Weeb Wars - aka The TL;DR Thread & Other Announcements

The Frontlines of the Weeb Wars (aka the TL;DR Edition)

The Convention Front
- Vic Mignogna is a guest at Bubba Fest this weekend.
Also attending are Nick Rekieta and notable IStandWithVic YouTubers Yellow Flash, ThatUmbrellaGuy, PerceptionCheck, and others.
@Svetlana (Lisa Hansell) is also going to be involved in a Star Trek Continues Q&A with Vic at the convention (so, technically there is a Kiwi on the ground).

@Svetlana made a report of the number of fans that visited Vic:
Vic's total fan count was just over 600. There was a non-stop sea of people in line, most waiting about 2 hours.

And Lady Rackets is my new bestie :)

The Social Media Front
- One Piece fan and member of KickVic, Mr. ZerO (M.O.) (Twitter handle is @Crocodile_op), wrote an article on Medium under the alias Malik Jackson-Bryant that critiqued the KickVic movement. The people he critiqued, such as Dominique Skye, did not too kindly to the criticism
(Courtesy of @NadeND-001):
https://kiwifarms.net/threads/weeb-wars-animegate-kickvic-vickicksback.53670/page-2392#post-5213996

- The claims Jennifer Lynn Hunt and her friends made regarding Vic Mignogna and a prank pulled by Todd Haberkorn at ACEN 2012 fell apart at the seams as video evidence was discovered. Special thanks to @Nontransferable for compiling everything:

- Shane Holmberg decided to pay The Farms a visit, again:
In the past, Shane usually did this when something major was about to happen involving around the case.
Theories range from @Not A Bug appearing on a recent stream with Hero Hei:
to Sharon Grigsby of the Dallas Morning News stating she was going to be at the September 6th TCPA hearings (thus, another article) (courtesy of @theworstkindofeurofag):

- John Michael Kelly was featured on a stream with Senpai's Home:

- UPDATE (08/25/2019)
@EriMin was interviewed by Hero Hei:
[will insert archived stream later]

This follows her interview with Deep Humor:

The Social Media Front
- Certain DMs were leaked between a fan and Chris Sabat from late March that labeled Vic Mignogna's fans as "autistic" and accused them of slandering the DBZ voice cast because "they'd rather watch the world burn instead of accepting Vic is actually an asshole."
ISWV YouTuber Yellow Flash was soon made aware of the leak:
Yellow Flash soon released a video on the subject:
[VIDEO WAS DELETED BY YELLOW FLASH]
Sabat claimed he was referring to Kiwi Farms and that the DM was from when he got doxed:
Nick Rekieta was another person who received the uncensored version of the DMs (as did Ty Beard):
Rekieta countered Sabat's claims:
Rekieta planned to bring it up in his next livestream:
During the stream, Nick Rekieta invited Chris Sabat onto the show.
However, there would be the condition that Sabat answers the following questions (courtesy of @TexOffender):
So preloaded questions for Sabat:

How many cons have you been banned from? Why?
What interesting casting decisions have you made? Why?
Are there any interesting people you have made phone calls to, late at night, during conventions, that maybe you shouldn't have?
Why did you make those phone calls?
Most importantly, what did you do to Sean Schemmel? Why?

- John Volney, Funimation's lawyer, filed a Response to Plaintiff’s Motion to Strike or Disregard Defendants’ Late Filings (courtesy of @Make Anime Illegal):

The Social Media Front
- @JosephTX proved to be a mad lad by actually going to the Tarrant County District Clerk and picked up court documents regarding Ron Toye's divorce records:
He provided what he had to Nick Rekieta, who in turn gathered the remaining documents.
Rekieta went over the first of which in the following stream:
Ron Toye's abusive nature was revealed and Rekieta stated he planned to drag this out, document by document, in following days.
UPDATE: KickVic went on full defense regarding Ron Toye.

- @EriMin signed "a very interesting piece of paper":

- Anthony Gramuglia wrote an article about Weeb Wars (and ComicsGate) on The Mary Sue:
Gramuglia used @MarzGurl, Renfamous, comic artist Kwanza Osajyefo, and Tim Doyle as sources.

UPDATE (09/04/2019):
- Lemoine sent a letter to Judge Chupp with the Black Binders:

The Social Media Front
- Stephanie Nadolny, former voice actress of Kid Goku and Gohan in the Funimation dub Dragon Ball franchise, made some rather interesting "likes" on Twitter:

And some intriguing tweets:

Nadolny's Twitter activities come just days after Chuck Huber's affidavit alleged Chris Sabat of conducting a "casting couch" at Funimation in regards to female voice actors.

- ThatUmbrellaGuy announced Stan Dahlin will be on his stream on September 5th:

- Shane Holmberg once more graced The Farms with his presence:

- Dakota Hutchins (known by his usernames CoolerDakota and AnimuSushi) set up a fake GoFundMe that seemed to be a duplicate of the Vic Kicks Back GoFundMe set up by Nick Rekieta, which is fraud:
Nick Rekieta was notified of the legit autist's antics:
After getting caught, Hutchins apologized:
Rekieta accepted the apology:

- Rachel Moonbutt may be responsible for creating a second Stephanie Nadolny account Facebook:
This Nadolny account claimed that she had been hacked in a DM with Moonbutt.
Curiously, the second Nadolny account disappeared shortly after.
[See next post for more information about this event]

The Social Media Front
- Reem AJ (@RereStone on Twitter) leaked DMs from Monical Rial, in which hinted that Chuck Huber claims in his affidavit about a "casting couch" may indeed have merit:
More leaks soon followed:
(courtesy of @NadeND-001 for arranging the DMs in proper order):

- Monica Rial went on a Twitter rant about Vic, the Vic Kicks Back, GoFundMe, needing to double-check doxing ThatUmbrellaGuy, spreading false rumors, and Stephanie Nadolny:
Needless to say, she was in "damage control" mode.

(courtesy of @Nontransferable and @3 Cucks None The Richer)

The Legal Front
- In the TCPA hearing, Judge Chupp reviewed Jamie Marchi's TCPA and Ty Beard failed to give proper context in his response. Thus, Marchi was dismissed from the lawsuit. Marchi took to Twitter to celebrate the occasion:
Furthermore, Chupp shockingly dismissed the charges of Tortious Interference (both With Existing Contract and Prospective Business Contract) against Monica Rial and Ron Toye. However, Chupp felt he needed to review the charges of Defamation and Civil Conspiracy in regards to Funimation, Rial, and Toye (much to the chagrin of the remaining defendants).
Vic Mignogna's counsel still has the option to appeal if need be, but time will tell what Judge Chupp ultimately decides.

UPDATE (09/12/2019):
- Matt Hullum, CEO of Rooster Teeth, announced that they downsized 13% of their staff.
Hello everyone -
Today has been a tough day at Rooster Teeth, and is unlike any other moment of organizational change we have experienced together. As we looked ahead at all of our upcoming opportunities and challenges, we had to make some difficult decisions about how we are organized. Unfortunately, this meant that earlier today we reduced the size of our team by approximately 13% overall. This decision is not reflective of anyone’s individual performance, and we’re thankful for all that our former colleagues have contributed. We will be doing everything we can to ease their transition, including helping them find their next opportunities.

As discussed during your department meetings, our managers have adjusted their teams to meet the needs of our future. Our industry is evolving rapidly, and we have to evolve with it if we want to succeed. As we begin a new chapter, we have the opportunity to focus on what we do best: creating great content for our community and partners, supported by key lines of business including advertising, distribution, memberships, events, and e-commerce.

We've accomplished a lot this year already: gen:LOCK and Immersion have both debuted successfully on TV, we’ve announced new content partnerships with DC, HBO Max and others, and we continue to produce the amazing programming that brings joy to our community every single day.

We can look forward to more success along this path: continuing to grow our relationships within the WarnerMedia family and beyond, and finding new platforms where we can continue our pioneering creative work in gaming, animation, and comedy.

With many teams moving to new office space tomorrow, we will meet briefly on Monday to discuss these changes further. I look forward to seeing you, as I always find renewed confidence, optimism, and excitement in our mission when we come together as a team.

Finally, I want to wish all our former co-workers the very best. We’re thankful for the passion and creativity that they brought to Rooster Teeth, and grateful for the friendships we’ve formed. I have been fortunate to work closely with many of those leaving today, and I’m sad to say goodbye, but also incredibly proud of what we accomplished together.

Unfortunately I will only be there Saturday so I'll miss Vic's panel on faith and fandom or whatever it's called the following day. Someone else on Nick's stream said he was going so maybe if I meet him I'll ask him to record it.

What do people want to know from the con?

The layout. Maybe you can upload a PDF of the program guide (if that's available), pictures of Vic's line, or some noteworthy things that happen during the con? Things of that nature.

Program is already available on Facebook but I'll definitely show lines and stuff.

In general, how Vic looks like (happy, tired, energetic, etc), how long his lines are (especially when compared to some of the other guests), general atmosphere, how his fans look, etc. Keep an ear out for any possible gayops. Don't involve yourself, but observe and record if possible.

First and foremost, have fun. Because cons are for the fans.

Oh, try to get a picture of Vic's pants. That way we can know if he's using a body double, because no one else would wear pants that gay.

Well I'm getting a picture with him so I'll get to see those pants up close baby. I c

I'm not going alone either and the purpose was never to be a KF informant. I just saw he was going to be close enough to me and I thought I gotta go give him support.

I reserve my right to tell someone to fuck off if they're harassing anyone or trying to fuck up the con. Highly, highly doubt that will happen. Not about to do any powerleveling and video myself fighting Renfamous or something. But yeah I don't want to get involved in anything unless someone is ruining things for other people.

Will likely ask the con runner if they would mind providing final numbers for Vic's line after the weekend.
