This volume was a mixed bag. The intruder's monologue at the end was really cool, and so was the little creepy clippy face changer program. But god damn if the live action segments and the voice acting didn't almost ruin the whole thing. I get that Alex is a novice to filmmaking and he's trying new stuff out, but I don't know how anyone can realistically watch the live action bits and think "yeah that looks like a finished product".

The King James Bible and other old translations use "Jehovah", and evangelical Christians in the South tend to favor these translations of the bible. It's kind of like how black Christians will often use "Yeshuah" instead of "Jesus," it's just a preference for one version of the name. I grew up in the South, and everyone I know used "Jehova", "God", or "Lord". I didn't know about "Yahweh" as a name for God until I was in high school.

In Hebrew instead of YHVH you say Adonai.

I have no idea how this guy managed to fly under my radar for so long. I spent a good chunk of my evening last night watching (well, listening) the Ant Hill Kids and the Biblical Apocrypha. His videos make me think of a college professor giving a lecture, but the professor in question is non-tenured kind who isn’t up his own ass just because he has a doctorate in the humanities.

Except for a couple of places in the OT the KJV mainly uses LORD.
It's the American Standard Version that went nuts and used it everywhere and it was that translation that was used by the study group that became the Jehovah's Witnesses.

It might just be my because of my own religious views, but I always love when Wendigoon goes full Bible nerd. He digs up some really interesting stuff and he knows his stuff exceedingly well.
Even if you aren't religious, I would imagine it's still really interesting from a historical and cultural standpoint to learn these lesser known stories.

I wouldn't say I'm not religious, but my family never went to church as a kid so I find all the stuff I never heard about fascinating.

I recall him mentioning it a lot some months back in his videos, but if you have an ad skipper installed I guess it could have skipped those entirely.

I think he did some live streams to drum up funding for it too. IIRC, the one I always like to talk about where he had to leave the room for 20 minutes because he saw a scary goat may have been one of them, but I'm not positive.

Nah, no shame. That's why I mentioned maybe sponsor block would have blocked them. I have it too so I don't know if I just saw the other videos early enough to know about the movie or what. It's strange that I know about it because I don't give two shits about it lol
