Weight loss support thread

Have you tried intermittent fasting? What about lifting?
Give a shot to the oats, too, should be filling for a long period, unlike a salad.
I read in article on the subject (intermittent fasting) that it isn't as good for women as it is for men. I'd have to get a gym membership for lifting since I have very limited room in my apartment (I'll consider doing that when money isn't so tight), but I will give oats a shot.

I tried to start losing weight last year, and succeeded, losing 20 pounds just by counting calories and keeping a hard limit of my intake around (2000 cals a day) but i totally quit once October started and am only now getting around to considering it again. Anyone have advice for getting back into the swing of things?

I do have a problem myself; I kept letting myself eat even from not being hungry. When this happens I let myself eat shit I shouldn't probably be eating because I want to be lean and have abs.

Try finding some other activity to keep you busy. Like, go out for a walk, exercise, sex, or play a video game or read a book.

Today was my cheat day. Didn't go too over the top (just a pizza). I can't tell if I have a shitty scale or not. It seems to be off by 10 lbs (it's under 10 lbs) and it's fairly old and I have no idea how to calibrate it. I weigh myself one day and it shows 200 lbs. Next day is 203 and my diet didn't change at all.

Take a dump and see if that changes anything.

I only weigh myself in the morning after taking a leak and wearing nothing but a speedo.
taking leaks is only going to shave off ounces, not pounds

especially when your weight discrepancies are probably just fluids and shit in your system moving around or something.

Have you tried any other scales to compare against yours to see if it's busted?

I've compared it to other scales and it's always 10 lbs off.

So thanks to medication and my own retarded bing eating I’m up to 160. Best way to drop the pounds other than stop being a fatty?

You're supposed to weigh yourself naked, in the morning, every day. After peeing, if you have to, but it shouldn't matter that much. You weigh yourself several times and average those for a daily weight, and you average your daily weights to get a weekly weight, and the weekly weight is what you consider to be your actual weight.

This advice kinda goes to everyone interested-

Take you height, find what your ideal weight is, and look up the basal metabolic kcal intake you need

For example, I'm 5'7, M; I should be 150 lbs. When I started losing weight, it was in March'19, and I was a sad 260 lbs. I started counting my calories and would stop at 1,500 a day. I didn't change what I ate, only how much, and by the start of August I was down to 215.

It'd be dishonest for me not to mention this, but I acquired an Adderall prescription at the start of October, and at that time I weighed 210. Now in Feb 2020 I'm about 185-190.

A pound of fat is 3,500 kcal, so whatever your deficit is, you should be keeping that in mind when you see your progress slow down. Even when you're eating at a huge deficit like I am, I'm still losing less than a pound a week. It doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong, everything is working correctly, it will just take time, or you need to work-out more.

Man so I've lost a good amount of weight over the past year, but now I'm at a point where I gotta get serious about the workout game.

My problem though is I'm a goofy fuck with 0 form and I feel like I'm doing more harm than good doing every workout. I tried going the wii fit route but my feet are too big for this board designed with gooks in mind.

Are there any alternatives to having a 'personal' workout outside of actually having a trainer?

Been losing my "winter weight" pretty quickly this year. Should be down to 210lbs by the end of February and down to 190-200lbs by the end of April if I'm lucky.

You could check into workout apps that are out there. I haven't tried them myself though. I had to hire a personal trainer to help me out due to all of the various injuries I've sustained over the years and didn't want to hurt myself further.

Okay, I can't break 210 lbs. With my low carb diet I've been staying around 100-150 carbs per day with 1 cheat day per week. This doesn't seem to be working so I'm going to try 50 carbs a day and only a cheat meal per week. And buy myself an accurate scale tomorrow.

I bought another scale and it shows my weight as 186. The older one I have shows it as 202 ATM. I lost the instructions for the other one but I don't think the new one can be calibrated.

Update: so far I lost 3-4 lbs. Difficult to determine exactly because of my scale(s). So far 50 carbs a day is working and it's been extremely difficult because we've had back to back potlucks at work.
