Wendigoon Thread

Did hunter pick this one?
Apparently it’s a fan request and Hunter seems even more exasperated than Isaiah.

Edit: Got through the story, was pretty good. The second part made it more interesting for sure, though I don’t know if I agree with Hunter’s analysis. Solid episode, some fun jokes, some cool creepy imagery, and it’s nice that both the hosts got into it. The fan art is mostly either good or funny, Isaiah made an off handed comment about a piece he saw that confirmed my secret suspicion that they’ve got a massive fujoshi fanbase. Also wendigoon’s dog is adorable.

No idea what they're thinking of assuming it's a fight club thing. It blatantly states that it's some creature.
IDK, Wendi was doing it with the gas station story too. Their reading comprehension skills gets concerning sometimes.

Also, if the guy is an accountant and the woman has a trust, then it is possible they were never married. The woman is anti-social and has no friends, maybe her only visitor is an accountant who came over to deal with trust stuff? While he is there, they both got possessed by two entities who wanted to play house. The entities used their bodies like dolls to do husband/wife role-play before getting bored and switching it to messed up baby/mommy role-play (That's why they were seeing changes/doubles as they were seeing both the human and entity). When they left/burned the house the entities left their bodies (Like an analogy for dolls and a doll house).

It's something I've begun calling lore-rot.
It's the incessant, borderline schizo need to find "deep" lore behind elements of a story regardless of the further context and set up of the story.
Yes, the gas station story mentioned the guy working there having some condition that causes him to not sleep, sure.
The rest of the story is simply just written as a fun creature feature esque story, which main appeal lies in just seeing what else is out there in this world the story takes place in, like a creepycrawly monster safari.

Lore-rot causes people like Wendigoon to seek deeper themes & meanings behind EVERYTHING and it's infuriating.
I've made this point in the urbanspook thread but people nowadays really seem to struggle to accept that things don't have to be "deep" (Pretentious) to be fun/good. Everything has to have deeper meaning or something to say about some mental condition in one way or another, rarely does any horror content get made anymore with the sheer purpose of just being a fun, weird & spooky time.

I fully blame FNAF/its lore for how widespread this now is.

FNAF never really explained everything under Scott either, the problem was more how he interacted with the community and theorist faggots like Game Theory which really kickstarted this nonsense. How things work in fnaf is mostly fantastical nonsense, with the 'deep lore' being autistic connections between characters and on top of this the trickle of info for their backstories that are just barely explained enough per game to have hyped fans up to learn more in successive entries. This effectively ended once Cawthon sold out, not that the new guys aren't still trying.

This story was actually really neat, but would have been so much better without the typical 3Sp0oky5me shit and extreme body horror/violence. Took what was a very creepy and fucked, yet believable and almost understandable, situation in a pretty boring direction. Like everything other than the supernatural and violence worked really well.

>couple gets involved in a roleplay
>neither know who started it
>both claim to hate it
>deeply fulfilled on some level though
>fall into a routine
>goes too far
>becomes a case of child/parental abuse

That's a really creepy concept and a neat little mystery of "how'd we end up here?". But nah, the husband is a literal man child shape-shifting monster and the wife is an actual "Black Widow" so to speak. Gay. Also Goons theories about the stories were shit.

Oh, also Wendigoon shaved his beard for some god-forsaken reason

Should've just gone full cleanshaven wtf is wrong with you Kayla? No woman should let her man go out looking like that.
Maybe it's that phase where a guy is shaving everything off, but stops halfway for a few photos with a meme 'stache.

Courage, friends; remember that Steve1989MREInfo's beard grew back and we all survived.

Could be, though I must note he did just do a weird bible episode a few hours ago and the stache is still there

FNAF originally was basic bitch horror story of a pedo killing children, the children possessing the suits that he stashed the bodies in, and those suits killing people randomly.

The game blew up about any plot threads without closure (despite not needing the closure) and the maker jumped on the opportunity for more games while adding exponential complexity that was never there (ie, the history of the chain, the Bite of 87, the mechanics of the suits).

Maybe he lost a bet. It looks fine.

The area he lives in got slammed by Helene. He has been organizing and funding various forms of aid and connecting people he knows. As well as documenting the damage and stories.

This was posted yesterday, but his longer threads have been a slice of humble pie. No one has any obligations to say what they do with their money, and Isaiah has clearly loved his community. To see somebody down in the trenches, and just care for his neighbors.
