Wendigoon Thread

I don't remember specifically but I do think so yes.
All I remember is the retarded "riding scp 682 into battle" thing and some of the edgy stand-offs the MC has with 05 council members.
Yeah I remember the vague concept where every 05 is a retarded boss fight and the main character becomes 05-1 at the end.
The gay power couple pandering threw me off so much I completely forgot about the whole riding 682 into battle thing.

Start was super awkward it was actually kind of hard to watch. I guess it's hard to shitpost when the both of you are together and not on a discord call.

SCP itself is... okay, I guess? I thought it was gonna be about some alternate foundation using SCPs for their own use and one of them leaked into this reality (probably mistaking it for another entry), but the entire thing is just an explanation for that amnestic they talk all the time. Cool if you're super autistic about the lore, but otherwise it's a simple monster story with not a lot going for it, and some really awkward writing at times. Wish they had done something like 1730 instead, I really liked that one.
1730 is great, probably one of the few tale entries I like alongside 5000. 1730 is how you correctly reference and make nods at in-universe concepts. Ouroboros is what you get when you take MCU, but the writer is a SPED fanboy given permission to turn the script into his fan-fiction, so even more retarded than normal MCU.

I think it's mainly due to Hunter's lack of real familiarity as far as the wider world building goes, so having to stop so often to explain and essentially exposition dump lore to him really guts the pace of the episode.

I think it'd have been better if they just got a small curated list of smaller entries/grab bag in order to show instead of tell. Like the entire thing at the start explaining safe, euclid and keter and what they mean is better illustrated with concrete examples.
Especially since Hunter definitely has a point with a lot of entries relying too much on "REDACTED" and the like, I think entries like 3000 or other more lore-heavy/knowledge dependent ones are best saved for *if* he can actually get hooked via smaller entries.

The whole REDACTED thing is what turned me off of SCP in the first place 10 years ago when I first heard of it.
What a way to tell a story by not telling it at all. Imagine if in every movie instead of explaining something the character goes "that's confidential" in a bid to sound smart or mysterious. The biggest and most recent example I can think of of lazy story telling like that is "Somehow, Palpatine has returned". How? Fuck you that's how, don't ask questions.

Oh no, they're both at Wendi's house and it immediately sounds terrible

This was like the Greylock episode where Wendi autisticly info dumps about a series his loves while Meat humors him.
Also didn't Dr. Bright's writer turn out to be a grooming nonce?
I've gotten the inkling over a few different videos they aren't nearly as friends as much as some may think.
They are internet coworkers. It is hard to be friends with someone who you never met in person before, also Meat strikes me as a homebody that isn't super comfortable being in an acquaintance's house.

I think it would have been fun to have hunter go in blind and pick a few SCP's from each series based on their title alone. Help settle the debate on when SCP turned to shit.

I don't mind [REDACTED] being used to censor identifying information like locations, dates, or people as they don't really matter, and I like keeping those facts unknown as it builds the mystery of where they found this thing. But when authors start going "the SCP will then [REDACTED], before [REDACTED], then it will finally [REDACTED] its victim after [REDACTED] minutes" that is when I get really annoyed. I am already reading about the creature, there is zero excuse to censor the gory details, you pussy.

The only SCP I ever liked(read: the only one that made an impression) was the agate Guardian or whatever it's called. The giant Arch Angel watching over the entrance to Eden in the middle of the desert who either mindrapes people who get too close or just erases them from existence. That was fun. Idk what this one is about but I'm sure I'll hate it. Will be a nice distraction at work today. We've got fuck all to do and I'm having to make busy work for myself.

I'm a basic bitch, gimme SCP 173 (the statue that shits and snaps peoples necks if you blink) or SCP 049 (Plague doctor)
It was classic, fun, and interesting, creativity to a point (even though 173 was ripped off from Dr. Who or whatever) but not so try hard as other things.
If I was Creepcast I'd have started with the classics then wiggled my way into the more obscure shit, I'm surprised the comments aren't already begging for those.
Until they do the classics, the comments begging for them are going to be as prevalent and annoying as the fucking retards spamming "who up creepin they cast"

Those classics have been rewritten and pretty much ruined. Especially the plague doctor.

The audio quality difference between their mics wasn't too bad on my bone conduction headphones but it was horribly grating on my speakers. Wendi's mic still had that horrific static hiss. I was excited for like a second when I saw them together at Wendi's house because I thought Meat might finally help him fix his shit but then they started talking and I was immediately angry lol, I just couldn't listen to it at home so I had to listen while I was working

Story itself was fine I guess. There's definitely better SCPs but as a first foray this was fine. I liked the twist of people having other people's memories rather than just totally being mindwiped but otherwise not too much to say about it

3288 is a favorite of mine.

In a dark twist, how chaotic would it be if IPOS just popped up to try and twist this into Wendi being a white supremacist who voted Trump and is using the rise of fascism to advocate for the legalization of slavery or some dumb shit.

That aside, it's a kind thought from Wendi but why is this not on his main channel where more people could see it?

So I went back and watched all of the Weird Bible Podcasts with Wendi and Aiden and Aiden's pet tech guy over the past couple of weeks.

They were GREAT and I'm kicking myself for not watching them sooner. I noticed the last three videos had long time gaps between them so I hope it was just Isaiah's life and projects temporarily getting in the way and not a sign that the podcast is kaput.

Actually liked the SCP video for the most part. Wendi really needs to just get the info dump on terminology and shit outta the way at the top of the video if it's something he's familiar with and Meat isn't. Or have a little faith Meat can figure it out through context on his own, and that he will ask for clarification if needed.

Only real gripe about the monster itself is that they try to connect it to some poojeet shit-snake, but whatever. It's power, for lack of a better word, helps explain how a 700 mile long serpent that's apparently only a quarter mile under the oceans surface hasn't been found sooner, which is nice. And the fact its whole thing is really just memory based helps keep it semi grounded in a setting that has shit threatening the fabric of reality every other entry.

I just really can't stand Aiden. He comes off as a fuckin autistic, condescending, know-it-all no matter what he's talking about. I even tried giving him a chance on the Unsubscribe podcast and he still managed to be more obnoxious than the group of ex-military gunfag youtubers.

Plus when I tried giving their 411 videos a chance, it became apparent that Aiden gets far too emotionally invested in the shit they cover. It's one thing to care about the subject you're covering, but it's another to look straight into the camera and bitch at the person your video is covering directly as if they'll ever see it or care.

It's something they want to do more frequently but Wendi already has two other weekly podcasts on top of his normal videos and streaming, and the lore lodge guys have like five channels and livestreams as well, so since they do it live them being able to do Weird Bible is a 'when the stars align' kinda thing. I think they want to treat it as sort of a 'sunday school' thing where people can ask questions so they aren't particularly inclined to move to a pre-recorded setup. I think that would make for a better podcast but it's probably just not what they want it to be

I also don't know how many views the videos get so superchats might be the only way to make it viable, but it'd probably get more views if they pre-recorded so no telling

I really like Lore Lodge. I haven't seen him on anything else so I can't say but some of those videos are worth getting invested in.
