The only reason modern era is such a trash heap is really simple. Boomer men respected women and bound by honor, raised sons in that image. Women quickly learned they could take advantage of this for gibs and learned the game better. Two generations later, Gen X parents raised their boys with the same honor and respect from the 1950s. They didn't bother to realize that the world had changed, and namely women have changed.

If you were a millennial, chances are your father didn't teach you about women or their true nature. Well, they see musicians/visual artists as a potential propagandists for a foreign powers, and for guys with a workshop: we all know what they thought about JStark. Modern society seeing men and masculinity as increasingly useless and a liability definitely doesn't help things, I'm not saying it's at the forefront of anything yet but there is some serious lack of adequate male role models that does nothing to solve the growing problem. Back when I was younger they didn't have 24/7 internet and social media so access to certain communities was limited. It's completely not true. I'm Russian, and I see a differece between basic common sense and local incel culture, the latter started with "Men's state" movement. Basically, their common beliefs are that (1) all women are whores; (2) if you don't supress feelings towards your wife/gf, she is going to fool you and cheat on you, (3) unless you are a "chad", she will leave you when she finds a better option, (4) if you are not a "chad," she is with you only because she can siphon your money and/or fuck around, (5) if sex isn't forced by a man, then it's a women's manipulation tool. When you read incel rhethoric on Russian chans, it's basically the same shizo narrative that Americans have, with some minor deviations that don't change the overall idea.

Now, I'm not familiar with incel culture in China, but given that there are a ton of terminally online losers as well, and demographics is even worse due to w/m ration, it pretty much the same there as well, with some cultural differences.

As for cultural and historical revisionism, that's probably a wrong thread for discussing it, but comparing countries that you view as "trad" and "progressive" is futile unless you have experience living in both.
