We are all one!
"We are all one" is not some hot-air hippie philosophy. *** It is a very simple fact of reality and does in fact stand in opposite to many religions.
Consider these facts:
* There is no atom of you now that was with you when you were born.
* Any form of life will, per our definition of what life is, experience itself as the center of all being, just like you do (even if you are a solipsist this is true in theory).
What conclusions can we draw?
Existence, when shaped in a certain way, starts to experience itself. Think of the Boltzmann brain which is the concept of a sentient being randomly created out of chaos. In the case of our existence, assuming we're not actually a brain-in-a-vat, random events (big bang) has created an environment that becomes self-aware from many different perspectives. That's what we are!
Another analogy:
Think of a stream of water with a lot of whirlpools in it. Every whirlpool is a sentient shape of existence. A whirlpool is something that happens even though it might also be perceived as an object. The whirlpool is a life form like you or me. Whirlpools appears and disappears but the current remains. There is no "death" simply because death is a non-event. There is only a change in the shape of life.

Or... is it? I haven't really presented any new facts or anything else that is not simple every day observation. Yet, this philosophy does not seem to be accepted or fully embraced by most people. We still suffer from fear of death and feel "separated" from the world.
