HOWEVER. This is Wonder Woman, not Guardians of the Galaxy nor Harley Quinn. Her kinds of stories aren't like that at all. They're more like Thor's kinds of stories which is somewhat serious war tales drenched in mythology.
Wasn't much of the original Wonder Woman comic thinly disguised bondage fetish?

Okay, to explain this without major spoilers, both the book and the movie have a scene revealing that God has cat-eyes, the intent clearly being "God is a cat and that's why the almighty is partial to them."

You would THINK this would be obvious. The very first thing in both versions of the story shows a door opening to reveal God and the narration specifically says "one day, God said..."

I mean, put two and two together: that means this being is God, right?

.... not to the internet, apparently.

I was on Youtube just now, saw a video about "Garfield Lore" by someone named Chuupo who... completely misunderstands this and instead thinks it means that the Garfield from the "Lab Animal" story evolved into a celestial being! And on further searching and reading his comments, this is apparently the standard interpretation!

No, dumbasses! The joke was that God is a cat! How do you miss that? Does Atheism make people so retarded that they can't even understand religious-based humor?
Are you sure they’re not just memeing about Garfield being an eldritch abomination beyond mortal comprehension?

Relevant video here by the way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHxhcaNRAMo&t=755s

(in case timestamp doesn't work the relevant bit is at 12m35s)

Watching it again now... I'm starting to think that I did jump the gun a bit. The way this guy talks he sounded completely serious, and I'm so used to people on the internet being fucking retarded that I just parsed it at face-value.

I could swear I read something else (possibly the TV Tropes page) that backed up this interpretation but I'm having trouble finding it now.

del toro's pinocchio won best animated film at the oscars. that is your information for now

"Miracles are made in the heart, Papa." 🥲

Turning Red is fine if you want a basic slice of life thing, but it doesn't really do anything beyond that to elevate it above the usual cliches. It's not Oscar-worthy and that's just a simple fact.

Holy fuck. They can't understand that Mindy is who they are. She's exactly like them, yet they keep denying it. She showed your true faces with a cartoon, and now you're mad.

Turning Red is really mediocre. It's not bad for what it is, but it really didn't deserve an Oscar. Puss in Boots, Marcel, and Pinocchio were more deserving of an Oscar and I'm happy that Pinocchio won. I do hope Del Toro keeps doing well in his future animation endeavors.

Whenever there's something called Foo Twitter, whether it's Animation or Law or whatever, anything that makes it mad is good.

I hope Wes Anderson makes another that actually wins.

Funny thing is, I called it. I knew that Del Toro's Pinocchio was going to win Best Animated Feature because it was a better movie. Well, that and also both Marcel and the new Puss in Boots sequel. Turning Red doesn't deserve to be in Best Animated Feature because it's just boring background noise (even with the bullshit cringe moments) to play for kids to watch while doing something else in your life. That said...
Maybe commentating or referncing 9/11 would have helped it get that Oscar

mr enter was right all along
...we should've listened to Mr. Enter.

Yes. The creator of Wonder Woman had a bdsm/dominatrix fetish.

He was also a feminist, I think.

They're more like Thor's kinds of stories which is somewhat serious war tales drenched in mythology. Gunn making WW akin to Harley Quinn would be disastrous. We'll see. Or not see since DC keeps putting out stinkers.
Exactly, Gunn needs to stay in his lane. Just stick with stuff like Suicide Squad or Harley Quinn.

It was interesting seeing the clips they showed at the Oscars of all the animated nominees, all of these beautiful or cute moments, and Turning Red's was just "I LIKE GYRATING, MOM! I'M 13! DEAL WITH IT!" That's the dialogue? :lit:
