Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Yeah, and that worries me. I mean, we’ve seen how Bob and Chris turned out.
And the industry continues to glorify horrifyingly mentally ill manchildren in entertainment, which doesn't surprise me considering NYC and LA are full of horrifyingly mentally ill people who have enough bank to travel to Epstein's island

The villain in 3 made me cringe, waste of J K Simmons. Same with the liar reveal bullshit, it's a hated trope for a reason. Still some great looking moments, and Po's goose dad is always a stand out in those movies.
Yeah it's not a terrible movie, but it's easily the weakest of the three so far.

Have mixed feelings about this one (not just it's only in Spanish either) on the one hand it is nice to see CN acknowledging it's glory days (if only to remind people of them) and this feels like it could have been taken from the best place for cartoons Era with the blending of live action and animation.

On the other...you have appearances by all the generations including the bullshit gen 4 and 5.

The City era from 2004 to 06 is still way better
Just bumpers from the 90s-2000s are better than nu crap

New Disney Movie leak, this time for an Incredibles spin off film apparently featuring an adopted white kid with Frozo and his Wife being her parents:

this time for an Incredibles spin off film
>Brad Bird no longer working for Pixar

Automatically shit right out of the gate (if true). If this is their way of "redeeming" the sequel to where people go "Man, you make Incredibles 2 look good!", they have lost the plot. Why should we have to focus on a non-superhero OC character (I say "OC" because we've had nothing proving that Fro-Zone actually adopted, and why should they show such a boring scene to set it up anyway?) when we already had Syndrome and he was such a brilliant, brilliant take on the idea of non-superhero sidekick fanboys?

I'm glad Brad Bird is no longer working for an evil corpo, but on the other hand, I'm sad yet unsurprised he's giving the Incredibles away to the nepotistic "writers" who have zero clue as to how actually know how to write something original and focus more on writing fanfiction.

I don't think he had rights to The Incredibles for a long time. Lasseter never had the rights to Toy Story, otherwise he would've taken it with him when he got kicked out, after all. There's like a clause in the Disney/Pixar contract that you forfeit everything you create to the Mouse while working for him.

Watched the pilot for The Amazing Digital Circus, I had only learned about the show a couple days ago, somehow missed seeing anything about it for the month that it's been out I guess. Actually thought it was pretty good, the 3D style and character designs work really well for what it's supposed to be inspired by and the sense of humor the show has is pretty good. Surprisingly it's not as over the top as one would expect, I think the characters are pretty good too. Jax could get annoying quick but even he is more reserved than a lot of of other jerk characters in shows like this. There's enough mystery going on to keep things intriguing to me and the set-up pretty much allows for almost anything to happen. I also like the censored swearing, not just for the joke but because too many "adult" shows, not just cartoons, use swearing as a crutch for comedy. So I hope there isn't even that much censored swearing and the show actually puts effort into its jokes and comedy.

Also Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel have the crass corner covered right now, so if this show does the opposite that would be really cool. A lack of sex/gore/swearing I think would be really helpful to make this show better, show that it can stand on its own merits without shock value. And the Pilot so far makes it seem like it can do that.

Speaking of ADC, the pilot is currently at 74 million views even with a few of the dubs being down for reworking. This means it has surpassed Helluva Boss's pilot by 14 million, is now 2mil away from surpassing the first DHMIS and is now 17mil away from jumping past Hazbin's pilot.

I never said he did, you're missing the point. You know, Matt Groening may have created the Simpsons and Seth MacFarlane created Family Guy, but the companies own these characters, I understand, but this isn't the point I'm trying to make, you literal retard. I know companies have the rights to what the original creator had made and intended. I'm saying that companies have been milking products for the worst, and Disney being Disney, this is one of them.

This sounds bad from the synopsis alone:
* The whole point of the original The Inctedibles is exceptionalism and you fucking know they'll return to the safe harbor of "everyone is special".
* Nobody gives a shit about the life of non superhero, especially not children.

By the way, anyone notice when 50s-60s cartoons rebroadcasted in syndication in the 90s , new theme songs were added?

Look at the description with the third one:
yet another example of the unwritten 90s law that all 60s cartoons must now have new theme songs
At least they didn't do one for Rocky and Bullwinkle
They just made a custom network intro with the same stock music in the show.
