Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I think most companies don’t typically reveal that people that worked with them were into some creepy stuff unless some kind of news story breaks. I feel like the fact they cut immediate contact and work with the guy shows they didn’t support what he did.

I’m not defending RT for letting Vic go, but to go from that to “they put a hit out on him” seems like an enormous reach. I’m willing to give RT more of the benefit of the doubt since they didn’t go screaming on Twitter like idiots about the whole thing like Funi did, save for a couple of people. They’re definitely the more professional out of the two companies.
I never said that they put a hit out on Vic, I was saying it seemed to me that given the circumstances at the time (ie. Monty apparently wanting to leave) that it looked like someone at RT might have put a hit or done something to get rid of him. Monty's death and what was said in Shane's Letter seemed a little bit too coincidental to me.

That said Rooster Teeth's MO with controversy (that being sweep it under a rug) does fit in Vic's case as well as Dreger's.

No, not exactly. They were not going to reveal it AT ALL. It was only when Fragger, a former employee at that point, broke down did the truth come out.
  1. In 2011, Dreger sexual harrassed an underaged fan (female) through text.
  2. Fan sends messages to Fragger.
  3. Fragger talks to and shows Geoff Ramsey Dreger's texts.
  4. Rooster Teeth goes DEFCON 1 and wipe away any association with him from their website and social media (seem familiar?)
  5. Dreger tweets he no longer is associated with RT (most likely forced to).
  6. Fans are like "WTF!" RT replies to every question about it with "He no longer works with us" (seem familiar?).
  7. Dreger attends RTX 2012, controversial events happen and Dreger is kicked out.
  8. May 26, 2013 - Dreger disappears.
  9. Dreger's family reaches out to fans about Dreger's whereabouts.
  10. Fans demand RT to use their network to try and find Dreger.
  11. June 21, 2013 - Dreger's body is found, Burnie makes a post about it, Dreger is memorialized in RvB, Dreger's content is restored.
  12. April 10, 2015 - Fragger comes clean about why RT kept silent about why they kicked out Dreger.
If there's one thing RT is good at it's sweeping controversy under the rug and staying silent about it. I guess we might just see how well they handle things when the controversy is pushed into the spotlight in court.

We can only hope so at least...

I have a question for @LordKaT or any former Channel Awesome personalities that frequent the Farms:
Did you know Beth Elderkin, the author of i09 article against Vic, at all? Apparently, she's helped with some Channel Awesome projects.
I'm not from Channel Awesome, but I first found her and her husband's Youtube channel, Shark Jumping, after it was linked on reddit and I unironically enjoy a lot of the videos there.

She's actually been very involved with Channel Awesome in the past.

She and her husband, Tim Sampson, seem to have been making content for CA since at least four years ago, as shown by this cringey as shit announcement video:

They've had various personalities from Channel Awesome on their various Youtube shows.
Examples (this isn't every instance, just the ones I could quickly find):

Rob Walker:

Pushing Up Roses:

Todd in the Shadows:

They moved to Chicago at some point. I don't know whether they did that to be closer to the Walkers and their production facilities, it would be funny if that was the reason though. More likely it was Sampson's job, though (he has written and taught classes for The Onion, the satirical news site and for Starwipe ).

She had one of the lead roles in a Nostalgia Critic Phantom of the Opera production.
Here's a behind-the-scenes video where her and her husband are shown, as well as Doug Walker eye-fucking her constantly even in front of her husband:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVcayEdifD4

Doug Walker, on their podcast talking about Phantom of the Opera:

Doug Walker also appeared in their videos fairly often:

Doug Walker also announced their marriage on their Youtube channel, but I can't find that video.
Here's the video:

Tim Sampson's resume, from his website:

I mean, that sounds like a pretty average thing for someone who likes their country to do. Seem like a big jump to assume they'll just become subservient to the Social Justice overlords just because of that. But, you never know, I guess.
i've explained before, but they won't. everything about the culture is conservative (the bane of sjws) and corp culture is particularly cut throat in a way not a single one will ever be capable of handling.

the farthest they'll get is sandwhich wrappers at a corner store for the rest of their lives (which to be fair will make them more respected than 15% of the country but that's not saying a lot)

Yeah, Japan seems like a hard country to penetrate, so to speak. Too hierarchical with a bunch of social etiquette to consider.

I'd actually have a tiny amount of respect for her if she said that the Jellybean story wasn't why he got fired AND it was a complete non-issue. However, she had to go on and say that it's "another example" of him being inappropriate.

These people are broken.
I need counseling, this amount of stupidity is traumatizing. I was doubting the story as some gay op Nick fell for anI was even willing to defend the dumb cunt until she confirmed the fucking story was real.

FFS these people are buttfuck crazy, fucking jellybeans!

Quick question:

Did anyone actually see any fucking security at her signing? Someone? Anyone? Who isn't Mr./Ms., obviously.
See this for more info on the guy, this for confirmation by Monica and @1Tonka_Truck showed you were he was on the comic shop.

@damian I'm sure you saw the gift @emspex left, right?
:pinetar:

Except they skipped an important step since a minor was involved in the Dreger situation.
They did not involve the police more, something Fragger regrets did not happen.

In regards to Vic, would RT have involved the police if there was plausible evidence?
Not sure, they sufficient evidence of Dreger's misdeeds and Dreger returned home in Canada.

An account from the general time:
Previously here: http://axnollouse.tumblr.com/post/116072473315/i-am-so-sorry (but is gone now)

I'll just post it here. The tl;dr Rooster Teeth covered up the grooming of a child by a pedophile who worked for them named David Dreger, possibly illegally because it seems at least one person involved had to have been in a mandatory reporting state.

Not only did they cover it up, but the guy ended up dead, so whether he might have lived had there been an intervention is unknown.

These are your self-appointed "moral guardians" fighting for "social justice" by attacking a man for being a Christian.

I Am So Sorry
My name is Brandon. You may know me as Fragger or Axnollouse from the work I did with Achievement Hunter.
While I worked for Achievement Hunter I helped cover up the sexual harassment of a minor.
Most of what you are going to read here is from my own memory. Memory that has become fuzzy over the last 4 years due to increased alcohol consumption due the following information.
Back in 2011, I was laying in bed watching a movie at about 2am on my 360 (a thing I used to do all the time) and I started to getting party invites. After 10 minutes of constant messages I joined the party and was told the following.
An underage member of the site was getting very explicit calls/text message from Knuckles Dawson (aka David Dreger). This person had gotten his number because of the fact that he had publicly tweeted it and this person was a fan.
It didn’t take long for things to get sexual with texts like (After being wished Happy Birthday) “Thanks ;) I’ve already been offered birthday blowjobs already. WTF?”, a text about the size of his penis, “Want me to send you pictures that would get me arrested,” describing the ‘ideal blowjob’ and “If was to see you IRL would you like the possibility of a training session?” This person said no to each of these, he would say he would stop then say something else of a sexual nature later on.
This person was clearly shaken up and did not want to be named and didn’t want anyone to “get in trouble.” I stated that while I would do my best to keep them anonymous, I would have to tell Geoff about this. I asked for an account of what was said to give to him which I received.
The next day I contacted Geoff on AIM and stated that Knuckles (after presenting himself as an employee, which he had been doing for years) had done what I mentioned above.
His response was the following:
Geoff 5:52 pm
he does not work for us
have [this person] contact me via email
I relayed this information and emails were sent. I have no idea what was actually emailed at this time, but I can assume it is either exactly the same or close to what I received. Within 20 minutes of this exchange happening I get a message from Jack stating that Geoff was furious and that Jack wanted help removing every trace of Knuckles from the site and everything that he had access to (Ustream, Twitter, etc) needed to have a password change. Memory is hazy at this point (4 years will do that to you) but if I remember correctly Knuckles tweeted that he left RT/AH and that was that. No mention of the reason why from either party including myself.
Fast-forward a year of intermittent questions about “Why” via all forms of social media to RTX 2012. I had flown myself down there because I had wanted to enjoy myself. While sitting in the AH office a member of the RT staff (cannot remember who unfortunately) came in to inform the room that Knuckles was in town for RTX. Both Jack and Geoff were furious that this happened and that they couldn’t just kick him out because “he was already here.” He later on showed up at a charity dinner and from what I heard got very drunk (I was not there for that and cannot comment on what transpired). There was one more thing I actually witnessed while he was there:
Before the expo hall opened on either the second or third day I saw him at the “Achievement Hunter Lounge” playing Trials Evolution to try and win some tournament. He had convinced some unwitting people that he was important enough to be a Guardian (fan run security type thing. Like the PAX Enforcers) to the point that he had a Guardian badge and shirt. I informed Jack of this fact and he instantly went red in the face, stormed over to Knuckles, took the badge from him and told him to get the fuck out of the hall. He then informed the other Guardians who where watching Knuckles play Trials that he was not to be a Guardian ever again. This would be the last time I saw Knuckles.
Sometime between late May and June of 2013 David Dreger was found dead. Maybe this could have been prevented. Maybe I could have helped this from happening. I will never know this and I have to live with that.

Come to think of it, this has happened a lot.

That thot with the pedophile brother, @MarzGurl with JewWario, and RoosterTeeth.

A list of kickvickers involved in pedophilia and sex predator behavior would probably be enlightening.

Yeah, Japan seems like a hard country to penetrate, so to speak. Too hierarchical with a bunch of social etiquette to consider.
A hierarchy that older companies still maintain. Seniority in older companies is still very much age based. The college dropout millennial who becomes a huge CEO at 22 just doesn't happen over there because there isn't the corporate culture to support it. The company I worked for had a younger president in an industry mostly mired in young people and they still observed more traditional Japanese work culture. The fact there is an entire convoluted grammatical structure in the language based solely on hierarchy speaks volumes to the intricacies of corporate culture in Japan.

You just aren't aggressive or straightforward like a typical SJW play. That shit would be seen as hugely disrespectful.

@damian

If and when a certain person is added, I have a humble request that they receive the name "Oil Change."

Thank you.

EDIT: Even better yet, the oil light. Or the "service engine soon" light.

I fucking hate you so much right now. My car has had the Service Engine Soon light on for days and I keep putting it off, and now here you are fucking shaming me about it.

Catching up on this thread wasn't as tough since not much happened other than idiots being idiots on twitter, but sounds like this new evidence will have an entertaining payoff. Rial and Soye are already losing it, can't wait to see how low they sink.

My money is on it not being a thing honestly because if she had actually gotten any death threats she would have posted them all over twitter already and in their eyes harassment is "didn't believe whamen enough".
My random guess is she filed a police report on a "death threat" which is one of those non-threats like "you should go die" so that when the lawsuit starts going she can pull it up as proof she was scared for her life due to all this.

Even IF she got threats, how exactly is it Vic's fault?
All Vic did was shut up and lawyer up, none of this is his fault no matter how many times you try and cry about it.
It isn't, she and Soye just want to keep saying it's his fault because they love smearing him for anything they can think of.

Is... Toye trying to guilt trip Vic into refunding money? :story: real men know when to accept help you moron. Honestly Nick had many choices on how to burn the soyboy.
It's so shitty. They kicked him from an industry he loved, destroyed his reputation, had decades old "friends" stab him in the back, and now keep trying to bully him into cutting off any helping hand that's offered to him.

Ron’s jealousy and envy of Vic is disgusting.
Ron's story of first meeting Vic made it obvious that's all this ever was about for him.

I mean, that sounds like a pretty average thing for someone who likes their country to do. Seem like a big jump to assume they'll just become subservient to the Social Justice overlords just because of that. But, you never know, I guess.
Welp, I guess I was overthinking it. Sorry dude.
