The Convention Front
- Vic Mignogna is scheduled to be a guest at Revolution Superfest on May 6th & 7th:

- Collectorama announced Vic Mignogna as a guest on April 29th for their event on June 11, 2022:
A post regarding this decision was made on their blog on May 1st:
OK, we get it. Some of you are quite upset with me for inviting Vic Mignogna to be a special guest at our first Collectorama show. Some view him as a “predator” for showing affection to his fans in a more physical way than they felt comfortable. Or witnessing something that triggered them. Vic has apologized publicly for this, and has changed his behavior at conventions. And he apparently has had some issues with coworkers in the past. The issues at work are between him and the folks he had the issues with. It is truly unfortunate that people cannot forgive, or at the least live and let live.

We, at FANCON CENTRAL care deeply about the proper treatment of girls and women, and would never condone or allow any bad or predatory behaviors from anyone at one of our shows. We also believe that everyone has freedom of choice. This means freedom to attend or not attend a show. It also means freedom to invite the guests of our choice. We have made our choice, and invite you to make yours.

Some have claimed that our brand is at risk, simply for our choice to have Vic Mignogna as our special guest at one show, and not to cancel him because of their beliefs. This seems like an overreaction to me, and I sincerely hope that FANCON CENTRAL will have a life beyond Collectorama. We wish no one any ill will.

On a personal level, both politically and philosophically, I probably disagree with Mr. Mignogna on a great many things. And I am not defending his past. I will, however, defend my right to have him as a guest at a show where I believe he will be warmly received, based strictly on his body of work.

People are people, and no one is perfect. My advice to everyone is to enjoy life as much as possible, as long as that enjoyment doesn’t cause harm. I work hard to make shows that are fun to come to, to try to make life a little more enjoyable for people. We’re sorry that some of you are upset about Vic Mignogna, but your upset cannot translate into my cancellation of him. It’s a bad precedent. I hope you can understand, and even forgive us in the future.
