Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I am currently watching through the early 90s cartoon Pirates of Dark Water. I have always wanted to get into it, I don't seem to recall seeing it on any of the channels I watched growing up. I mainly stuck to Nickelodeon and Fox and the WB. It's really fun so far and I love the smooth animation. It's a shame it never was finished. I will probably play through the SNES and Genesis games for funsies. Has anyone read the comics?
I did and they were okay, although I don't think they finished the overall story. Here's a summary of the issues. (I'd still have the comics if the person who had them before me hadn't stored them someplace where they got some horrible stench. I had to give them away.)

In a way, I'm glad the series faded into obscurity. There's no way they wouldn't reboot the series into being a horrible woke mess, despite the fact that the original had a dark-skinned hero, a strong female character, and a villain who was pretty much the biggest, whitest man on that planet.

Funny how describing that show without knowing anything about it would sound like you're describe woke black/girl power fantasy cartoon with bad white man #5002.

Somewhere on his website he told a "haha this was so funny" story about how insanely neglected his childhood horses were, someone got upset, and he portrayed them like this:
Hasan Piker tier shit. I have zero respect for anyone who thinks neglecting horses is something ha ha funny. They're not usually terribly bright in the way cats and dogs can be, but they're highly socially intelligent and absolutely need interaction with both other horses and humans on a daily basis. People who can't bring that shouldn't have them.
Or Superman, or Batman.
Batman is best capeshit hero because he doesn't rely on bullshit magical powers he has for reasons, but on his own human intellect, physical abilities, and resources.
Spiderman needs to stay in his lane, curing cancer was never his mission and he's stupid for thinking the dinosaur man riding another dinosaur
Spider-Man isn't the guy who cures cancer, he's the guy who saves the guy who cures cancer.

They literally did an episode debunking this.
I dunno when exactly it happened, but at some point it became a meme belief that the hero and the villain are different sides of the same coin, which is an absolute lie and only works by worsening the hero over time. It's probably tied to that stuff about the hero creating his enemies when it's the other way around, or a bit of both.

Superman is the best capeshit hero because he has magical bullshit powers and yet is a truly good person with strong moral character despite having no reason to do so beyond his own belief in good.

Jews can't comprehend the idea that an all powerful being like Superman would be selfless and humble.

I was under the impression that Jews know Superman would be selfless and humble. But since that would go against the messaging they're trying to push out to the masses, they do their hardest to portray him in the opposite manner, which includes making the villains have sob stories.

I think Batman and Superman should get married
Honestly? Wouldn't be the worst gay ship I've ever seen. They've got legitimate chemistry at least in their proper guises, and Batman is a great superhero it's just that a lot of his fanbase are totally insufferable because they want him to be this weird mix of Spiderman and The Punisher.

Yeah, Batman has the same type of fans that are like "Rick Sanchez is my hero."
Plus, re: shipping, that whole "man of steel, woman of kleenex" thing is countered because Batman is always prepared. He has the money and the ingenuity to take on Superman.

Their Authority versions (Apollo & Midnighter) did.

This is why I prefer the original the boys. Say what you want about Ennis, (and believe me my fellow kiwis have) he'd point out what gay superman and batman would really be like....a pair of degenerate faggots. Not that Apollo and midnighter aren't but wildstorm/dc wants you to be happy and supportive of them.

But this is the western animation thread not the comic sperging one, and I need something to feel something aside despair and angst....sooo

Thank goodness it plays outside youtube.

So i mentioned this in the new mr enter thread, but the show, legends of chamberlain heights has had a sort of comeback online. Mostly because niggers have found it "funny," and because niggers find it "funny" and have been making edits, reuploads, and other dumb shit on the internet based on this retarded show.

Ironic since as enter pointed out comedy central did their damndest to make legends of chamberlain heights look like it was popular by astroturfing it to hell and back. Even going as far as to have ads for it run on his own channel just because he was an animation reviewer with something of a fan base back then.

Basically comedy central is getting what they originally wanted, to bad it's a decade too late to matter unless they become so desperate they decide to reboot chamberlain heights of all things.

You're fucking retarded.

BTAS debunked this in an episode specifically for it, and in the Frank Miller continuity the super villains don't show up until The Long Halloween, which takes place a couple years after Batman has been taking it to the various organized crime syndicates in Gotham.

These two properties form the basis of basically every single modern take on Batman.
I like the idea that someone like Mr. Freeze is just like "I was going to throw away all my advanced ice-based technology, move on from my dying wife and let myself die; but then I saw that there's a dude who dresses up as a Bat and thought 'What the hell?'."
