Weeb Wars - aka The TL;DR Thread & Other Announcements

Before I proceed, I want to thank @emspex for even permitting this post. I apologize for triple posting, but I really wish someone would make updates here other than myself. But, this content is not for me to parade as a triumph through the streets. This is for those who do not want to search through the 1500 pages of the main thread.

The Frontlines of the Weeb Wars (aka the TL;DR Edition)

The Legal Front
- Funimation filed their Rule 11 Agreement

- Casey Erick filed MTQ Deposition Notice and Motion to Compel (not as egregious as the first document, but still terrible as Erick or his assistant misquoted the case documents used to back up this filing):

- Jamie Marchi filed her response:

- The hearing on May 31, 2019, was presided by Judge John P. Chupp with Ty Beard and Jim E. Bullock representing Vic Mignogna and Casey Erick (with a member of his counsel?) representing Ron Toye and Monica Rial. Funimation's lawyer, John Volney, and Marchi's lawyer, Samuel Johnson, were also present in an observatory capacity. Other observers included voice actor Chuck Huber and Tazz (not the wrestler), a member of Nick Rekieta's Discord. Tazz relayed his observations on Discord and @KEK7go transcribed them:

The Convention Front
- Vic Mignogna is set to attend Savannah Mega Comic Con this weekend:
http://www.savannahmegacomiccon.com/guests.html

- Comic Con Ireland announced they are going to feature Vic as a guest (June 22-23rd):
KickVic Brigades tweet swarmed the announcement:
Response archives:
(this last one was a link to one of the ann articles, archived tweet doesn't look quite right)

This includes the blue orca herself:

The Social Media Front
- Anime News Network CEO, Christopher Macdonald, responded from ANN's official Twitter to Hero Hei getting his YouTube DMCA slapped down:
Hero Hei responded back:
Macdonald (under the username Tempest) retreated to ANN's Forums to respond to Hero Hei's response:
YouTubers such as Emosh responded by stating the would post Hero Hei's stream on their YouTube accounts with their commentary:

Turns out even Geekdom101 does not think too highly of ANN:

In a surprise twist, Jeremy Hambly aka TheQuartering responded that he would not only upload the stream without edits, but he was also willing to fight ANN in court over "fair use" content:

Eventually, Christopher Macdonald "apologized" to Hero Hei:

Hey, thanks for doing this kind of stuff. It is good to have all the information stored in a centralized location. It is a time consuming task that needed to be done.

Thank you.

The Convention Front
- Vic Mignogna is having an autograph signing session on the Unlocked app on June 17, 2019:

- Anime Matsuri hosted Reuben Langdon recently on their livestream:

The livestream represented a milestone moment as it was the first to allow superchats.

The Social Media Front
- Shannon McCormick, Rooster Teeth voice actor of Ozpin from RWBY and Agent Washington in Redvs.Blue, as well some other members of KickVic managed to get two Super Lawyers, Akiva Cohen (of the firm Kamerman Uncyk Soniker & Klein PC) and T. Greg Doucette (of the Law Offices of T. Greg Doucette, PLLC), to weigh in on the Retraction Letters Ron Toye shared with Shane Holmberg. This lead to lawyer v. lawyer action over Twitter:
Rekieta v. Cohen

We haven't even begun to comprehend how much milk this case will bring have we?

We haven't even begun to comprehend how much tard cum this case will bring have we?

We're constantly hearing the phrase "well now is when everything will slow down, there won't be having much happen with the case", and instantly someone else decides its time to sacrifice themselves. It's been the constant in this thing for awhile. Rarely there's a weekend or a few days where things quiet down before someone else alohasnackbars themselves.

This whole year has been crazy, in that regard. We're only half-way through, and it feels like we've had something like 5 years* worth of tard cum since January.

Edit: *a conservative estimate

It's only going to get better once the depositions and dicovery are public, we might even get some laughs out of Funimations reply.

Small Update:

Maybe that's the defense? Wear everyone down slowly and systematically with crazy so no one wants to do this again?

Small Update:
The Frontlines of the Weeb Wars (aka the TL;DR Edition)

The Legal Front:
- Thanks to @Soviras for bringing this to Farms' attention, Casey Erick no longer appears on the website of his firm, Kessler Collins:

What this means for the case remains to be seen, but expect an update regarding this matter in the near future.

UPDATE:
The Convention Front
- Super World Con, based in San Jose, California, formally announced Vic Mignogna as a guest:

It is fair to say this is not a single plaintiff v. Defendant case. So with three nutcases flapping their gaping yaws and one or two more who are facing suit soon to join them, it's going to be more entertaining.

Reactions: Evil Bunny
The Frontlines of the Weeb Wars (aka the TL;DR Edition)

The Legal Front:
- Funimation filed their Original Answer Verified Denial and Affirmative Defenses:
- Casey Erick is expected to hand over discovery related materials today, but some theorize he might file the TCPA instead. Stay tuned.
UPDATE:
Casey Erick left the Kessler Collins law firm and joined the law firm of Cowles & Thompson, P.C. as a Shareholder:
What this means for the case remains unknown.

The Convention Front
- Anime Matsuri is this weekend and Vic Mignogna is scheduled to be there for his seventh appearance. Additionally, Reuben Langdon (motion capture and voice actor for Devil May Cry's Dante) makes his debut appearance at Anime Matsuri. Also appearing are Nick Rekieta, Ty Beard, ThatUmbrellaGuy, and Hero Hei, most of which are scheduled to host a panel called "For the Fans" on Friday at 5:00 PM. Anime Matsuri plans to stream the panel on their YouTube channel. Be sure to follow the activities on the thread @JosephTX created:

- A friendly reminder, Todd Haberkorn is doing an autograph session over Unlocked on June 13, 2019:

The Social Media Front
- Nick Rekieta said in a recent stream that someone allegedly from BuzzFeed is related to impersonating someone working for his law office, Rekieta Law. As of right now, the Farms are not sure who exactly it is but Rekieta said the perp is a lolcow with a thread here on the Farms. Draw conclusions from there.
- Beard Harris Bullock Hughes released a statement on Twitter that indicated that someone was impersonating their law firm and told the public to exercise caution:

- Voice actor Jamie McGonnigal, a known KickVic advocate, reached out to GoFundMe CEO Rob Solomon and stated the #VicKicksBack GFM violates the Terms and Services of GoFundMe:
It remains to be seen if GoFundMe will act on McGonnigal's urgings.

Jamie is using Shane as his cited source? Talk about the blind leading the blind.

The Frontlines of the Weeb Wars (aka the TL;DR Edition)

The Social Media Front
-In an act of betrayal a KickVic member has turned heel (see edit#2) and informed the world of a secret discord group dating back at least as far as 23rd of February. The discord is thought to be the one feeding Shane information during his laughable 'debate' with Nick Rekieta.
-Members include Shane, Dominique Skye (posting as I'mthatbitch), Sarah Jean Maefs-Heiss, Allison Crooks, Emmett Plant and Jamie Marchi (posting as She Devil). Marchi is seen agreeing and replying to a statement that it's nice to actually coordinate with 'I know' and is at least jokingly seen to be the boss. Around the 24th of February discord server invitation links are closed to all memebers apart from Marchi and the Admin.
-Shane has a thread and account here, Dominique Skye attempted IRL gay ops at KamehaCon and with her friend Sarah posted this viral #kickvic picture. Allison Crooks is Jamie's Facebook editor. Emmett wrote a fanfic/smear piece for his tumblr blog. A member is seen talking about giving Jessie Pridemore an invite and other suspected members.
-Gay ops shown include debate information, attempts to get the gofundme shutdown and planning co-ordination. Current gay ops are trying to gaslight, blame and silence the leaker, pretending you weren't a member, DFE, and back peddling.
-Leaker has said they'll post more so i'll update if they do.
-UPDATE: Jessie Pridemore said to have been talking with ANN and was pissed off that they either didn't run her Todd story or removed him from the Vic story. It appears she was a member of the secret discord (wasn't sure earlier due to lack of dates and potential of a different discord).

-UPDATE 2: Removal seems be related to Emmet being kicked from the discord.
-Ron's back to tweeting and has screenshot and sent to his lawyer Nick smoking with Ty and Vic as well as being gifted jellybeans. He will not be harassed have a nice night.
-Vic met Nick Rekieta for the first time

-UPDATE 3: More leaks from the secret discord have dropped. Ally C (Jamie's facebook editor) is shown establishing rules for people to follow. Includes No information pertaining to Jamie Marchi leaving the server.
-Dominique Skye seen questioning Marchi as to her correspondance with Ron, Re: ethics complaints vs Nick/Ty and Marchi's direct attempt to shut down Vic's GFM.
-Jamie Marchi publicly supporting and encouraging followers "dragging" (read: harrasment) of a convention that dropped her appearance.
-Shane continues to be an idiot.

The Convention Front (update 2 Continued)
-Anime Matsuri has been a hit for Vic, with hours long signing lines and packed panels. (I'll update more about AM if they put some numbers out)
-Boycott Anime Matsuri has been passing around photos claiming it was empty. Kiwi's on the ground reported as false and had a good time
-Reported KV gayops has been revealed to a possible intoxicated guy missing signature cutoff and cutting the line

Format kept similar to other updates, big ups to @Nontransferable for some amazing digging. :semperfidelis:

- A pair of KicVic troons known as The Violet Wanderers interviewed Super Lawyer T. Greg Doucette about Tortious Interference [Bring Something to Drink. Stupidity Levels are Over 9000]:
- Please welcome @Svetlana to the Farms. She speaks to Vic Mignogna in IRL and dubbed an Honorary Amazon by The Beard himself.
- KickVic recently tried to associate those who support Vic Mignogna (and the Farms) with Brian Isaack Clyde, the shooter in the recent incident in Dallas, Texas:
Among them being D.C. Douglas:
- the man-faced Jennifer Lynn Hunt aka the Professional Contrarian hinted at a potential gay-ops in the works against Nick Rekieta:

As a result, they consulted a shocking source regarding the next steps to take: Margaret M. Dean, the head of Ellation animation studios and president of Women In Animation.
