Wendigoon Thread

On a whim I decided to check on Wendi's other podcast Red Thread to see if it is still going (it is) and apparently Oompaville is leaving the show. Hopefully they find someone who can bounce off Wendi. While the bits with Meat can drag on and derail, sometimes they strike gold. Jackson, Charlie, and Caleb are just way too dry and don't add anything entertaining or informative to the video.
Already? Feels like he just joined. Admittedly I don't watch Red Thread even when they sometimes cover interesting topics I'd like to learn more about. I checked in on the channel recently and their views have tanked, especially when you compare them to Creepcast which has a consistent fanbase in the hundreds of thousands. Feel like Wendi may be kissing Red Thread goodbye this year to focus on more profitable projects.

Really? Been catching up with red thread after quitting in the first episode, and it's honestly not bad. YT numbers might be low, but what about spotify?
Red Thread doesn't show up in the top charts, even if you filter for just true crime: https://podcastcharts.byspotify.com/

Meanwhile, CreepCast passed Shapiro.

Probably, especially with him hiring researchers and writers (I didn't hear back on my application, BTW) so he can make more main channel videos. Red Thread and Wendi's usual stuff has a ton of overlap, and I think the Red Thread was a way for him to do a quick and dirty coverage of stuff he wants to do but doesn't have time for. Now that he is expanding I don't think that is going to be a problem.

That's a shame though to be fair they did call Oompa a guest host in literally every episode that I can remember, so maybe it wasn't just a joke and he was only ever filling in until they could find someone. I haven't watched this episode yet so not sure if they bounced any names around but I actually think Aidan Mattis wouldn't be the worst choice.

I know one of his priorities as their numbers improve is getting someone to write the scripts for Lore Lodge so that he can focus on research since that's the part he actually enjoys, so him working with Jackson's girlfriend who does the red thread notes/outlines would probably be an improvement. He's a trained historian so he might be better equipped to help find more niche sources for information. I know he goes through a lot of archived newspapers when they're relevant so that's definitely something he could help with, and he's experienced with filing FoIA requests as well

Red Thread being mostly Jackson's thing is one reason it's nothing special. The guy is the physical embodiment of safe opinions and paint drying.
Another is the fact that the topics aren't well researched. There's nothing they cover you couldn't have found out by skimming the wiki. Like, did the Red Thread about Ruby Ridge add anything new to the story that wasn't already covered in Goon or Dankula's videos? No.

I didn't mind Jackson at first, but my opinion of him quickly dropped. He majorly annoyed me in one episode where he started by saying, "We can't judge this investigation with a modern lens," and then proceeded to judge every part of it with a modern lens. I think that was the Jack the Ripper ep, but I'm not sure.

Retarded sperging about Wendigoon's wife:
I haven't seen it brought up (searched the thread for keywords) but I kinda wonder if his wife is either liberal or very needful of having a positive public opinion so she would want to be very liberal.
I remember thinking it sometime around when he got married cuz her posts popped up in my twitter timeline, and I remember being surprised at how I guess unchristianly they were, in the way a lot of zoomer women are. I don't mean like normal "we're all sinners" kind of stuff, I don't know if there was a pro-abortion thing on there but it was the vibe I got. I checked just now and didn't want to scroll back to the posts I had seen cuz it'd take too long and there was nothing political, but it's just a feeling I've had.
I guess I just wonder if, especially with how women in America are right now and Isaiah being very religious, if it'll be an issue.
Feel free to call me a retard, it's just something that pops into my head when I watch Wendigoon sometimes.

Anyway I'm glad he did a Hinterkaifeck video, that one always stuck with me as such a disturbing case that I really wish had an answer.

Retarded sperging about Wendigoon's wife:
Wendi strikes me as very tepid libertarian when it comes to politics. Granted, he is big into guns and anti-government meme talk, but that is not super controversial. Unless he is a MAGA hat wearing guy who is full-blown TTD/TND, I don't think his wife being liberal would be an issue. Even if he is a Christian, he is the very passive "Jesus loves everyone and said to be nice" type who would just quietly judge and pray for people because ultimately their choice is between them and God. So stuff like abortions, drugs, and homosexuality wouldn't really go against his political/religious views.

I wouldn't stress about that stuff unless she starts an OF and Wendi becomes Idubbbz 2.0, or she cracks his egg, so Wendi becomes Wendy.

I'm not sure what the connection between playing grabass with mothman and being more liberal is, please explain.
In terms of the "being unChristianly" part that @Niggs Monaghan was questioning when it came to her Twitter. Haven't seen her social media page, can't be arsed to, it's just the whole filming yourself touching the backside of a statue and giggling over it angle that makes you wonder.

What I was getting at there was there're signs that she's not "trad" in that "Christian" sense and I don't know why people are surprised by this.

I don't know, I was probably remembering it wrong. For whatever reason I remembered her whining about women's rights around the time Roe v Wade was an issue but I can't find any evidence about it.
I think what it actually was was she was adamant about it being okay that she was a Working Wamen or whatever.
Nevermind me and my shitty memory I guess.

I would need to see proof to be sure.

Goofing off with a statue in a vaguely sexual manner means you're not Christian.
You learned it here first, folks.
