The story was more fun when it was just weird shit happening, focusing on a cause was lame, especially with the reddit-tier reveal, but I’m glad they at least had a bunch of the stuff be unrelated and still unexplained.

Wendigoon's opinion was pretty much on par with mine, the ending is a big left turn in both tone and quality.

The way they weirdly focused on the joke about Malboro's nick name into some plot twist when it really just a quick joke that doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it was annoying. It just seems like Wendigoon trying to make the story deeper or something.

I mostly just listen to the audio so I didn’t even notice, and even going back over the video it took me a minute of scrubbing through to even find a shot with his hands in frame but yeah that is a distracting shade. I was more concerned with this fan art they displayed in the ending fan art montage though.

I also checked the tickets of the tour on a whim and they’re completely sold out, so good for them I guess.

For the record the best Anglicization of "Qupqugiaq" would be "cup-CUGG-ee-ACK" especially as Inuits tend to shorten vowels (it's hard to use one's lips in subarctic temps). As a linguist I can't stand people butchering the easiest foreign words. It's not hard you're just dumb.

But it's nice to see the Cryptid Iceberg return.

It would have done better if he'd laid out some grading criteria ahead of time. Not that he had to treat it at all seriously, but you can't run with just improv for a project this long, and the ratings trend down as it continues since it's such a slog.

Something like "Tahoe Tessie: one star Originality; you're just another Nessie, sorry. Three stars Plausibility; we talked about this with the other lake monsters. Four stars Cool Factor: it makes a good tee-shirt. NEXT."
