So let's have another thread for Webcomics.

There's quite a few webcomics out there that started pretty rough, either in story or art, but they managed to really improve over time, so let's give them some credit at least.

Here's a few I want to give props to:

Digger: A finished webcomic that uses a sheer black and white art style, but I've found it's really grown on me, both art and characters.

Paranatural: Props to the author for managing to create an art style that captures the sheer manic energy of this wonderful acid-trip of a comic.

Lackadaisy: Just holy flipping fuck. Lackadaisy. Just look at this shit.
LOOK AT IT!

Anyway, talk about webcomics.

The Order of the Stick went from a forgettable spoof on a now 20 years old version of D&D to an actually funny fantasy adventure.
Too bad his next work is absolutely going to suck.

the fact that this thread is nearly 3 weeks old and only has 8 replies says a lot
It makes sense to me. Video killed the webcomic star, except for the lucky bastards who gained an established audience before 2012.

Unfortunately, while for many they may have improved, it's pretty clear they're just going through the motions at this point because if they end the momentum, they're fucked.

Too early to say, "his next work" will be sometime in the 2040s, assuming he even wants to do a next work as an ailing octogenarian with a crippled hand.
He's definitely a guy who internalizes the middle-class pieties of a repentant neckbeard, but what form that will take in future decades remains to be seen. Maybe escapism will have its turn in the spotlight again by then.

Lackadaisy has always looked good, but WOW, it looks pretty fucking incredible now.

Homestuck, but mostly for the incredible music. I always go back to listen to a few jams every so often, my personal favorite being Princess of Helium of all things. I guess I enjoy the almost melancholic and simple tone, it really gives you the sense that you're standing in what is basically a dead world.

Rigsby, WI and its predecessor Cheap Thrills are pretty good, although the latter is furry shit so fair warning I guess. RW is a reboot of CT, but humanized and better written (although the original was pretty great too, just the author didn't have a lot of experience yet and was pretty young when she started). Interestingly she changes up the style some between each chapter of the comic (in both the original and the reboot) which is pretty neat. Posting here bc it did arguably get quite a bit better from the original to now -- Case's art and writing both improved leaps and bounds over the course of both comics.
