You can find a san fran jury in Austin pretty easily, so maybe thats his goal.

As a side note, if this is an attempt to influence a jury, what does that say about his faith in his garbage heap of a TCPA?

It's blatant speculation, and maybe he's covering his bases, but at the very least it shows that the TCPA is not ironclad despite the constant jerking off of law twitter saying it is.

The thing with goals is they need to be realistic and achievable. Which puts him right back to overcoming the 'can't find 12 people out of 7 million to seat a jury' problem, public figure or not.

EDIT: And then, why wouldn't an Austin jury pool be as tainted by his media move as a Tarrant County pool?

Let's position it this way... if he felt his TCPA was ironclad and impregnable, why would he feel the need to run to a media publication in Dallas Texas to shift public opinion? If he won his TCPA, the case is over

Two things, if they're favorable to the defense - he wins, he won't want the jury moved.

If they're favorable to the plaintiff because they see how much of a sperg he and the defense are, he'll petition for them to be moved because they're biased against him after reading his sperging article

Color me suspicious. I think the only newspapers still pulling 7 figure subscription numbers are the NYT and WaPo. I can’t see a local Dallas rag doing much different than the Atlanta Journal Constipation. And they are barely scrapping 6 figures anymore.

Okay so I keep seeing the idea that he is trying to get this moved out of county, and I just have to ask. Is it really possible that the defense can request something like that if they are the ones who poisoned the well? I could see them hoping the plaintiff will request it.
 
Of course it’s meant to badmouth Cic, they’re doing a news report 7 months after the initial incident.

Only the defendant could do this, because only the defendant could claim prejudice from it. Voir dire will take care of it anyway. This is just more harassment and desperate spin doctoring to try to justify their paychecks.

I think it's more "play Chupp because he doesn't understand the ulterior moves at play because this isn't playing in a courtroom, but on the Internet".
