A lot of Scooby Doo projects in the past couple of years seem ashamed that the appeal of the show about the talking dog is the talking dog and his stoner sidekick. I like the rest of the gang too, but stop trying to make them the focus.

How many times do we need to see how Mystery Inc. was formed? There's A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, The Mystery Begins, Daphne & Velma, Scoob, Velma, and now this. What's next, a Fred origin story?

More like past two decades. Scooby Doo as an IP has been on a downward spiral of being self-deprecating since that first Gunn movie. I guess them getting rid of the dog is the natural conclusion of everyone in the creative department just seemingly wanting nothing to do with the IP. For a while, they got by on just bringing in other IPs which always left a feeling that the crew wanted to be working on those instead - see Scoob basically being a weird Blue Falcon / Dick Dastardly film.

This. Scooby Doo is evergreen for a reason, it's all about the gang solving mysteries. Have an origins episode by all means, but don't make it the entire point of the show.

The dub for a currently airing anime I saw translated "Curse you" as "Get rekt," with that spelling.

I've mentioned this before, but it really pisses me off. Back in 2011, when the dub for Steins;Gate was scripted, they not only kept in all the very explicit references to Luka being male, but they also always referred to him as "he." When Steins;Gate 0 aired in 2018, someone at Funimation decided that shit was too problematic for current year, and not only removed literally every single instance of Luka being referred to by pronouns, but they replaced Mayuri quoting Okabe's famous "But he's a dude!" line with "And we have Ruka!" (They also mistranslated Luka's name because they're fucking retards, but that's a carryover from the original dub.)

They did originally have a plan for an epilogue season to Omniverse, a "road trip" through space to see various alien worlds with Ben, Gwen, Kevin and Rook. It was meant to be a sendoff by calling back to the original series' formula.
No telling what their idea for this next show is, but if it looks anywhere as good as the concept art I'd consider watching it.
