What I wonder, is why those said weebs haven't fetishized South Korea in the same aspects, given that SK has all of those drawbacks that Japan has, but much worse.

I really don't understand why they are like this. Their economic output doesn't justify it and the way Japanese run their businesses is usually pretty inefficient from a capitalist perspective. So whatever they're supposedly spending so much time on isn't even working. They really need to learn to relax.

People complain about USA style capitalism not knowing it's a paradise compared to a country like Japan or South Korea. There is about zero work life balance over there and their wages are not particularly great. No time for relationships, self care or hobbies. The suicide issue is 100% related to this cycle they're in.

There is an expat who makes videos about Japan...from a different and realistic perspective then 99% of the Japan Vloggers. You can learn a lot about Japanese society from him.

Here he talks about that japanese people are working longer, instead of smarter with examples from his everyday life in Japan.

I remember watching a short documentary on Japanese crows and apparently the trash situation in Japanese cities got so bad that the crow population exploded and they became such major pests they had exterminators going around and smashing up nests and killing chicks. This was the early 2000s or maybe the late 90s. I'll post it later today if I can find it again.

While I like getting import games cheap from Japan, I am under no impression that it's an amazingly perfect place. People there are poor, houses are small, work hours are long, and the culture is alienating and uncompassionate while having the veneer of being harmonious and cooperative. I'm happy to keep making my American salary and wait a week or two per game.
