Aah, I meant eating dried rose hips or putting them in a smoothie. I get your point, though I thought that maybe, just maybe, you were thinking of rose hip oil. That one will only cause a miscarriage shooting out of your ass and mouth.
Where I'm from rose hips are eaten in some for or another, dog rose might not be the prettiest rose but it produces the best ones and the bushes survives outdoor winters where it gets below -40 with no problem, they should also be picked after the first frost hits and in warmer climates that's not possible or the frost comes too late in the year.
It's mostly eaten as a soup and the soup is a staple in kindergarten. I prefer breaking down crisp rye bread into it but here's one with a piece of vanilla ice cream, that's also good.

Or it can be served in a cup/glass, cold or hot, that's good too. I've never tried mixing it with booze though, hm...

I'm pretty sure they sell it(nyponsoppa) at IKEA's all over the world for anyone curious to try it without committing to picking them and learning the harsh lesson of why gloves should be worn then cleaning them.
