We need to fatshame video games - My 600GB Life

Console vs. PC at this point is nothing but a couch vs. desk debate. PC has its own version of the retarded exclusivity war with the infighting between Steam, Epic, Origin, Uplay, etc, and consoles now have similar config/download issues to what the PC has.
At the very least PC provide much more freedom and choice than consoles. You don't have to pay just to play a game online on PC.

This isn't a new problem. Monkey Island 2 came on 11 3.5" floppies.

Monkey Island 1 on Amiga: leave town and go to map, go to cemetery. Enter cemetery. When in cemetery, go 20 pixels through the gates.
How many disk-swaps is that? They should have a Floppy History Month in schools, young whippersnappers talking about their games needing a 100gb patch once a month to let them play...

Don't you worry, PC will emerge as a tech-LGTBQ+ platform where every store is valid.

Bethesda file sizes have resisted this trend luckily with morrowind being 750mb, oblivion 4gb, and skyrim 20gb.
Fallout 3 and new vegas are about 8 each, 4 is 28gb.
I did uninstall 6 siege recently because it wanted a 80gb patch for a 60gb game.
The trend here is consoles. With the exception of Morrowind and Fallout 4, all of those games are what fits on a single DVD. Vanilla OG Skyrim is 10gb on PC, and I think that includes the HD texture pack they released. Blu Ray holds about 25gb per layer, so I suspect that's where the limit for Fallout 4 comes from.

To echo something from the video I posted. Most AAA dev target consoles, with Ultra setting being either bumping up numbers in a config file (such as shadow resolution or draw distance), or dumping uncompressed assets into the download. Most of the differences are barely noticeable unless it's a side by side comparison. Resident Evil 2 Remake straight up says the various texture settings above medium are "high" with more loaded into memory.

I know I'm repeating myself a bit, but I don't think targeting consoles is a bad thing. It gives me a standard I can build my PC around. Same goes for the Steam hardware surveys. Just go through and pick something from the top of the list in each category that fits your budget and you should be good for years.

This keeps the brazilians confined to their digital third world hovels.

They're barely more sentient than actual animals but they'll still piss on the carpet given the chance.

Sorry bro, not today:
