Wendigoon Thread

That is a very good way to put it, and is the reason why I personally liked Wendigoon in the first place. His videos have an easy-going air surrounding them, they aren't highly edited and flashy, and they lack a cold formality that a lot of other video essayists and horror content creators so needlessly cling to, to make themselves seem important than they really are. On top of that, Wendigoon himself is a charismatic guy. Maybe he's done some shit recently that I find retarded, but even then he still comes off as a likeable person who relays information in a simple, but entertaining way. I would take passion over production when it comes to YouTube videos any day.

I like Wendigoon and hope he never does anything worse than having shit takes at times. Guy comes off as genuine and I love it.

Their reaction on how terribly written this is has me excited for them to continue and find out it doesn't get better. Though, that does bring up another point of genuine worry, they sort of front loaded the good stuff when it should have been dispersed over time. I wonder where they'll have to pivot and to what.

When I was watching this it reminded me of this one creepypasta commentary series where it was 3 british guys just shitting on stories with no restraint. I missed creepypastas which were unintentionally hilarious. I liked Borrasca, Penpal, and LR Game but they were long and tiring and after Gregory which was kinda just bad this story was a breath of fresh air.

For the one who asked for another bible video.
I love Wendigoon's christian commentary. Nobody seemed to talk about his Weird Bible Podcast for Easter but it was fantastic and reminded me why I ended my edgy Pagan phase in the first place.

You mean Bad Creepypasta by MichaelLeroi? It’s still one of my favorite Youtube series, there are so many great quotes and jokes in its decade-long run (no joke). It’s in a weird hiatus-cancelled status right now sadly. The creators want to move on, I guess.

I really enjoyed a lot of their stuff, but I listened to something more recent and anytime literally anything bad happened to a female character they'd start screaming "MISOGYNY MISOGYNY" and it got old real fast. I think "Fish Stick on a Stick" was a similar, related channel? Maybe I'm remembering wrong, it's been a while.

I hope CreepCast will do Sonic.exe and Sonic.exe 2. They did Jeff the Killer so it wouldn't surprise me. Would love if they do some scoring game for how many times blood or hyperrealistic is mentioned.

Yeah that one

If I remember they were liberal but not afraid of very politically incorrect humor. They would only cry misogyny when the story was using a woman dying for shock horror kind of like children or pets being killed, but outside of that I don't remember them actually getting "triggered" like some dumb feminist. They made way worse jokes, some probably towards women, anyways.

Fishstick still does the odd creepypasta review once in a blue moon but mostly has moved on to being a TF2 streamer. He did a review of the new Avatar show on his main channel recently however.

I hate Reddit horror stories. Beside the overly verbose titles, they end up infodumping everything about their monster/mystery/mythos so it ends up like this: Screenshot from 2024-04-10 23-58-40.png

Not sure if anyone is still watching Red Thread but the P. Diddy one has been the first non-cryptid one they've covered that I particularly enjoyed. The community post apologizing for the delay gave me a chuckle, I think they had something else planned and then this happened so they jumped on it while it was hot

It does help that I was curious about what was going on with this particular situation and it was way crazier than I imagined. It's kind of weird in the sense that you'll hear Isaiah saying things you probably wouldn't expect from him, like talking about cuckoldry and jacking off. I think part of it was just him imagining his wife being treated like Diddy treated women and being righteously infuriated by it.

Agreed. The podcast is usually a miss for me. Charlie barely bothers with enough energy to interject a sentence or two, and Jackson strikes me as dumber than a box of rocks (taking multiple episodes to even pronounce Isaiah's name correctly, messing up dates/names/locations frequently). I had hope but aside from this episode and the Heaven's Gate one (that did have some lesser-known information and was interesting) and this recent P-diddy overview, most of them have fallen flat.

I hope it's just a slow start to them finding a decent chemisty. Or maybe I'll keep seething about the Aussie having the entertainment personality of a wet paper bag and such a dogshit discord connection that pauses between him and everyone else speaking make the pacing so damn awkward.

This is an odd one.

From a couple of days ago, Wendigoon does some awkward group sightseeing in New Orleans and endures "gooning" jokes. Mostly he drops off a couple of other Youtubers to urbex haphazardly and then picks them up later.

Are these people all in the same age range?

IIRC Brandon is a few years older than Isaiah and usually less insufferable than he dresses. Tom might be a couple years younger. Funny because Wendi comes off as their tour guide/chaperone/parent in the video.

Isaiah provided a lot of history and details which was fun. He was of camera for one segment and had some good insight after. He made some goofy jokes but also told Brandon and Tom how to actually get into the park. They all hang out together and you can see all of them dunking on each other.

I haven't had a chance to watch this one yet but I did appreciate Isaiah having a bear ready just for the purposes of fucking with Hunter when he finally sees the recording. Sounds like this one was actually a solid, or at least well received for the time, story so I'm gonna wait until I have a chance to halfway pay attention before I tune in

This episode was pretty good on Isaiah and Hunter's part, the content was just meh. The story itself wasn't bad, just really fucking boring in my opinion. The concept isn't even that terrible, it's the execution that was very lackluster and underwhelming. I rate this one decent background noise.
ETA for a comparison of sorts: Penpal had great tension, Candle Cove had a good twist ending. This story had neither, only a spooky premise with a failed delivery.
