The fact that they would even dare make a Recess reboot in this current timeline by having to “reimagine” the characters in the future is about as more insulting as making Gus and Mikey essentially irrelevant to the cartoon at large.

Out of all of these I actually like TJ's story. That's something I could see as TJ's future. The rest all have many issues. Spinelli's I'll give them credit that they didn't make the tomboy a lesbian (although it sounds like she's bi or experimented a bunch at some point) but holy shit Vince/Spinelli? It's like Matt and Sora all over again. I don't mind TJ and Spinelli not getting together but Vince and Spinelli is just weird even though they'd probably have a lot of shared interests and fairly similar attitudes and drive. Vince is clearly the "we can't portray a black character in any negative way" sort. Gretchen's story just seems really plain, although it sounds like they might be making her a lesbian too? But at least her job and career path fits her character. Mikey's also fits his character pretty well but it's plain and disappointing they'd kill his character like that, but the description makes me think they'd have him as some sort of "spirit advisor" to everyone else in the show.
Gus though. Holy shit.
If Ms. Finster was actually still alive and working or doing stuff though that would be cool. She was the best.

TJ gets with Spinelli with TJ making vidya games and Spinelli being a wwe wrestler, Vince becomes an Athlete, Gretchen gets to either be a scientist or an author, Mikey gets to be passionate about his love of the arts, and Gus becomes the alpha male we all knew he was deep down inside.
Good thing this shit never hit the channels.

If this shit stays dead and buried...I will personally become born again and devote my life to praising god...if Disney does end up green lighting it as these sob are hoping to reboot it I'm gonna go full Richard Dawkins and become a full blow objectivist..because only then will God be dead and man will have finally killed him.
What's even worse is this isn't some soulless cash grad Co opted by Berkey collage graduates who fast tracked through school on victim points. No no this was a pitch Bible by the same people who created recess in 99...a time that feels as far away and long ago as the friggin 50s at this point.
I mean...I have doubts about the Doug reboot but at least that show has Jim Jenkins at the wheel and he seems to still be a mellow guy...as far as I can tell.
Maxwell atoms was right to turn down those reboots he was offered but he also seems like a chill guy who could have at least tried to salvage what he had to work hell.....as much as I HATE jellystone...you can't pin the blame on why it sucks soley on ch Greenblatt the guy has a track record and seemingly hasn't let the post trump era cloud his mind. You can tell he tried to save jellystone but was stopped at every turn by the tranny hires he was prettty much forced to work with.
Same goes for the ren and stimpy reboot. As bad as the leaked episode is I'm of the mind that things like the "black God voiced by drag queen" was all because of that tranny Paramount/viacom hired who pretty much insulted the few people from the original show who returned to work on it (Bob camp and Bill wray) the same pos who told Bill and bob, "eww you're old and white I don't wanna hear what you have to say about this show."

My expectations are subverted when they made the main character a jaded washout as an adult
Its so original to see old characters become jaded losers when they grow up.
Like the idea in a vacuum can be fine, but they use this for every single character even if it is out of character for them.

When it's used to show a character the path they're on leads to that crappy outcome, like the early flash-forward episodes of The Simpsons having Bart be a loser while Lisa was the president, it's interesting and provides something to challenge the character. When it's a sequel series and the character we cared so much about turns out to be a loser despite all their growth or positive attributes, it's like a slap in the face to people who gave a shit.

So I just found out that Scavengers Reign was cancelled. What a load of horseshit. No use using streaming services if in the end, most of this stull gets cancelled before it even gets started.
