Wendigoon Thread

It'll be out when it's out. And we like that, it'll be out when it's out. But great work ethic. It was so good Meat Canyon was there, the great Meat Canyon! It's okay
Speaking of Meat, he's gone on hiatus on his main channel. I'm mobile fagging so please excuse me but he punctuated it with an animation.

Fitting end. For now.

And that is what it is. It doesn't however have much to do with Wendigoon except me wondering what it will do with the podcast they share.

Abandoning your main content isn't entire uncommon, with or without burnout. It's happened to IHE and other smaller channels, it might happen to Meat and maybe it'll happen to Wendi.

I'm still not sure what the appeal of this guy is. Weird Bible I get, even though he filters everything he talks about through an Americanized-Southern-Baptist frame, meaning he's starting from a distorted point. Other than that? His analysis always seems to include telling me why something is scary instead of just explaining the situation and moving on. It's no better than the other fucks who spend three hours explaining why a Mario hack is the scariest thing they've ever seen.

Is it his personality? He doesn't even have that. He just likes weird shit and plays into his Christian background. That's, basically, half of the people you know. Right now. He legitimately finds the dumb shit he, "analyzes," scary as a full grown adult. He also spent way too long pushing his, "hot goth wife," who is neither hot nor goth. The joke got old two wife-plugs in.

Is it the topics he covers? Can't be. Everyone else already covers them, too. He's not even a little unique, in that regard. Also fuck your icebergs and fuck the people who oversaturated it.

Is it the other things he's on? Because he's the least entertaining part of those.

How the fuck does such a milquetoast, boring, basic-bitch-horror loving, americanized-religious faggot get so popular?

Same reason as Discovery Channel got popular with all those shows about aliens and Bigfoot and conspiracies. People love the really fringe shit but they want it sanitized so they don't feel too uncomfortable about the truth of the matter.

ahhh yes, the age old question: "why do people like things I don't?" and the even older "this guy is/does things I don't like, why do other people not have a problem with him?"

If this guy wasn't American and religious would you dislike him less? Explains a lot.

Nigger I literally just want to hear people read/explain things so I can do dishes or work out at the same time. I don't care who's talking as long as they're not insufferable or propagandizing, but being insufferable and propagandizing are both en vogue. Milquetoast is a godsend in comparison.

In a world of virtue signaling asspat addicts, culture war spin doctor "journalists", clickbait mammonites and actual literal disinfo agents, Wendi was just a normal guy talking about things he cares about. That's good enough.

I appreciate that it's kind of all monotone, just talking, no yelling, no music, no random sound effects, awesome background noise for me to WFH with. It gives the energy of people talking in the office except for I'm moderately interested in what they are talking about so I might prick my ears and listen in every now and then when I feel like distracting myself.

It's weird hearing Isaiah cuss like "shit", even though he's reading straight from the text.

I listened to a rendition of Borrasca ahead of time since they announced their intention to do it in the last episode, the one by Cole Sprouse/QCode. It didn't line up perfectly with what they read but it was basically telling the same story. The main difference being that the QCode version has the narrative framing device of Sam being on parole for heroin abuse and he's telling the story to his PO. The other big difference is that when they're heading to the hospital after talking to Jimmy Prescott's dad to see Kimber's mom they get run off the road. I think Season 2 of the QCode thing might not be part of the original story but it was attributed to the same author so I'm not sure, I guess I'll find out where the original stops in Ep 2

I'm not really sure how to feel about it. It's a fine enough story I guess but it wasn't really scary at all, definitely didn't live up to all the 'scariest story I've ever read' reviews that I've seen all over, including from Wendigoon. As they mentioned the way the kids are written is pretty great but that's only in part 1. As teenagers Sam and Kyle are really obnoxious. They're constantly smoking weed, constantly having problems as a result of smoking weed, and never deciding to just stop.

I guess the ending of the QCode version of it was one of the more fucked up endings I've seen that weren't just excessively violent or depressing, that being a happy ending involving what Sam describes as an unbearable amount of consequence free incest.

As far as the episode goes my least favorite so far. Wendigoon was a bit too excited over what I consider to be a fine-but-not-amazing story, lots of interruptions, lots of reiterating the same points, and Meat has a cold. Not awful but hopefully Ep 2 will be better

Borrasca Part 2 is out

Still watching it. I'm enjoying this episode a lot more. Meat seems to be over his cold so he's got a lot more energy, and it's past the fun stuff so Wendi is a bit more measured. I really enjoyed them making fun of Kyle at the funeral, definitely a stand-out segment.

I was skimming through the comments while listening and apparently I was right about where Borrasca 4 ends. Seems like the QCode production's season 2 was the adaptation of Borrasca V which came out a few years later because people were pestering the author for a conclusive ending. Borrasca 4 is definitely open enough to be expanded upon but I don't think it should have been. It's a bleak, miserable ending for a bleak, miserable story

E: At the end Wendi mentions that he read this eight years ago and it's sort of been festering in his mind for a long time while he was trying to decide if he should read Borrasca V. Based on what he said I think he'd actually enjoy it, especially since it seems like the story affected him a lot more than me. If I'd had a big gap from S1 to S2 of the QCode production (or read 1-4 back in 2015 and then listened to QCode) I might have appreciated V more.

Listening to this did finally answer one question for me, that being what the Skinned Men are. Not sure if QCode skipped it or if I was just distracted while listening to that part but there's a sign that originally said Drisking Underground Mine that was faded so only 'skin nd Min' was readable.

There was also another episode of Red Thread on Epstein, I didn't make it twenty minutes in. I actually didn't even make it twenty minutes in before I completely zoned out, that was just when I turned it off. Not out of disgust or anything but it just wasn't interesting. I'm probably not going to keep watching this one outside of episodes that cover something I'm interested in.

Being reminded of Borrasca reminds of Channel Zero and that Antosca only wanted to adapt stories where he could credit the author so we never got truly fucked 4chins classics like Anomalies, The White Man, Anon at Tower 7, Nic the Watcher, Anon works at a library, Vicious Vav, Anon's KGB Grandpa's diary, Maine Taxi Driver, Anansi's Goatman, Maiyal Mula, Yukon stories, Korean Anon, Florida Anon, The Willow Man, Yakut stories and the most fucked up I ever read by an anon Dogs Don't Talk.

Wendigoon was apparently called a "Good goy cuckservative" in a Soyjack shooter's manifesto. Attached the manifesto, but I don't know what page Wendigoon is mentioned on since I haven't read it. Fucking comics sans. Figured this should be preserved here too.

Edit: Page 25, second paragraph after "Stab commies to death with a wakzashi."

Wendigoon: Perfect example of a good goy cuckservative. Cracks jokes about killing feds but either doesn't have the balls to name the ones sending the feds or plugs his fingers in his ears and screams "LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU" when faced with pattern recognition. The worst part is most right-leaning content creators are like this. None of them will do what is necessary. Their only purpose is to serve as the start of the White Man's wake-up call.

Lol reminds me of Fredrik Knudsen saying niggers in his Terry Davis video, completely straight-faced.

Ah, Fredkrik. How far you've fallen....

Anyway! New Wendigoon. I have never heard of this story.

I will admit that I've taken a break from his content since the Unabomber shit but I'm watching this one. His shirt is particularly eye-bleeding today btw.

Just a brief thought as a filthy European and I'll take the trashcans and Easter Island heads but why is it that the FBI (and CIA for that matter) tends to sit on documents that should be public knowledge for years after the investigations have concluded? And when the documents do get released, they are blacked out to hell and back. I get they might do it for names and identifying information but it feels a little too vague for me when they do it for other information.

Not even asking this in regard to this case, just random musings.

It depends on the case, sometimes it might be because people involved in the case are still alive, it can be tied to a active case so you have to withhold some stuff, and most of the time its probably just because the feds are secretive cunts who hate telling the public shit.
There isn't much rhyme or reason to it a lot of the time.
