UN WEF Speaker Claims Coffee is Environmentally Destructive - today in clown world banning coffee is good

During a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland last week, Swiss banker Hubert Keller said coffee production is bad for the environment and is exacerbating climate change.

“The coffee that we all drink emits between 15 and 20 tons of CO2 per ton of coffee,” he said. “Every time we drink coffee, we are putting CO2 into the atmosphere.”

This assessment came after another WEF speaker described fishing and farming as environmentally destructive activities. The same speaker advocated for destructive activities to be recognized as “ecocide” under new international laws that would punish crimes against nature in the same way genocide is prosecuted. The WEF has also advocated for plant-based diets, the widespread use of electric vehicles, and the introduction of “tiny homes” to replace traditional dwellings.

Keller went on: “And one of the reasons is because most of the coffee plantation or most of the coffee is produced through monoculture and monoculture is also affected by climate change… The quality of these natural assets is deteriorating quite rapidly.”

Keller is a managing partner of global wealth management firm Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch, a bank deeply committed to Environmental, Social, and corporate Governenace (ESG) philosophy. But he is not the first person at the WEF to attribute climate change to coffee.

In 2016, the WEF put out a blog post about the deleterious environmental effects of coffee cups, single-serve coffee pods, and other things related to coffee consumption. “Is your coffee addiction destroying the planet?” the WEF asked.

For you, not them of course. The more refined constitution of your betters requires a much more comfortable lifestyle.

Funny seeing a revival of the medieval sumptuary laws in action and even funnier seeing how the new Church has brought back indulgences in the form of carbon offsets. On the road to serfdom one step at a time.

I can MAYBE give a pass to monoculture being generally bad and third world cash crops, like coffee, are hotbeds of exploitation and other not-so-nice things, but this feels forced. It’s like Keller played spin-the-bottle in the lobby, it pointed at the coffee dispensers, and he decided to make his speech on how coffee is terrible.

My response to this would be to point out almond orchards, chocolate plantations, sugar cane, or even corn and soy farming to be made into Impossible™️ Meat and high-fructose corn syrup to be dumped into everything.

I hate Keurigs
The K-cup is emblematic of modern consumerism and all of its ills. We've taken something that worked perfectly fine and found a way to make it worse while including even more disposable plastic and Chinese-manufactured electronic bullshit you have to pay for all so that we can put convenience on a pedestal.

I'm not going to stop buying coffee, both for myself and my business, so fuck you. I go through several tons a week. And I don't buy fair trade, and I can count the number who've asked on one hand, and I remember them mostly because I always get a lecture. I don't go to their jobs and slap the dicks out of their mouths and I'm not going to listen to a lecture from a sheltered 18-25 year old 1st world woman, either. So I just excuse myself by telling them I'll think about all they've said.

I don't do Keurigs, though. French Press for me. We offer it in the shops, too, though it's not as popular as just brewed dark roast. We don't do keurigs at all.

Coffee is plant based.

Here I thought this would be about forests cut down to make more cash crop land or something logical like that. It's just some unhinged vegan's delusions.

As for tiny homes, why do they have to be tiny? Small homes already exist. You can make smaller living spaces without it being a closet with a loft and compost toilet. It's going way too far and the one linked in the article looks like a stairwell. Who wants to live in that? Plus these things are not really considered affordable housing. They aren't going to the people that need them. They're for "green" hipsters that get Starbucks takeout cups six times a day. When they get tired of hitting their head every time they want to use their compost toilet they get daddy to pay for an upscale apartment in NYE.

Who wants to live in that?
'Elites' who think you exist soley to serve them. You being happy and experiencing pleasure is an affront to them, because they can't be happy dining on steak knowing you can get one too. They want you cold, living in a sardine can and exist only to work and, when you've outlived your usefulness to them, disposed of. That is the end goal of these 'people'

If you don't grind your own beans, you're a nigger.

This crap reminds me of all the FOTM gun grabby legislation constantly proposed by assblasted leftoid lawmakers. Any proposal forsakes the "problem" (niggers shooting niggers everyone with unregistered, stolen, or otherwise dubiously acquired handguns) in favor of antagonizing law abiding gun owners. Criminals don't care about the law and grabbing every "autoglock rifle-fifteen forty seven" wouldn't make a dent in gun crime. The objective is to disarm threats, not stop the crime.
Instead, here we have soypeople and consoomers drinking non-Tweek Bros coffee from pods and disposable cups but this is clearly a potshot at the coffee drinker who grinds their own beans and brews their own coffee in a French press, just as the Lord intended. Starcucks and Dunkin Donuts and Keurig would continue to operate as normal because they worship at the WEF altar and this is all a ploy to funnel more funny money into their coffers. Small time roasters would be fucked. Who is the bigger envirommental offender, the megacorps who use tons of packaging and disposables, or the people who buy a sixteen ounce bag once every other month?

Fucking THIS! My Fiance bought one of these stupid fucking Keurigs and convinced me to toss my ol' faithful coffee maker out and it is an all around worse experience. With my coffee pot I'd only have to wait around 4 minutes but I'd have multiple cups of coffee ready to pour. These stupid fucking keurigs make you only wait a minute and a half but you get only a single cup out of it. So it's left us waiting and taking turns to get our drinks and I just hate the fucking thing so much... Also k-cups don't last anywhere near as long as a container of coffee grounds.

Also fuck the WEF.
