Today I have now spent this amount of years on this Earth not knowing that Code Lyoko was a French cartoon.

Megas XLR is the only example of an American show referencing anime and it not being cringy as shit.

The tragedy of Megas XLR is that it will never return to air or be released on home video because executives wrote it as a tax loss to avoid losing money on it

Another really underrated French show is Skyland Le Nouveau Monde. It aired on Nicktoons back in the day.

There's a loooot of French cartoons and they usually have weirdly sexual content because that's just how the French roll. It's why Code Lyoko had a weird number of scenes with the kids in nothing but underwear.

I also think they're fond of fiveheads but I'm just guessing there.

Thank god most modern day companies who own those characters are too stuck up over IP rights to ever come together and just let some no name studio use their ips all Willy nilly the way they did back in 90. As fucked up as copyright law is at least it's sparing us a shit show like that from ever happening.
