The official trailer for that Animal Farm remake starring Seth Rogan dropped… it is far, far worse than I think you could have ever hoped:

Why does that other pig that says "Slaughter House" sound like Shmorky bro

That was awful. I think if I was a communist I'd be mad about this. Shit, I'd claim it was a psyop to make leftists look so untalented and retarded that they should be ignored entirely. Between this and Fuentes winning a slap fight against Pierce Morgan I'm almost inclined to believe it.

I'm just so numb. i watched the entire thing. no feeling. maybe i've just seen too much animation goy slop.
Pretty much, it's just so tiresome. I understand the upset from other users in this thread but really guys? We already have the 1950's adaptation which is really good and I remember there being a live action Animal Farm movie from a while ago that was also decent. This isn't going to do anything except make idiots look stupid for singing its praises or getting suckered into talking about why it's bad on a surface level, like all these types of movies that attract the dime-a-dozen youtube culture vultures.

We must find the middle school teachers of everyone whos a part of this shit so they can wack them with rulers and switches before draging them by the ear to a classroom and forced them to read and understand the book.

I thought Angel Studios were the only Christian film studio that made Christian films that were actually watchable.

I did notice it says "Angel" and not "Angel Studios" so I guess they're just acting as distributor for this slop?

Who knows probably won't get a wide release anyway given the history of their past movies

I'm curious if the people I usually hear shilling for Angel Studios will be plugging this
and this _is_ _that _Angel Studios, right?

Me: Oh okay I guess it'll just pitter--ANGEL WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE???!

If every villain is misunderstood, then none are.

Why is it a trend?
So no one ever has the moral high ground.
If you learn to see villains as misunderstood, you start doing this thing where you either stop believing evil exists, or start automatically thinking "Oh but in their story I'm the bad guy."
It's like a perversion of ideas like William Dyer's "There are no justified resentments" which are meant to help you become more mentally resilient, but instead you end up floundering. In arguments and fights you are weakened, because you cannot summon the sense of moral outrage you would need to defend yourself from those that would harm you. You've learned and internalized "They're suffering, too" and believe you are doing the moral thing by holding both their anger and your own feelings, while the opposition (so long as it is in line with the dominant culture/group/power) carries no such compassion for you nor do they have any obligation to do so if they belong to certain groups or hold certain beliefs.

“24. (fr) Psychologists use the term "socialization” to designate the process by which children are trained to think and act as society demands. A person is said to be well socialized if he believes in and obeys the moral code of his society and fits in well as a functioning part of that society. It may seem senseless to say that many leftists are over-socialized, since the leftist is perceived as a rebel. Nevertheless, the position can be defended.
25. (fr) The moral code of our society is so demanding that no one can think, feel and act in a completely moral way. For example, we are not supposed to hate anyone, yet almost everyone hates somebody at some time or other, whether he admits it to himself or not. Some people are so highly socialized that the attempt to think, feel and act morally imposes a severe burden on them. In order to avoid feelings of guilt, they continually have to deceive themselves about their own motives and find moral explanations for feelings and actions that in reality have a nonmoral origin. We use the term "oversocialized” to describe such people.
26. (fr) Oversocialization can lead to low self-esteem, a sense of powerlessness, defeatism, guilt, etc. One of the most important means by which our society socializes children is by making them feel ashamed of behavior or speech that is contrary to society’s expectations.”

They're desperately encroaching on properties they would have previously chewed you out for even bringing up. Then when they're inevitably laughed out of the room and picked apart by culture war channels a la Santa Inc, they'll flail and scream about how the people they're insulting wouldn't show up to see their movie. What's next, a Disney adaptation of The Turner Diaries?

I thought Angel Studios were the only Christian film studio that made Christian films that were actually watchable.
That's how they bill themselves. Many of their shows (like Chosen) don't really follow many baseline Christian traits, and they're highly Mormon overall. The majority of Christians balk at LDS people calling themselves Christian.

Would said Disney adaptation still be banned in Canada, since the book itself is banned there?
The solution to that would be to name it "Turner" and change the story just enough to say that the plot and characters are inspired by and allegorically related--but any actual similarity is entirely co-incidental.
