This is either gonna be really funny or dog shit

Really enjoyed the Ouija story. If this was by the same person who did the Hide story, they should do more of her work.

Their banter at the beginning really cements in my mind why I just don't like MC very much: he has one joke ("I'm a fat pervert!") and it's not particularly funny. When they were talking about what they would have in a bag to lure in the ghost, I imagine we all knew to a person Hunter's would be something stupid, self-deprecating, and degenerate in a lame way. Literally ANYTHING would have been funnier than "a polaroid of me in a speedo" or whatever he wound up saying. Hell, Wendi's chocolate bar was a thousand times funnier once they started riffing on it.

I found the Hide story on Kemono, the way they were talking about it made it sound like it had just come out but it was back in January, and it might not be the final version of it since at the end Meat said he'd throw it over to the editor to trim it down a bit (it was a livestreamed one)

Really enjoyed it, mostly just a solid Goosebumps level story but since it wasn't actually constrained to a children's book they threw in comical levels of under-detailed gore. Could easily be toned down to an episode of Goosebumps/Are You Afraid of the Dark/etc. Basically a bunch of children's games; hide and seek, Simon says; with global supernatural consequences for failing to play/win

Between it and the ouija board story I definitely wouldn't mind more from the author. Curious if all of their stories involve kids' games/boardgames since Monopoly was kind of a big part of Hide as well

I finished the video at work finally. I havent touched the Road yet as I'm now listening to the audiobook first.
I finished The Road audiobook. :( :'((:_(
I should have a kid.
The video about it is boring and Wendigoon isn't a very good narrator. This is something I've noticed, compared to professional voice actors or narrators in the Audiobook industry, Isaiah seems to either not be confident enough, or simply unable to, actually project his voice. It's like he has two modes of speaking and its either neutral, weather man or whispering because sad people always whisper or something. This is in contrast to Tom Stechschulte or Richard Poe who are loud and clear, even in moments of horror or sorrow.

I saw a comment on a Creepcast ep along the lines of "it's like listening to the right and left hemisphere of my brain talking to each other" and I think it was pretty spot on. For as illiterate and genuinely stupid Hunter can be, he's consistent at detecting tones and emotions in stories that seem to fly over Isaiah's head. Isaiah is usually able to understand complex plots, and does a good job (for the most part) understanding what the story was on a first read. Also a good choice to then have Hunter read most of the dialogue, even if his dyslexia or whatever causes him to misdeliver lines.

I'm curious as to just how much longer that podcast will go on for, or how much of a shift they'll need to do. He's in the very early throes of fatherhood, so as his own grows up, Isaiah is probably going to struggle with stories that involve children. Writing with themes of abuse, neglect, or bad shit in general with kids just hits different after you've been through it. He's always been a bit weepy, so I wouldn't be shocked if they avoid going for those stories in the future, or if he steps away altogether. Time will tell

Shit, if it means less of Elias "Gratuitous Child Abuse" Witherow, I'm not complaining.

90% of the stories are based on shock value of horrific shit happening to children.

It really comes off like Isaiah likes The Road specifically because that teacher of his did, and I don't feel like his opinions are really his own as a result. Not fully. I think that teacher and what he meant to Goon really colored his perception of the book. Not that that's a bad thing, just my ignorant observation.

HELP. I’m Trapped in a Sitcom | Creepcast

Meat immediately started the episode by both being a gross perv and an illiterate retard, thinking Journey To The West is some Nazi thing and being told it’s Chinese, saying it’s communist.

It then gets just so much worse from there.

No way the story is better than Too Many Cooks

Reuploading Patreon livestreams might be the absolute worst thing they've ever done with the channel. The story is short enough to have fit into a grab-bag, yet they dragged it out for 6 times the length of a normal readthrough of it, because they kept getting derailed by the chat.

The streams are fine for their own little corner on Patreon for the weirdos who actually pay to watch them, but they shouldn't be taking the place of an actual episode.

This was really boring. It's not as bad as Dead Girl but its still just, nothing? I appreciate their personalities and how they mesh so I don't necessarily mind the episode but the story itself was extremely forgettable. I think the story would be better if it played with the scenario a bit more. As is, it just kinda reads like a guy who doesn't understand how improv works, and keeps answering "no" to everyone else's "yes, and"

My favorite part was when Wendi essentially called Hunter and the patreon audience pedophiles

You are pretty spot on. His teacher just had a baby too when he was going through the book with a class. So Wendi wanting to reread it after having his own baby is just him going full circle on a formative experience.

I think they need a filler because they couldn't do a recording this week and nobody wanted a one man meat show again.

New Second Channel Video:
The Disturbing Disappearance of the Beaumont Children

Hopefully this'll be a return to form for Isaiah. More like the boys on the track video, and less like the other videos on his second channel

Maybe I'm just being so cynical due to fatigue from overused true crime topics, but does he add anything new to this story, such as updates and new theories? Because the Beaumont Children case is a commonly-used topic for true crime / mystery content on Youtube, and it seems like it's been covered to death.

Doesn't sound like it. Like usual unsolved mysteries it was probably a nobody that buried the bodies in the middle of nowhere, or they got back into the sea and got pulled by the current into somewhere that the bodies didn't wash to shore.

that's so fucking dumb but so goddamn funny :story:

The case really doesn't have a whole lot going on. The kids went to the beach one day, apparently were seen with a stranger while there who was described, and never came home. That's it. Other than some fake letters I don't think there's ever been any sort of clue or lead.

Which really sums up a lot of missing persons cases, especially children, unfortunately.
