Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

And now for no reason in particular here's one second from every major animated movie ever made.
Not 100% accurate though, Disney takes up almost the entire lineup from the 30s to the 80s for some reason there's no clips from Bakshi's work in the 70s or Bluth's stuff from the 80's or the few Theatrical Films Hanna Barbara made like Charlotte's Web, or The Man Called Flintstone, but I think they did include Once Upon A Forest.

So Young Justice season 4 has started and now it's exclusive to HBO Max (whoda' guessed? Everyone.) My quick rundown of the seasons:

Season 1: absolutely fantastic. Peak DC Animated media. 10/10

Season 2: very good. Not quite up there with season 1 primarily because of the new characters but it's still very good. 9/10

Season 3: it starts off well but the problem, again, are the new characters and this time they're deeply unlikable or pandering. This one forces Cyborg into the storyline and we go through the motions with his bullshit yet again for the umpteenth time. The instant Cyborg is introduced the entire season just goes to shit. Plus there's Tara from Teen Titans, and yes, we go through that storyline where she double crosses everyone yet again. Then there's the Muslim character and she's really not very interesting. Her story is the same as any other young superhero learning how to deal with their shit which we've done multiple times in this show by now. Only difference is that she's immortal so they technically kill her off in extremely graphic ways. There's one episode where Lobo returns and he fires his hook weapon right into her fucking face and she's fine later. Only new character I liked was Forager. The returning characters don't have a lot to do mid way through the season. I couldn't finish the season because I just did not care. 5/10

The first two episodes for the new season are out and I'm going to give it a 2nd chance:

And the first episode is about racism. Martian racism but still... Oh boy.

I got through the two episodes and it really didn't feel like much happened aside from establishing a new villain. Looks like I'm skipping and just going to pretend the show ended at season 2.

Figures it's gonna be typical of noobs.

In the words of Malcom McDowell as Sam Loomis: "It must be great living in denial i must try it sometime."

Also in the words of Mcdowell as

Baron von ghoulish: What have you done!? Do you realize I'll be picking ash out of my bedroom carpet for eternity?!

Mandy: Didn't i just destroy you?

Baron von ghoulish: You staked a little TOO far to the left, hit my trusty vacuum cleaner! Besides you don't want the head vampire you want the head HEAD vampire!

This makes me miss Jessica Walter even more. :semperfidelis: *sigh*

Edit: wait a minute, Malory's husband in universe IS Jessica's husband IRL? Jesus Christ, you can HEAR Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) react to the news.

End the series on a good note.
Yeah, while the series has been going for a while having two characters move on due to their voice actors passing is a shame.

I reckon I'll give Young Justice S4 a try. I enjoyed Forager quite a bit in season 3, was bored by Cyborg again (though that said Doom Patrol I am enjoying him since they're doing more than just the standard Cyborg stuff) and was quite impressed with the stuff with Savage so evened out not hating it.

Amphibia season 3 is going okay, being a picky soul though I found the new ending faintly irksome as a contrast to the normal more mellow version used.

Man, I forgot this show existed. Last time I watched it, Archer was still in a coma and it was seeming like they were on a steady decline. Have the recent seasons been worth watching?
