Tips and Tricks" video, he can premake a "Quicklook", he can premake a full "Let's play", or he can premake a full review. The fact that he doesn't and then complains about unpaid overtime is absurd. He really needs to evolve with the times.

It's pointless complaining. I don't think having every single Nazi soldier made repulsive and unphotogenic would have made things better. Not to mention people always had the attraction to bad guys as cool, both real and fictional, and they gonna do even if you repeatedly keep hammering them the facts.

Soldiering is a career for many, and those who were drafted literally had no choice. This is also true for contemporary professional militaries like the US has, where you'll easy find many who personally disagree with the interventions in the middle east.

Basically, VICE/Waypoint is ignorantly pushing against the well established methodology which military historians use to discuss these things. Because, muh demand for propaganda in video games.
