So I suffered though the whole episode and I am confused at what the appie videos are supposed to be. Like 1999 is straightforward, the videos are of a man in a bear suit snuffing out real kids, they are not acting, there is a very real crime taking place. But with Happy Appie, he is a small clay model some guy lazily slapped together on his first day working for Nickelodeon and called it good. So are the videos all fake and they are just weird violent videos that has a claymation apple on a stick in them or are the videos real and there is an actual apple monster killing real kids. If it is the former, why bother with the videos outside of just having them be an oddity, but if it is the latter, then an apple monster going around killing kids is a much bigger concern then the weird stalker guy harassing the protagonist.
The problem with your question is that you assume there's an answer. The blog sounds like a poorly thought out contradictory mess.

Episode was mid. The story was so bad with so little for them to work with that it was just Isaiah and Hunter suffering, but not in an entertaining way.

My takeaway was there was a guy who was already a mass murderer who wanted to make a children's show where the puppet/claymation main character murders a bunch of kids, who later became a full-on serial killer once the show was in production

He presumably offered up a more kid-friendly premise (Appy drives around in his 1996 Ford Windstar helping kids) to get it approved and drugged the producers when they started asking too many questions during production, and I think he drugged the network control room too and aired the episodes himself so nobody could shut them down

Some of the episodes contained actual killings (basically all of S2), the most prominent one I remember was a girl insulting Appy and then it swapped to a PoV shot of presumably the serial killer chasing her down and stabbing her

The killer then changed his goal, now that the show was complete, to killing everyone involved with making it, not just the kids who starred in it but the rest of the crew and production team as well

What's never explained are the supernatural elements. How Forenzik knows when people have watched the episodes, how he predicted 9/11 and Fukushima, how he kept coming back mostly unharmed after being injured, probably a few other things

Terrible story but I found it to be very cozy in its terribleness for whatever reason. I guess I just found it adorable that some ESL kid managed to stick with what should have been 2-3 entries tops for 57 entries over the course of a year. I'm legitimately confounded by the author trying to reboot it 15 years later because I can't imagine what he thinks is worth saving. Hopefully he just had a better idea for a spoopy kids show and is just trying to use the infamy to get some extra eyes on it

What this fails to take into account is that the weird stalker guy is capable of superhuman feats because he gets hit by a car, shot several times, and has his arm literally cut off, then walks it off like it's nothing. Then somehow grows his arm back because the writer forgot that was a thing.

I think the idea behind why Forenzik can walk off any lethal injuries is supposed to be that it's not the real one, its one of his followers. Of course, I'm not sure why he'd have cultists in the first place...

It is just so repetitive and predictable, he watches a creepy happy appy episode then gets harassed by Forenzik. But there is no real through line between the episodes and why he is a target for a weird stalker cult. Like he is supposed to be a detective, but he is watching Happy Appy as a side hobby. If he is going to remake it, he needs to have the detective have a reason why he is watching the videos. Have him work on a cold case of a missing child and he discovers she appeared in a small kid show production and then him finding the tapes matters because he gets clues and discovers more missing kids related to happy appy. Also stick with it being grounded or super natural, he played with both and it just made things confusing.

That's just an average body cam video of a guy high on fent or PCP.

I think he was following trends at the time, like Slenderman had cultists helping him too right?

A story about the entertainment industry written by an ESL kid who has no idea how it works is now using marketing tactics of the entertainment industry to cash in on bad press to generate buzz about a new project that is a loose reboot of an existing long dead property.

Whatever he does it will surely be better purely on the fact he (hopefully) has some understanding of how the world works now.

I listened to it again at work today and this is definitely correct. There was one part where there were two Forenziks chasing the detective that I completely tuned out first time through, and the real Fredrikk just flat out says he has followers. Kind of confusing/improbable for the feats they pull off, like disappearing the corpse after one of them gets run over in the time it takes him to stop and look back and the fact that they're all 6'9 stringbean ass motherfuckers, but not explicitly or even implicitly supernatural. Why he has followers isn't addressed at all

That doesn't explain him predicting 9/11 and Fukushima though. One thing that helps things make a bit more sense is how the protagonist was found, he donated a dollar to the Fukushima fund and then gave his address to get the badge. That's reasonably clever for a 9-12 year old to come up with

I finally finished listening to this recent ep, the writing is so bad there's zero character development or coherent characters at all and nothing makes sense. It kind of hit a stride in the last 3rd when they start going insane from how fucking awful it is imo.

If this is the quality of story they are willing to read they have basically infinite content, there are tens of thousands of horrible fanfictions and creepypastas from the last 15 or so years.

When the podcast first started, I was kind of hoping it'd be a series like Bad Creepypasta. I'm okay with where it's going now, I just wish they'd read more actual creepypasta and less nosleep stories

Sometimes they have a stinker of a story, but Christ, this one is just bad-bad. I've been trying for the past three days to power through this. I'm three hours in, and like the two guys I just want to stop and go to bed and give up. I tried listening to this at work and failed, put it on while playing some RCT and gave up, tried it while doing some Aurora 4x. Doesn't matter, every few minutes the author writes something so tremendously retarded that just shows that they're an eleven year-old writing this, makes me want to shake them and tell them to try again when they're older (nevermind that this story is, what a decade old now?). I'm glad they did this though -- it's fun to suffer together, ain't it gang?

This story was spammed to hell and back in the comments and on Reddit
And in the end, it was just a very shitty Squidward's suicide, honestly, the worst story ye,t and that's saying something
At least we got the best crash out so far

Naming the cult in the very last post is so funny is makes think/hope the author was in on the joke by the end of the series, it's just such masterful timing.

Also what did MC mean when he said he had to be careful reading the word "Noggin"?

Tried listening to Happy Appy on the TV last night while I was going to bed, I fell asleep before they even got to the story they spent so long getting to it.
I was woken up by Hunter screaming at the top of his lungs at the very end of the story.
Rewound it a bit and laughed that the author pretty much "long story short"ed them at the end lol

I know I'm late to this so spare me the :late: ratings please. Just watched Meat Canyons ICE meltdown in the Bucees video. Super disappointing. I never expected a guy who looks like Meat to be le epic based redpilled man but the whole "THEY'RE MASKED THUGS PRETENDING TO BE A REAL ORGANIZATION" line taken directly from Reddit was a new low. It's just lies. ICE has existed since Bush was in office. It's not a new organization and they aren't "M-MASKED THUGS GOING AFTER AMERICANS!" it's a federal organization deporting criminals from our country.

The anger over them being masked is also comically stupid. I can tell you personally as someone who lives in a major west coast city people were posting flyers with ICE and DHS agents faces around the city with their home addresses to get people to go to their homes and do god knows what to them. The masks are to protect them from deranged people who want to harm them. It's not for some evil mustache twirling reason.
They know exactly what they are doing. They pretend to not understand why they are masked, but they just want their faces to be exposed to do harm to them and their families.

New Weird Bible Podcast, but no Isaiah. He has a legitimate out for why he couldn't attend, but I do wonder if we're ever going to get a weird bible podcast with Isaiah invested and not totally drained again.

I got 2 hours in. It could not be more obvious that they simply just don't enjoy doing this podcast or working together anymore. This story is fucking hilariously, comically bad. There is plenty for them to work with like Happy Appy fucking doing 9/11. And Wendigoon even calls Hunter out on not really reacting to it or giving a fuck.

Hunter just drags the whole thing down by being as miserable as possible, complaining and threatening to quit because I guess sitting there while Wendigoon reads (over the course of several days with frequent breaks) is so difficult. There was a crash out but it seemed forced and out of boredom rather than investment in a terrible story.

How you fail to have fun with Happy Appy the homicidal apple puppet that murders people in over the top gorey ways and turn it into an entertaining episode is beyond me.

(Yes I know this particular episode could get better later on but the point about Hunter clearly not enjoying the podcast still stands)

I'm just going to find a straight reading of the story because I find it fascinating as a piece of internet horror history but I'm not putting the mental energy into reading 5 hours of it myself.

Or maybe hunter is a retarded faggot that never leaves his bubble politically.
I dont think he leaves his bubble at all in general.
Jontron punched Egoraptors girlfriend and that's why he left GameGrumps
That's what you sound like. Is it really so hard to believe they just really hated the story and didn't find much humor in it? Wouldn't be the first time. Goon also has a newborn he's taking care of which doesn't really leave much mental energy for being a circus monkey tbh.
