I totally FUBAR'd myself tonight

I blew my whole power grid and had to spend 2 hours building and re-routing coal power plants to kick start it again. That was 21K MW worth of Coal Power by the end to get the beast re-started.

I couldn't for the life of me figure out what happened for an hour as I knew I was near the limit of my current set up and was in the process of building yet another Turbo Fuel plant to feed in more juice when BOOM! Everything suddenly went down. The weird thing was I hadn't turned on any of the machines yet so why did power draw suddenly spike?

OK so 2 notes;

1. Separate your power producers from the main grid so you can kick-start them with batteries. Don't be lazy and leave it for later

2. When you up-grade the Dimensional Depot by increasing the stack size DO remember all those production lines you made to fill them up WILL kick on at the same time so if your riding the edge while building your next power plant your going to crash.

So yah...lesson learned.
This is why I always always always make sure to keep every production line running at all times. Never let anything stop and you'll always have an accurate measure of your power consumption and a ton of extra tickets.

Holy fuck...what happened to ADA?

She's become a real bitch to me. Don't give me any spoilers please but...damn I want to smack her a good one.
I muted her back in the beta.

Sadly I have not played much of 1.0. At least not as much as I would have hoped. I guess I'm waiting for more content.

I think your missing out on a lot of fun. While Fiscmas is pretty much the same as last year with but a few tweaks the new tiers are pretty awesome. Lots of new toys to play with.

If your waiting for a DLC map it will be at least a year away. Probably longer given how buggy 1.0 still is.

PS: I am pro-skub Fite me

Does noone play this game in multiplayer? It's been completely broken since release and I haven't seen the developers mention it. People don't seem to be discussing the issues much in the various forums.

After you've played the same save for 30-40 hours or so (it depends on how many objects you've cleared, not actually the numbers of hours played) it just stops syncing object destruction to clients, so you can forget about clearing trees or rocks to build things.

I don't personally. I don't mind having someone come in and look around but it's my world and I don't want others fucking it up by moving shit or building something stupid.

But Coffee Stain knows multi-players blows chunks but you gota remember the multi-player was never an intended facet of the game and they only did it due to player demand so it's not a priority when the main game is still bugged to hell.

Xmas Video TLDR:

Snutt is leaving Coffee Stain to do his own thing like Jace so he's gone Jan 1

Coffee Stain put out some official sales numbers.

over 6 million units sold
over 200K concurrent players peak
and a top 100 seller game for 5 weeks
Sales Performance is "well beyond what anyone was expecting, which means there are now possibilities for future options". WTF that means.

There will be DLC sometime soon. What it will be they're still being quiet about but my guess would be new maps/planets maybe. We could play the role of another Fiscit Pioneer on a whole other world doing the same thing.

Console port coming early 2025, that's the main focus for now.

1.1 to hit in February (ish) with performance upgrades as players are building much bigger factories then the Dev's thought they would so more tweaks are coming to keep lag at bay. The usual bug fixes are coming as well as they are trying to nail down what's making the MK2 pipes so fucking wonky.

Here the vid for those who care, it's weird IMHO. I guess cuz they just made some intern make it, not Snutt as he's probably already gone.

new state of Dev dropped today

Snutt is gone officially now and we have some new dude named Miguel as a CM.

He seems...OK? Hopefully he will grow in to the role but he seems...fine.

TLDR: 1.1 is delayed as porting to console is taking much longer then they expected but it is coming and they gave a tiny sneak peek and a few tidbits of info on it.

DLC is coming, he won't say what it is but due to Satisfactory sales performance and constant high player numbers there could be multiple DLC's coming depending on how the console sales go and how well the first DLC goes...so duh? If the first DLC makes money they will make more of course.

1.1 will change a few things, no new tiers...yet. Which is kinda interesting to hear, sounds like they may have up to tier 12 planned and just didn't have time to get it all roughed out for 1.0 or they're doing the typical scummy corpo stuff and holding back content just to charge it as DLC later. So far Coffee Stain has been pretty OK so maybe that's just my paranoia talking but with sales numbers like they got the CEO suite may want to milk us rather then just release it as free updates. We will just have to wait and see. I guess I wouldn't be super pissed as long as the DLC price is reasonable. I have gotten over 3K hours so far out of this game for $45 so a bit more cash may not be unreasonable.

The 1.1 teaser just shows a new hyper-tube set up, allowing for multiple pathways using the same tube system. Which will be nice and you will be able to deconstruction the crashed transfer pods to get them out of the way. That's it so far but Miguel did say it would be a tine peek.

Anyway enjoy!

This is the only way I have played since about version 6 or 7? Never had many major issues but the object clearing issue was one of the few regular ones for my clients.

It was supposedly fixed not too long ago but I am not currently playing.

hmmm Coffee Stain is re-opening the Experimental Branch for folks who want to help test out the new patches.

The post said they are not happy with the way they were rolling out so many small patches since 1.0 so they will go back to doing a large patch every few months and hope that the community will go back to help testing the patches on Experimental like they did before 1.0

Neat! Seems CS is in no way done with Satisfactory yet and even though the port to console is turning out to be "a real challenge" that's sucking up all the time and resources the Dev's still have some big plans for this year.

They also mentioned that player retention is still "very high" and they are very happy about that so I guess player numbers on Steam and Epic are still good despite 1.0 being almost 6 months old.

Came back after not playing since Fixmas. I finally completed Phase 4. If you saw my factories you might cry, as they're all an unbalanced mess. But hey it works and I don't have power issues (for now).
Next step is actually building the nuclear power and whatever madness is in phase 5. I've decided I hate trucks and I'll probably convert any truck line into a convener highway or train.

don't sweat it so much. Everyone plays in their own way, that's kinda the point of these style of games IMHO. Check out LetsGameItOut for his absolutely insane spaghetti builds. He's having fun...I think. It's hard to tell as he went insane after hour 600.

That's one of the reasons I'm not a big Factorio fan just because everyone just copies blueprints from the mod site and slaps them down. Where's the fun in that? I dunno but some people sure enjoy it.

My factory sure ain't no beacon of order and beauty. Fuck I'm at 800 hours and I still haven't even started my nuke plant nor have I decorated anything. But I love it, I work on it when I want and I work on what I want to. I was getting sick of Bauxite so I did some Quartz refining then I got bored of that and did some HMF (75/min baby!).

All in all play the game your way and screw anyone who tried to tell you what's the "right" way to play it.

Personally I never used trucks, I still have PTSD back from when they use to collide, fall through the map and were 99.9999% a royal PITA to use. Trains are my thing. I like seeing them moving about but for my critical infrastructure builds like power and nuke waste disposal everything is belted for security. I'd hate to lose 50 hours just because my trains through put was a little behind what I needed and didn't notice until it was too late.

1.1 teaser dropped

We're getting a tonne of new buildables to help customize your look. I guess so many players built cable bridges that Coffee Stain went ahead and made tools for it.

Plus curved foundations so we can actually make circular buildings now. Seems the player base is split between those who make massive factories and don't give a shit about looks and those who make only pretty factories but do it on the small scale because of the time investment.

The promised pipe building modes are also included with some tweaks to hopefully stop the fluid problems.

Splitters and Mergers that work vertically and thank Jebus single place-able wall holes for belts at long last. No more 1,2,3 belt hole walls anymore.

Oh yah and some sort of elevator for our factories, no more ramps but I have a feeling it still be faster to use either bounce pads or hyper-tubes as the shown elevator looks slow.

There are also Hypertube junctions and what look like accelerators you can place mid tube.

More 1.1 info

I guess Coffee Stain is giving up trying to get everything out at the same time so 1.1. will release for PC before the console game is done so it will be out much sooner then originally said. Much much sooner in fact!

April 1st to be exact...no April Fools joke they pinky swear.

Sadly rain and it's effects will not be in 1.1 like they promised due to engine...stuff I won't pretend to understand but it will be back soon'ish. Maybe...

Anyway like always here's the video

If anyone out there wants to swap game files I'd love too have some feed back on my latest build. I'm building really really big and things are getting kinda out a control so if your willing to take a peak and tell me where my shit is fucked and I am not seeing it let me know.

Finished my 75 HMF factory at last only 900 hours in! Ahead of schedule

Next up Bauxite processing for Fused Frames....I'll check back in next year sometime.

I know I'm the only sad sad man updating this thread but just in case.

Patch 1.1.0 drops June 10th. I can't wait to get back in and finish my 75 Fused Frames per minute project.

Then it's finally onto nukes and maybe I can start to perhaps dream about working on the junk for the next tier.

I am waiting for some more updates and new content before I get my notebooks out and drop another 2,000 hours into a build. My last one was really good so I don't want to do it all again too soon.
