I've had recurring dreams where the human figures in my dreams don't fear death even when I threaten them with weapons.
I always have these dreams where I'm fighting someone with weapons or not, or being attacked by some animal like a lion or a pit bull, but somehow our attacks on each other are totally ineffectual. Neither of us are afraid of the other and neither of us notice that this is weird.

I always find guns do nothing in my dreams, whether against humans or monsters. At best they knock the target away for a while before they reappear unharmed a few seconds later. They never even bleed. That's why I prefer to kill things with bladed weapons in dreams. That always makes them actually bleed and react in pain, and die permanently.

Oh the weapons work in dreams where I use them, the dream characters just don't seem to notice I'm literally pointing a gun or knife at them even as it's pressed against them.

Back on topic after a nap-

Dream 1: I'm standing in an area that can only be described as a flooded cul de sac, on the roof of one of the houses. There's a weird diffuse blue-green light in the area, like how the sky turns green before a tornado. In the middle there's a "tornado"? made from small glossy black shapes that at various points in the dream look like leeches, fish, tiny dolphins (???), and leaves. Despite the fact that this column is easily 30+ feet tall and constantly churning with these things, the water below is completely still and reflective and there's no sound.

Dream 2: I'm seeing things from the perspective of someone else, floating in space above a purple star or sun. I keep trying to look at it and my eyes forcibly move to look elsewhere, and despite being in space there's a constant Shepard tone or buzzing/droning sound. An extremely long humanlike arm reaches up from the star and somehow manages to caress my cheek with its thumb through the helmet and I wake up, only to fall back asleep after a few minutes.

Dream 3: I'm in a parking lot, and discover that if I run and jump a certain way, I can sort of drift forward like riding a skateboard. I do that for a while until suddenly I'm pulled onto my back, then I'm lying in a field of clover and close my eyes. Then I wake up.

i was speaking to a friend of mine about this yeaterday. a weird one from 2019.

i had a dream where i was in a car that was sinking into a river and had just enough phone battery to send some "i love you, i'm sorry we probably wont speak again" messages. i get to one of my best friends, my genuine ride or die, and begin typing up this wonderful ornate big love message, like "thanks for being here, man i couldnt do shit without you"

but then, i erased all of it. i then began sending vaguely phallic emojis- eggplant, carrot, etc.

what i learned upon waking up was that i had actually gone ahead and done this on discord somehow to this exact friend and there were logs where he was trying to make sense of the bullshit. incredible.

I had a Chris-Chan dream last night. :cryblood: I didn't even watch any Chris-Chan shit yesterday, it just happened.
I was going to a restaurant on Valentines Day by myself, just looking to get a nice dinner out. I underestimated how busy it'd be though and the staff told me that the wait for single diners was so long I might as well go somewhere else. Then I turned and saw Chris standing nearby being told the same thing, and I knew about his whole Girlfriend Quest so I was like "Hey Chris, let's go in together, that way there's no wait to be seated. It's like a little date!"
BIG MISTAKE.
We got seated and the meal went terrible. He ordered a shitload of appetizers and desserts right off the bat, and I had thought I was paying (we didn't discuss it) and I was stressing out. He also tried to do the "romantic" thing of "and the lady will have a salad," but I'd already ordered my entree, so what he did was un-order my entree and intended to order a salad for me but forgot, so my food was 86'd and I didn't have an entree while he ate like a moose. I just ate a bunch of his desserts and appetizers, since he couldn't eat it all by himself. Then I misgendered him on accident, so I guess we're even.
After a little while, a Tard Wrangler I know irl showed up. Turns out in this dream, she was Chris' part-time wrangler and had been delayed by traffic. She offered to pay for the whole check, and I was so grateful and so guilty because of how much Chris had ordered. She was going to drive both of us home (to our respective homes,) and I was relieved the night was over, but while we were in her van Chris said something about his shirt being dirty or the pouring rain or some other thing, and the tard wrangler was like "oh, you guys can come back to my house and stay the night, we've got a party going on," and in my head I was like NOOOOOOO!!!!
I had to share the guest bed with Chris-Chan. It was so uncomfortable, because for as touchy and weird as he'd been when we had a table between us he was even worse when we were lying in bed. He kept getting too close to me, "cuddling" me (i.e; grabbing my boobs,) and it was all I could do to wriggle out of his grasp. I'd tell him to stop and he'd stop...then start again a few minutes later. It was awful, I could feel my skin crawling. I actually woke up from all the effort to get away from Chris.
So yeah if Chris-Chan says he had a dream around July 1st about going on a date with a girl, that was him psychically molesting me and I'm suing for emotional distress.

I'm glad I only had one appearance of Chris in a dream and he wasn't even the main thing in it. I was at some sporting event and somewhere in front of me in the stadium someone pointed out "hey there's Chris-Chan" and I pretended I had no idea who that was.

I've had a few dreams of my personal lolcow Stephanie Cianfriglia before, but Chris-Chan is new.

Battling "miniature" demon horseman carousel carrying chains, pendulums, and other ornaments, inside the hall of an old train.

Last night, I dreamed of bubbles. Just a room of bubbles where I was popping each one while I watched myself sleep. It was really relaxing yet strange :)

I was trying to free the aliens from the bank but people kept changing the paperwork and making me jump through hoops. Even when I filled out the forms to have their consciousness transferred into my body, so TECHNICALLY, the aliens wouldn't be leaving the bank. I had my $300k fee as well, except half was in USD and half in AUD, because the bank moved their entrance around the corner and pretended I didn't have an account with them. They even paid a psychiatrist to try to talk me out of the procedure and convince me I wasn't mentally competent to consent to such a thing.

Weird, I also have dreams about weapons not working. Usually the slide/forend flies of the front in a way that would be borderline impossible in real life. Sometimes they work though. And for some reason I'm a total badass at hand to hand combat in my dreams, even after weapons fail.

So I have a question. Has anyone else ever had dreams of... "weird architecture"? That's what I've always called it in my head, but I have no idea if there's a formal name for it. I've tried to research this off and on and I have literally never found a single mention of it in any dream related literature. For example, a hotel that's an upside down pyramid. A house with a hidden tunnel in the basement that leads to a massive cave that someone turned into storage. Houses with insane, bizarre floor plans like those overlooks you'd find in a mall, with spotlight hanging from the ceiling. That sort of thing. They're usually not good or bad dreams, just weird.

Some of them remind me a a little of what are now called "liminal spaces", but I've been having dreams like this my entire life, years before anybody had ever heard of that term. Plus it's not quite right. Liminal spaces tend to emphasize emptiness. "Weird architecture" is about strangeness. In my dreams they're often empty of people, but not always. Plus it's not rare for them to have objects like tables, couches, etc. Of the liminal space images and videos I've look at, the ones related to pools come the closest.

A real life, very toned down example would be something like the Winchester Mystery House. For other fiction, I would cite Among the Sleep (very similar feeling) and Hello Neighbor (shit game but the house itself is ALARMINGLY similar to dreams I've had).

No one I've ever asked about this has had any idea what I'm talking about, including a couple shrinks.

I fell asleep shortly after watching the Cate Blanchett Hot Ones interview last night so of course she appeared in my dreams. In my dream, I went to a stage show about Katharine Hepburn in which Cate played Katharine. After the show I stuck around for the chance to meet her, tell her how much I love her as an actress, and maybe snap a photo with her. She came out of the theatre and walked up to me to talk to me since she noticed I was out front waiting for her. When I got to talking to her she kinda just suddenly kissed me for whatever reason after I finished gushing about how I adored her acting, and I stood there like a simpleton with this dumbstruck expression on my face. She had a laugh about it and asked me if I wanted to go to a coffee shop with her. Of course I fucking said yes and then I woke up before we got our coffee.

Funnily enough, she actually played Katharine Hepburn in the film "The Aviator" and I thought she did a pretty goddamn good job of imitating her accent/voice. I should probably watch that again at some point.

It's a complex mental manifestation of a ton of stuff happening in your brain, it could be as nonsensical as AI footage, because you're mixing ideas together, non rational thoughts, random memories getting triggered, and sensations.
I agree. I've had dreams where unrelated characters and concepts get scrambled up into a sequence of events that leaves me thinking "WTF was that about?" when I wake up - especially if it involves something I was doing, reading or thinking about right before I go to bed.

On such dream featured me as a varsity basketball coach of a team primarily consisting of fictitious characters from a franchise that were hardly ever shown on-screen doing anything sporty. I'm watching the last two minutes of the JV game and our JV team is winning by 10-12 points. As I'm watching, I notice the game is co-ed and one of the players on the court is either on the spectrum or has some sort of mental challenge. Everyone seems indifferent about him, though, since the game is almost over and his presence on the court isn't going to impact the game.

Once the final buzzer sounds and the JV teams go through the handshake line, I complement my JV point guard for her play and I somehow think it's a good idea to introduce her to my mom as a star player I'm looking forward to having on my team next year. I can't find my mom in the stands, so I say screw it and focus on preparing for my varsity game.

As my team comes out of the locker to start the usual pre-game warmups, one of the girls stops to ask me about the game. I tell her it's our big rivalry game and it should be fun and competitive. She seemed nervous about our chances of winning, so I put my arm around her as if she was my own kid and I assured her that we can win if we play as well as we have up to that point in our season.

I have dreams somewhat akin to yours in concept, but it’s not just architecture I find odd about mine. In my case, it has most often been the context that contributes to a oddness: Said architecture or constructions sit as either landmarks or somewhat nonsensical infrastructure/buildings in the midst of whole cities, towns, or other kind of complexes with interwoven streets, roads, or paths/walkways. In such dreams, I often find myself set within open areas where the ambient conditions involve the bare light from heavily clouded weather during the late afternoon and/or the darkness of night or twilight. I find that the compositions of these dreams have some elements that are consistent, enough that I like to consider them as part of single world with different biomes or regions when I reflect on it.

Examples of certain settings include:
  • Urban sprawls where many buildings are of a brick or brick construction.
  • Different transit systems that each span multiple places and stops. Two kinds are recurring motifs.
    • A rapid transit system with individual, small cars, presumably serving a sprawling, urban school town or city. One such dream had a system where I could travel the stops on a line: stop 1 exits into an area of tall, rolling hills dotted with modern buildings and paved pathways, a university campus and student center by stop 2, a general residential zone by stop 3, a sort of hospital beside stop 4, a sort of shop or industrial zone by stop 5, a stadium beside stop 6, some office by stop 7. I can't remember the particular stop order or whether all are connected to the same line or system for that matter, but 2 - 1 - 5 - 6 were definitely connected in one dream.
    • A rail line between cities. To date, I have associated a single rail system to all dreams following this motif. One notable stop I remember is a place where there is a single platform, on only one side of where the train stops, of which is curved with the rail, like an arc or a circle, and the whole stop is themed with a rusty stone color with an opening, consisting of blocks of stone, exposing the similarly themed city on the side of the rail opposite of the platform. Other stops are suspended and open to other sprawls, usually on suspended platforms.
  • A large complex embedded at the top of a tall, slanted cliff face of which its lit windows stretching across its width can be seen from a far point in a forest below it while a deep overcast looms overhead.
  • Another complex embedded in rock similar to the above, except it sits beside a town in a different, much shorter cliff with a sandy complexion and gilded color. A winding road runs between the cliff and a stream for a section, where, in a subsection in sight of the town, the cliff becomes an overhang that the road passes under and becomes shadowed by. Further, this overhang hosts a waterfall that empties into the adjacent river. - There is a perspective where I envision this exterior setting to be in of sunny weather, where the sunlight causes the exposed rock faces to emit a gilded bloom, and I am standing in a position looking towards the side of the waterfall where the town, the river, the side of the overhang, and the shaded road are composed in this view.
  • A small, sprawling town sits in a sort of crater, where valleys converge at a point under overcast.
A main difference from the more liminal dreams you report is that these dreams feel populated to me and I can perceive people from my perspective within the dream. Of the people I can perceive, they act like normal people yet appear as vague characters: They perform seemingly sensible actions (walking/locomotion, working, handling things) and I seem to be able to communicate with or influence them, presumably verbally if not abstractly, but their relationship to me, or my perception of them, is seemingly transient. They notably contribute to or interact with me as I seem to move through these settings.

In a previous post, I said that I felt as if I was a ghost in many of these dreams with respect to my presence among those characters and in travel and traversal, but I feel my presence is mostly tangible and I think my travel between places is sort of a lapse of time. I'd like to think that the reason I feel that way is that my subconscious would like to pass over the more mundane parts, such as travel sequences, and prioritize the images rather than the transitions, so my experience in dreams is consequently accelerated or is an interpolation over positions, like animating over few frames in a second.

I got one that picks up where I left off whenever my mind comes back to it, I’m somewhere warm and tropical, with a long-haired brunette who is so perfect, she could only exist in my mind.

The catch, I’m terrified, I’m in my happiest of places and every time I have it, I wake up sweating, scared and shaken. Five or six times I’ve woken up like this. Succubus? Demon? Whatever it is, she needs to fuck off.

Naps are weird as shit.

I've lucid dreamed in the past but I'm glad I never went lucid in any of my fucked up nap dreams. In one of the more trippy ones I remember, I was a planet, a big blue gas giant, in a universe where the speed of light was much faster than ours. Everything felt fast-forwarded at 10x speed and I was hurtling through space at crazy speeds. I had a strange sensation that I was being followed by something and then I woke up.

I don't really call these dreams nightmares even though I might be terrified within the dream, because when I wake up I'm always like wow that was weird/cool as hell.

Had a dream yesterday where I had to deal with a mouse in my apartment. It was spotted, with a mix of white & grey fur, and didn't have any fear of me at all; in fact, it clambered all over me and climbed onto my hand without hesitation. I decided that I was gonna take care of it now, since it apparently decided to be my pet, and spent a lot of time looking for an open box that was large enough to fit a sippy cup and a food plate for the mouse. Initially, before I discovered the mouse, I had found such a box, but paid no mind to it; when I did end up needing it, it turned out that the box was stuffed somewhere under the bathtub and was now full of random shit that I was too busy to clear out. Another problem is that the mouse often ejected some purple stuff - like acid - from its whole body, which immediately started itching and burning my skin upon contact, so I had to immediately drop what I was doing and go wash my hands under cold water. After a few rounds of this, my right palm had some bloody red spots on it, like tiny bits of skin were torn or melted off. ANOTHER problem was this annoying-ass orange cat that was also in the apartment. It kept getting in the way, and I was worried that it might try to eat the mouse, so I tried to keep them separate; but the cat also had a really nasty habit of just latching on to my pants with its two front paws and making me drag it around, and I was usually too busy with the mouse climbing all over my hands to shake or pull it off.
Eventually, I found a tiny bowl that was wrapped in either cardboard or newspaper clippings, and it could only be a sippy cup for the mouse, I just kept scrambling all over the fucking place trying to find anything else until I woke up.

Last Night I dremt I got doxxed when someone found me scrolling KF on Google Maps and claimed I was the only user who uses Pixyteri Purple.

Were to even begin. So I have a dream where I am sent to prison for a year long sentence with the approval of my parents just for driving the wrong way. I feel somewhat like Jolyne Cujoh from Stone Ocean in the dream. I get sent to the prison which looks vaguely like Green Dolphin Street State Prison, also from Part 6, mixed with my high school and K-8 school, where I say "Nice place" like Demyx from Kingdom Hearts 3, due to it looking surprisingly nice on the inside. I get into some shenanigans with some fellow inmates, until I come across a younger version of the Paul Vario from Goodfellas, who helps me out with a position in the prison hierarchy, with a timejump montage coming right after. In the montage, I look like a mixture of Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII and adult Garmadon from Ninjago (Complete in Lego form), with me for some fucking reason getting a Marge Simpson style Beehive haircut while smiling like a dork. After the montage, I wake up to find the prison abandoned by the guards, and me, Paul Vario from Goodfellas, and a bunch of other male inmates start goofing off and causing chaos. I think one of my waifus in Flare Corona from Fairy Tail showed up around a corner as well, but the dream ended soon after that.

I've had a weird recurring element recently, a dead friend alive and well.
Last night in the dream she kissed me, which I find weird because we weren't super close friends and I wasn't romantically interested in her.
