Weight loss support thread

Still, I'm genuinely curious.
I dunno, I’ve been doing the stuff I mentioned in the original post- limiting my calories is most of it.
I bought a new gallon-sized water bottle to make sure I’m keeping track of how much I drink daily.
I’ve also been doing a couple things that supposedly boost your metabolism, but who knows how much that’s actually had to do with it?

I entered college and I lost 20 pounds. I went from 260 to 240. now, no matter what I do, I can't drop below 240. I am just stuck. My main issue is a sedentary lifestyle. Even a whole week of working out more than i ever have didnt budge the weight at all.

I've cut down the drinking (Michelob ultra and clear spirits if I need to) and started exercising off and on through the day. Down a few pounds. I think the beer was my main problem, because I can still eat sugary stuff like ice cream now and it has practically zero effect.

Using oats instead of flour in recipes is great. I got a spice/coffee grinder, and it’s really easy to make your own oat flour.

I’ll try your cookie recipe today (minus the dark chocolate because I’m a huge baby who can’t eat bitter things), although I can only have half of one cookie. My roommates will enjoy the rest, I’m sure.
Yeah tell me what you think about it, I didn't invented it though but translated it from a french recipe found online.

Don't be disheartened if you don't lose that much every week. First month you stop retaining a lot of water so while you're losing fat you're losing out extra water but that tapers off of you keep your metabolism running higher

I know this isn't exactly a conventional or even necessarily health way to lose weight but I lost 25lbs as a teenager taking Adderall XR. One of those pills would wipe out my appetite for 8-12 hours. The thinnest I've ever been as an adult was on Adderall XR's. I think I was 125 lbs 5'9". My doctor would weight me before appointments and she got mad at me lmao

Sorry if this is powerlevel but I am 5'7 and 173 lbs or about 1.75 m and 78.5 kgs, so am I fat?

Probably overweight but bmi is dogshit, you could be swoll. I'm guessing since you're asking you know which it is, really
I mean I used to work out a few years ago. I have a beer gut but I am not fat anywhere else. Nobody ever really called me fat (probably because I wear a lot of thick jackets cause its cold where I am) but idk I'm just glad I'm not a 400 pound hambeast landmonster.

Unless you're an athlete or bodybuilder with a decent amount of muscle mass, yes you're too heavy.

Yeah, BMI doesn't work if you're working out because muscle is heavier than fat (Hulk Hogan was something like 315 lbs. at one point which would put him way over the recommended BMI)
If you're just an average person, it's fairly accurate.

Down to 243 elbees now, I'm currently doing a water fast (either 5 or 7 days, we'll see) with limited exercise and will continue with my usual training routine and nutrition a couple of days after I'm done.
Aiming for 200 as my goal weight.

Update: 202 now, stupid plateaus...

First time poster in this thread and i'm looking for advice.

Until a month ago, i've done minimal work to lose wheight since it steadily went down since i got this new job, but now i want to slim down even more. I've started to skip lunch (except on fridays. I need to eat some fish every week at least) and i only have dinner (fruit or cereal and a small sandwich) and breakfast (bread and butter with orange juice). This not also was an effort to lose wheight, but also to save up since i look more often for sales at the supermarket, specially in the fruit section since nectarines and apricots are for sale at this time of the year. As for exercise i do between 10-20 km of bike every day, sometimes even more if work demands it because there are bike paths everywhere and the land is flat.

I have yet to wheight myself, but last time i did i was at 93kg and physically i'm healthy even if my family says that i'm a fat fuck. Any advice i should consider on this matter?

It's been an up and down battle, but I've become a lot more resistant to temptation whenever surgery food finds its way in the house (my parents have people swing by so often for a night's stay we might as well be a free hotel). Last slip ups was about a third of a cheese danish cake, and an alfredo pasta dish at a restaurant, but otherwise I've gotten a lot better about avoiding carb-laden junk.

I did skimp on exercising for the past week, but I started my routine back up today so I've proven I can bounce back and not permanently slump and give up like I used to. I'm remaining below 220 pounds though it all so that's encouraging, just gotta keep at it to my goal (190-180).

thats not an health issue if you can do 20km with a bike without problems.
maybe trim the fat with some training if you want to look better.

When i go back home i should ask in the local gym for some training. I already do 50 sit ups and push ups every day, but maybe it will take more than that

it sounds like you have a more square body frame. so anything to build muscles will be fine. Its alot easyer to get in a better looking shape for you because you dont need the bodyfat % very low.
