He made a video essay/explanation video on Petscop right when it was coming out (like 1/3rd of the story was released) and it blew up and got a shit ton of views. He then said he was going to do a Petscop 2 as more episodes came out, but it eventually became a meme because he constantly fucked around and did anything but work on the video, meanwhile the series ended and he still came up with excuses about how long of a project it'll take to make the video and other bizarre excuses, further fueling the meme.

ETA: He's also the one that essentially popularized the series, I believe it was slowly getting a bigger and bigger following but after his video Petscop was definitely "mainstream".

I try listening to the video in the background but it's hard to keep attention on it.

The biggest issue of the "retro" genre is that it's written by zoomers who didn't exist when the PS1 came out and only exposure it are like 2-3 experimental Japanese games that nobody fucking played (if they even came to the west rather than be translated by some tranny 20 years later).

So it feels fake and not in the creepy way. Just lazy.

Does anyone here know what happened to Wendigoon and Lore Lodge collabs? They just randomly stopped collaborating one day. Since it involves Youtubers, I must ask - is there drama behind it? Or did they just grow apart/not have time to collaborate anymore?

Mostly a matter of time available/scheduling I think. Right now they're planning on Weird Bible roughly once a month. They just announced the next episode a few days ago, it'll be on the 13th, Thursday of next week

In case you missed it, they moved Weird Bible from the Lore Lodge channel a while back to its own dedicated channel

In fairness it used to be a joke, shit man I've gone as Wonder Woman for Halloween we can have a goof, but at this point in our culture and our Internet and what we've seen through recent history let's just let the joke die.

I fully agree with this. Like this shit used to could be passed off as a joke if it was a one off thing. Things have just changed so much and we've watched so many turn a "one off bit" into an insane spiral into depravity.

I hope Wendi doesn't continue down this path, but if he does all I can say is: Aw dangit.

The joke used to be "haha wouldn't it be funny if frodo and Sam were gay, you know with Tolkien being catholic and all that'd be so funny" now they insist that they are. IIRC, the series was drawing a lot from the Newmarker case and a lot of the story and symbolism was about that. People found it distasteful, so the creator just took a hard turn with the story away from the IRL newmaker case and into it's own direction. I think a lot of the story's retardation comes from that course correction and adapting things on the fly.
