wow. I think a variety of opinions is better than just one. i think it's mostly the meds suggestion that was the trigger? not really sure.
it's also likely the insinuation that he is like these other people. Regardless of whether you think wendell is like them or not, wendell doesn't believe that. maybe he views the abuse as a way to drive away people he doesn't want watching (as he says). Or if you believe the "master manipulator" angle, maybe he views abuse as a way to become more of a fixation (people who have been raised with a certain kind of abuse, find that abuse comforting).

From my perspective public broadcasted tv, religeon, school, etc is all child grooming, it's just the child grooming that society decided is ok. call it autistic cultural relativism or whatever. Strong sense of morality that is incongruent with the status quo morality is considered evil but im also probably overly optimistic.
i can see both sides in this debate and honestly it's this struggle i have on a day to day basis. How can i for instance raise a child to be free thinking without grooming them to be that way? Is it even moral to raise a child to be open minded? is it any different than raising a child to be one's own tool? we only view that later situation as bad because we live in a liberal democracy that supposedly values individuality.

Also, why must my partner and I get the government involved in our relationship and home? Someone who speaks so against the government encroaching on rights?
